Finally found the rare Tamar Blue Fluorite. Gem hunting in the UK

Andy and I have been searching for this for about 6 years.
we have found plenty of broken bits in the dumps but never Insitu.
I have kept the exact location of this spot secret and have just shown a few pics from underground and a few finds.
it took a bit of rope work and a 25m ladder to get to this and it's only a small pocket which is pretty much gone.
we worked hard to remove quite a bit as it's all starting to etch and dissolve and don't want to loose this last bit.

Darrnit you are Sooo Lucky!! I had a nice lump of Blue Fuorite when I was young!! Sadly my mother threw my Whole Geological Collection away ,when she turfed me out on my 18th Birthday!! Fossils ,Gemstones even some Gold Id found, all labelled, dated and nicely in a display case,,,to her it was "Just a box of stones and rocks!"!! It all went in the bin...Ouch!! ~Although, the Worst thing she ever did,was to sell my best friend, my Exmoor Pony,( who Id rescued! ),,while I was out at work!! Still, Im really chuffed you chaps have found some, you lucky pups!! Great work lads!!

Ah that really sucks. I hope you have managed to build up a new collection. Thank you, it's taken years of searching, not just on the ground but books and the internet and maps including lidar

Babel quartz is named after the tower of Babel. It's stacked quartz instead terminated quartz

Hi, I live locally and want to be able to just find the washed up fluorite, can you confirm if this is in Buttspill wood? I obviously don't want to delve into the mine but just search in the river area there. Thank you

Don't get caught removing anything from a beach. Check the local laws. Good luck too
