So I just recently started to fish for the first time last month and had no info or knew anything about fishing. I started looking on here to get info and honestly your channel has helped me the most and made me love fishing. Me and my wife try and go every weekend. We don't have an ocean but we are a 2 min drive from Lake Michigan. And seeing everything you do and how you fish has helped me a lot in catching my fish every time we go. Thank you so much for your advice and tips. Keep it up.

One time I ran out so I went looking for baitfish with a cast net and I found a naturally occurring bucket o' shrimp. Took that and it was a good day. Must of been a good find because there were a couple of fishermen down the beach cheering me on. Nice dudes.

I was catching sand fleas today in Flagler county. They're still everywhere and should stick around for a while longer with warm weather. I also caught a bunch of finger mullet with my cast net and they are very abundant right now. Needless to say there's great fishing in NE Florida at this time of year with all this live bait around.

This is how I was brought up. We dont have a tackleshops with bait here, so you got your own. Good memories from summers running around gathering snails and small crabs to put on my simple fishingpole. A 2piece bambo pole with line, weight, and a non barbed hook at the end. Simple and really effective, and it was all I needed to get hooked on fishing. Btw, those snails get you everything. From small wrasse to cod

We use crabs for bait alot in the uk. U can make a big bait by putting a big hook through either the two back leg holes, obvs take off bag legs but save them for smaller baits. Or u can take off legs and elasticate them onto ur hook. Make sure u elasticate all crab baits

Great stuff. I do that frequently here in the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Those snails you found are a type of limpet. They are called many different names. My family being Portuguese called them lapas, as they remind them of the limpets back in the acores. They are commonly known as slipper limpets or boat-snails. P.s. they are great bait for porgie's (scup) , blackfish (tautog) , black sea bass , and much more, but hard to keep on the hook. They are also delicious for human consumption; raw, boiled, or in soups and stews.

Hi Senko, (this is how we do it in South Africa) start by breaking one of the rear legs and inserting your fishing needle to make a hole through the body, then carefully push in the hook until it comes out at the end, (TRY NOT TO BREAK THE BODY) then secure the hook to the body (flat) and pull tight to the body. Take the legs and tie them all together with ghost cotton you can leave two legs hanging for attraction. Let me know the outcome when you try this.

But if they stay on the hook they work great. I used them on a hi low porgy rig and I had the clam on on hook and a sand worm on the other and I was catching the fish on the clam.
