Find inspiration - Emily Mason abstract art

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The abstract art of Emily Mason is interesting to look into. I put out a painting challenge to try painting in her style. In this video I make some small paintings and several people submitted their artwork which I also share in this video.
The video about the artwork on the wall behind me: • Art Inspiration: David...
Artist portrait on Emily Mason: vimeo.com/242777981
Materials
The art materials I use in the videos are not sponsored.
I prefer to work on multi-purpose paper, more info in this video: • How to choose the RIGH...
In almost all my videos I use with Winsor&Newton Galeria acrylics, if not, I will say so in the video.
Other materials I use are in random order: 5, 10 and 40mm brushes, palette knives, acrylics medium, Ecoline liquid watercolor, Lyra color pencils, Lyra soft pastels, oil pastels, Stabilo color pencils, paper palette pad and basic masking tape. I also use household items like a permanent marker, scrub sponge, scissors, paper towel, and so on.

It was fun looking at all the participant's artwork. I love how everyone interrupts the challenge differently with different outcomes. A lot of people dismiss abstract art for many reasons, though I've even enjoyed it even when I was younger.

Thank you, Albert, for your inspiring, joyful videos. Abstract art is often difficult for me to fully appreciate, but you do a good job of making it more relatable, and you've shown us so many artists I would never have known about,, such as Emily Mason (excellent!)! Such a great education. A lot of time, work and research must go into every one of your videos, please know that so many of us look forward to each new one, and thank you!

Thanks My3Babies. I like to focus on making abstract and just hope people will try it for themselves. I believe that trough making, you can possibly arive at understanding or wanting to know more (about art or artists). What brings us to do, do, doing 😉 Thanks for dropping by again, Albert

Abstract art is where I am putting my energy these days. Color and patterns and their interactions speak to me in a way that representational painting does not.

Thanks S, for participating. Showing all the individual variations (images, ways of working and materials used) is why the challenges are so interesting for the viewers. The ones who participate are often challenged to try new ways of working. Looking forward to the next one and I hope you will join again. Albert

Thanks for including my work. I watched the video about her work process and it was really inspiring. I have a new much larger gel plate and I'm really keen to adapt some of her approach to painting for my printmaking, especially the thin glazes she uses.

Nice to hear Carol. It's fun to able to show a diversity of artwork like this I love the stabilo woodies for their oiliness or richness in color. I don't mind a limited set of colors because you can combine and mix them, rub them. Albert
