Creative process examples - Take a second look - Geometric Abstraction

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

People often ask me where I get all my ideas. It’s simple, it can be anywhere and from anything. In this video I show creative process examples. Actually this whole video is a creative process example. I show examples of geometric abstraction, paint rectangle, show art with frames within frames and create my own paintings with geometric shapes. In the process of finding ideas or looking for ideas I explain the relevance to take a second look when something is triggering. Geometric abstraction of paintings with geometric shapes are interesting to look at. I also paint my idea of an abstract forest painting in the form of a blue and green abstract painting.

Materials
The art materials I use in the videos are not sponsored.
I prefer to work on multi-purpose paper, more info in this video: • How to choose the RIGH...
In almost all my videos I use with Winsor&Newton Galeria acrylics, if not, I will say so in the video.
Other materials I use are in random order: 5, 10 and 40mm brushes, palette knives, acrylics medium, Ecoline liquid watercolor, Lyra color pencils, Lyra soft pastels, oil pastels, Stabilo color pencils, paper palette pad and basic masking tape. I also use household items like a permanent marker, scrub sponge, scissors, paper towel, and so on.

Albert what I love about your videos is they are mainly intended (as you mention in the intro) to look at art and the world around you differently. You are truly the mindful art guru! Thank you!

Thanks, m S. I like to show how artists work, but how it can trigger your creativity as well. And to show that you can use their artwork as a starting point to go wherever. The focus is on the viewer, how to help them. To help you. Enjoy, Albert

Albert, you are a creative, motivating, inspiring and tender instructor. Thank you for the time and effort you spend in relaying your ideas to us. On the subject of frames, I myself started doing abstract by leveraging regular geometric shapes: overlapping them in multitude of ways and try to paint and shading them according to topological rules that I set myself to abide by. This lead me to discover Malevitch, El Lissitzky amongst others. You “Paint like Jasper Jones” episode inspired me to introduce non-regular shapes (organic, human body parts and figures to the geometric mix. This breathed new life to my style and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you again.

Hi Salim, thanks for sharing all this. Interesting to hear what you paint and how you came to change it. I love to be a part in that. But keep in mind you saw something and you decided to make a change or evolve. Processes are so interesting. That's why I started to share mine on KZread. I need this challenge of a video a week to keep painting. My best choice on a creative viewpoint. As a bonus I get to know you and all the other lovely painters, sharing their stories. Have a wonderful day, Albert

Oh my gosh Albert! I know this one was posted a while ago, but when I watched it this morning I was truly inspired - especially as you played with the frame within frame portion by cutting out the square from the two pieces and interchanging them. As always, thank you for posting!

Thank you for taking the time to create your videos for us. They are really great. i think frames do lots of things that help the viewerget more out of the art itself. It enhances and gives new perspective.

Frames catch our attention, what to do with this attention is the artist's issue. I like very much your random lines result, it has also a Christmas vibe (red $ green), a special decoration for these days!😁

New Subscriber. I found you when I was researching Cy Twombly. I watched your collection where you paint like famous painters- Twombly being my favorite, but I also love Jawlensky's abstract faces and that got me hooked. I LOVE how you demonstrate and explain! I tend to lean towards flowers, trees and landscapes in general, but now thanks to you, I tried a few other inspirations and have really enjoyed it. I "frame" almost all my images in one way or another- drawing black or white lines to pull an image "forward".

I think frames are not always where the eye goes. They can be under appreciated. The artist may be saying that the frame is important along with the art so it says Notice My Beauty also when frames are in a frame. Just my take on it
