Neale Donald Walsch once said “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” Once you stop letting fears and anxiety hold you back, you'll start seeing those major breakthroughs in life. A few years ago, we took the courage to step out of our comfort zone. And we're now reaping what we sow. When we first started our cookie business, we were living in our car with very little direction, just a huge passion to be successful. We just graduated college as well. We started a cookie shop out of a local bagel shop in their off hours at night. We were living in our car in the parking lot of the shop at the time with my boyfriend, Bran. It was a crazy experience but it worked! We became a success! And how we have our first storefront location (a second launching soon!) We started it to fund a year long backpacking trip around the world and to be successful while living the life of our dreams.

THIS!!! So many people find what's necessary to get out of their comfort zone when they hit difficult times. If you can figure it sooner, not only can you lead a more abundant life, but you can avoid a great deal of pain too. If you are in your comfort zone, push to get out and try new things.

In my observation of myself I realized that when I become comfortable in my endeavors then I lose that monomaniacal focus on my ambitions. The struggles serves as a catalyst for growth, for example as a cyclist I started and I found the hills hard as I ride more up hills the better cyclist I become, same applies to life, the more struggles I face the better I become. I never attended a high school a day in my life due to circumstances in my upbringing. I took responsibility and used those difficulties in my life, I graduated with a law degree, I will be admitted as a attorney in a few months as well as completing a Masters degree. Never give up, start with the micro, small mundane habits creates the life we dream of. J Kuyler

Omg I’ve been using that exact mountaintop analogy lately! 😆 It’s true. There’s nothing “wrong” with the comfort zone. It can be a great place to be, to just rest, process, pace ourselves. But at some point, we can be there too long if we aren’t paying attention. The good places we’ve worked hard to get to can become the thing holding us back.

I think that needs a bit more clarification. emotions outside your comfort zone are anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, sadness. Being outside your comfort zone is a challenge and people need to understand that it is o.k to feel these negative emotions as every emotion serves a positive purpose. if you mean the feeling when you finally achieve a goal and the happiness you will get from that then yes eventually you have that feeling but that just leads to being at another comfortable zone which is happiness. The happiness trap is a real idea. "Why am i feeling miserable doing this? I should be feeling happy moving towards my goals" "why do I feel sore after a workout? I should be feeling fitter and happier?" The road to any happiness is paved with a roller coaster of emotions and we perceive happiness is the norm for everything. You may want to consider stating "Our Comfort zone is the death of personal and professional growth" which is far more accurate.

When he got excited at the end and started bouncing, I started bouncing too 😂 but this is so true for me. Now that I'm out of school my life has no real direction. I really do *want* to have a job. I *want* to learn a new language. I *want* to learn how to paint. I *want* to travel. I *want* to workout more. I want to sing and dance and *make* music to sing and dance to. I have all these things I want to do but at the end of the day, ill ive done is lay in bed and watch KZread. It's like I'm stuck here in this depressing void. But this really struck a cord with me.

I can testify that my greatest breakthroughs came everytime I deeply felt I HAD TO do something specific in order to progress. More or less along Brendon's lines, I always felt that an "idea" fueled me to do whatever I wanted do (not HAD TO do) proportionally to the amount of willpower I had to maintain it, and as soon as I felt weary enough I'd just end dropping it. Conversely, everytime I feel like I have a sort of "mission to acomplish something", the driving force is so powerful that I guess that willpower isn't even part of the process... I just blast through dificulties like they are minor "annoyances", and nothing matters but getting "IT" accomplished. It's funny to watch this video and hear this from someone else, because I myself reached a certain "plateau" I liked, but at the same time also felt stagnant... and remembered that "once upon a time" I had a powerful drive to get things done that seemed to not exist anymore... and I came to realize that's because once there was a MISSION and that mission has been accomplished. And then there were only "plenty of important things to get done"... but not a mission, not an "Ultimate Goal". So having a "Mission" rather that "plenty of important things to do" makes a world of difference.

Really right. Who knew that reaching your goals in life could be so disappointing. All of a sudden all the zest has left your picture of the future and you feel paralyzed in your current situation. Had it not been for a setback in my health l’d of had no good luck at all. I had definitely reached my goal but had nothing new to look forward to. Since I am no longer able to do what I was used to I had to change goals and once again have that zest for life. Important information to those who have reached a goal and feel disappointed that they have. Thanks again
