Hi Lucia, I know you're new to this so I hope you don't mind advice. Your sweetcorn need a bit more space, so bear that in mind next year. Also, you can use the 3 sisters, which is where you grow beans up the sweetcorn plants and you can also grow a pumpkin to ramble among the sweetcorn too. I do it, but the beans are better when you grow them until they are actual beans that you can dry for winter cooking and keeping some for next season's seed. I think it originated in the native American tribes. I grew a butternut squash with them last year. People try to harvest green beans among the sweetcorn but it doesn't work so well. I used to use rhubarb leaves as weed suppressant on my bed at my allotment, and they are good for activating the composting bins. Also, seek out some Bocking 14 Comfrey, as it is great for making plant food and composting. Make sure you get Bocking 14 Comfrey as they flowers are sterile and that means they won't fly all over your plot and grow everywhere. However, even bocking 14 are quite difficult to get rid of so either, grow it in an area you know you will be happy with it or, grow some in a large container. I used to use the leaves under my tomatoes and raspberries as mulch, food, and weed suppressant. You're doing very well, and your plot is looking really good, congratulations. X

Hi Jimmy, thank you for your message. The corn was only put that close temporary as seeds had also on in, and I like to wait to see how many make it. Hence the empty space next to them. They have all been moved along now and I do have a pumpkin in. Last year as it was my only corner with beds ready I did the day thing, corn and butternut squash together. It worked really well. This weather just isn’t helping with my pumpkins this year so far 🤞🏼🤦🏻‍♀️
