Please don’t follow this persons way of protecting yourself from live electrical circuits. Those gloves are not rated or tested for live electrical work.

It’s available in wireless also. About $60 at Home Depot and Lowe’s The nice thing about using wireless is you find the breaker with out tripping all or any breaker. If working on a home or business panel due to computers you may not be able to do the tripping breakers.

I first thought he was just going to short the hot & neutral to find it. But that works too.

Short the wires and you risk at damaging all your electronic dimmers on that circuit…

That works. Just remember to tell everyone to turn off their electronic devices before you go flipping breakers! In a factory or commercial environment you can't use one of those. There are computer stations at every desk, counter, and cubical. If you start clicking breakers you could lose your job as an electrician or maintenance depending on who's computer you accidently shut down. They make tic tracers and tone generators and receivers for those very reasons. Yes they usually cost more than a few bucks, but if it saves your job.... It's worth it. Watch all these gifs ideas videos people. Realize that these are optional low cost methods of achieving the higher price results without shelling or the higher price. But sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet to save your asz. Later!

Besides the problem of cutting all the circuits, this is a 12V car wiring cable hooked up the wrong way (live and common swapped) .

This was an old house that only had friction tape holding all of the wires together ... no wire nuts anywhere. I installed a double-gang box here to add an exhaust fan in the bathroom and put everything back together with Ideal push connectors... though I know some people hate those as well.

You shouldn’t be turning off your main unless you absolutely have to. A breaker is a mechanical device and like anything else mechanical over time it will fail after excessive use. So don’t be turning it off anytime you want to be modifying your system, that’s crazy talk.

@russelldelorey7348 you are Partially correct.. it shouldn't be used like a light switch to turn off and on but it is recommended to "exercise" them once a year.. so turning them off to work on a circuit is perfectly fine.. so sorry bud you're mostly wrong....

How about wiring a 15 amp circuit breaker across the hot and neutral. Then flip it on and you'll trip that breaker and hopefully the one in the panel if it's working. Does anyone know if that would work. Lol

I'm a third generation electrician I wouldn't even turn the electric off to change a switch. Now this guy is an absolute moron😂😂 I bet he couldn't put 2 batteries in a flashlight and make it work 😂😂
