It's a thrilling message. I'm still in a daze as to how the Parker spacecraft has withstood the enormous heat of Sun's atmosphere. It's told that no solid thing will survive in the extremely hot solar field. If that's true how parker is still intact irrespective of the supposed carbon cover? How water can exist in such an unimaginable heat to cool the spacecraft?

I've been waiting and hoping to get an update on the Parker mission. Super excited to learn more of this very interesting work. I hope knowledge gained from this science helps us here on planet earth to be better stewards and citizens of solar systems, Galaxy and universe. Thanks for the most excellent reporting.

Should be impossible to believe if you understand that that the most heat withstanding element on earth cannot get anywhere near those temperatures. And that NASA lies.

Was just thinking the same thing.Going by the fact of the surface temperature on some planets in the solar system which some planet surface temperatures can well exceed 900 degrees. So with this in mind got to wonder how long the probe can maintain the heat of the Sun if at all. Thinking there hasn't been much luck In keeping a probe on the surface of planets at 900 degrees Fahrenheit let alone the temperature of the Sun..Plus lately all this take about a internet apocalypse. Now knowing that we have a probe close to the Sun I got to wonder.. Understanding the mechanics of the universe the sun is the driving force. Because catastrophic effects of electromagnetic pulses that definitely could cause this so-called internet apocalypse.. Keeping in mind that nearly everything in our daily lives is tied to the internet imagine life without it.. Science has warned of this very thing. Now mankind wants to go up there and interact with the sun. Hopefully without dire consequences to the planet or other plants.. Not saying that if the probe did crash into the Sun that it would create these catastrophic effects. But a wise man would definitely way out the scenario. Note I said A wise man not a greedy one. It's always wonderful to communicate with like thinking minds. You seem to have somewhat of an understanding of some of the consequences that could arise from this probe being that close to the Sun great observation on your part!!

I often wonder about all these fantastic claims that NASA scientists make from time to time... If they've made such awesome breakthroughs, where is the actual footage? Whyy use artists renditions & now CGI to to attempt to convey ideas, where is the actual footage from the probe? Another thing, how come the space station hasn't been able to produce an actual full image of our home planet? Don't tell me that the cameras are not equipped with enough power to zoom out & capture a full image of planet earth.... How about this probe robot sending true images of the sun back to NASA headquarters that the public can view, with their own 👀👁👀 & not through C G I lens.

I know right. NASA has probs on other planets sending photos back. The probably is some of the plants their try to observe offer planet surface temperatures of well over 900 degrees Fahrenheit, with this scenario in play probes can only function for a very short time before they are totally consumed by the heat of the surface of a plant. Now trying to convince anyone that there is a probe that close to the sun is very doubtful. I'm like you show us the evidence. Personally I think it's a big cock.. Simply because of the knowledge I have learned about their attempts to put probes on the planets with surface temperature nearly 900 degrees Fahrenheit.. They have sent back a few photos but the probs are so short lived simply because of the surface temperatures..

The corona of the sun is 2 million degree's F, this spacecraft shield is designed for 2500 degrees F. It also has no ability to magnetically deflect solar radiation to protect its electronics from electrical discharge and magnetic field of the sun.

the degrees F is not the vital statistic here. you can put your hand in a 400 F degree oven for a few seconds, no damage done. but try that with a 400 liquid and you'll have no hand left. this illustrates why temperature is not the important number to pay attention to when it comes to heat damage

I didn't think the surface of the sun was hot. Apparently it doesn't produce heat until interacting with the envelope of the earth. I thought it was a transformer that converted energy from counter space ? But then again you can't see the sun or the stars in free space. Only the earth and moon 😅

Just had a possible eureka moment but I might be wrong. The faint young Sun paradox puts into question of how there was liquid water on the early Earth's surface when the Sun's energy output was 30% less than what it is now. The Earths oceans should have frozen and so life could not have developed. The Parker Solar Probe has enabled us to see that the Sun's magnetism creates the faster solar winds; we also know that stars like our Sun, but younger in their development, create substantially stronger magnetic fields and resultant magnetic activity. Did the stronger stellar derived magnetic activity of the early Solar System drive stronger stellar winds and so compensate for the less solar energy output described in the faint young Sun paradox, at the time? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faint_young_Sun_paradox

It shows that the sun was created by something other than just space, This was an intelligent design., By real beings., Be it god or his workers. Fed by an unknown source. Although it looks like a magnetic fluid.,. Which is the source of everything in the universe. That creates and has energy. And that is self sustaining for that reason.
