19:52 - Next video, Andy builds Tamiya's newly released 1/14 scale Safelite Autoglass repair van. LOL
The crack is just the first stage of "weathering" the truck.

@Preston Jaden Definitely, I have been using instaflixxer for since november myself :D
So happy to see this completed! I’ve been waiting patiently for months lol
I used to drive a tow truck, and my windshield was cracked too. Leave it, it looks more realistic, lol.
When I was a kid, I acquired a light wooden boomerang somewhere. I took it out to the back yard to test it out. On the first throw, it slammed into a rock and shattered. In other words, I feel your pain.
Hi Andy. If you are still interested (I mean if the crash didn't spoiled it) to illuminate the 4 extra over head lights, the model train guys have SMD led to be used in the trainswaggons and/or houses. The are ready assembled with resistors and cable ready to be connected. They should be small enough to fit in the housings, but not sure if the voltage is matching. But at worse you might to ad or change the resistor. (and thy are also coming in a various "white" colours) BTW just to tell you it was you clip of the Tiger I with winter camouflage a long time ago, which brought set me to this hobby again. 😊)
That is just incredible, Andy. Congrats on finishing it!
Oh common, that's pretty realistic weathering :D
Whaouw... great build Andy !!! The crack just makes it look even more realistic. Don't change anything. Congratulations. I love your armour builds but also like when you do something different. Can't wait to see your next videos. I know that besides the time you have to work in your store, it is a lot of work producing these videos and I just want to say you thank you for sharing your experience. You always make my day when I watch any of your videos.
Good to see that you have finished the truck and we can here from your voice to see your excitement nice job Andy Steve 🇬🇧
In the south, we mash buttons not smash. Thumbs up and thank you for posting.
Wow I didn’t realize how much work was in that wrecker!awesome work !
Great build Andy. And an excellent ground floor view of the store! I remember many months back you were asking what colour scheme to go for.
the volvo looks amazing andy well worth the wait shame about the damage but its fixable thanks for sharing and stay safe
Not your typical wrecker operator, get a tiny band-aid.........great video Andy.......thank you....
Looks outstanding! Too bad they didn’t engineer the front cab to tilt forward for access to the wiring. I was going to say how uplifting your video was, but the better compliment would be that you inspired me to work on yet another model. For that I say, “ thank you!”
I did exactly the same build. Very enjoyable. Had a few problems; made the mistake of using grey primmer - should have used white. Also couldn’t find an easy way to route some of the cables in the battery connector part without moving them under a side panels. I took the easy way out and left out the dash and seats, and smoked the glass panels - easier to manage the MFC wiring. Now become a “shelf queen” like all my models!
Great Job on that model Andy! Absolutely Loved the drive around with camera attached!!!
Hi Andy, I bought this model and enjoyed building it. Here in Australia it cost me $1400, $380 for boom actuator, I bought flasher bar lights and over cab led lights, MFC cost $400, finishing it off disappointed that tamiya did not supply leds to fit tail lights and long enough leads, having to buy extra for the boom, winches that did not work, I bought after market winches. As you said in video you cannot light up all the lights, again tamiya should have supplied enough leds to light up the whole truck. At this price range you would expect to be able to light up the whole truck. But with that said it was a good model to build.
Hi Andy, well done on the completion of this monster truck, as for the 'crash' such is life, all you need to do now is build the vehicle to go onto the back of the wrecker, keep safe and well, best regards from Australia.
Nice job Andy. That thing is massive!

It sure is!
I quite enjoyed the POV shots. It was like a nice little tour of your store from the floor!
Hi Andy , great job finishing the truck , with the cracked windscreen ive had some luck using clear floor polish (i use pledge floor polish ) to hide them , it does help to hide them quite abit just a small pipette drop on the inside , it kind of wicks into the crack and dries perfectly clear
Several days worth of build and several seconds of enjoyment before the fender bender. Can relate to how you felt. Now you are body shop man at 1:14 scale. Good part is you are a hobby shop owner so can get all replacements at wholesale.
Awesome job Andy you sure have the talent but above all the patience of a Saint. Well done and keep up the great work and this great channel. Pete in Sunderland, UK
loved the tour of the shop via truck cam!!! 😂👌
Nice build and a nice video, thanks for posting 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Amazing patience with all that wiring, it would have driven me round the bend, no pun. Looks great but I will stick to my 1/76 & 1/72 fast builds. Thanks for the video
Glade that you cracked on and got this cracking build finished. Sorry I'll stop cracking jokes.
Crashed it, oh nooooo!! Turned out GREAT!!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍
Cool build. I agree with some of the other comments that the cracked windshield adds realism to the build. Hiedy Ho!
Seen this when I was there the other day. Pretty cool build
Well Andy. It’s broken in now! Lol shit happens. Still looks great and it’s barely noticeable. Great job. 🇨🇦
I hope to start mine this week.
Another very cool r/c truck from Tamiya, don't understand why they don't provide a driver though! Just wish I could afford to buy one! Thanks for showing what i'm missing!
Excellent video as always nice idea about the vinal stickers just don't forget the LEARNER or new driver plates 😂 at least your honest in how and why you crashed 👍 and not hide or wait until you replaced the screen then upload the result of the build ( I could fill a scale junkyard with my planes cars tanks and SciFi vessels I've half built, completed then subsequently broken cracked partially melted and yes thrown across the room in frustrated rage 🔨) as a builder I'm sure you know accidents happen , keep up the great work
The crack just adds realism, the type of which many of us drivers have experienced. 😕

Yes cracked glass is actually more realistic. Being a former Driver, companies are tightasses even when federally regulated😁

Very cool truck Andy. Different from your normal armor. Love the armor but this was cool.
Awesome video & build!!! Think the cracked wind shield looks more authentic. Also, as you were driving that beast around, had a image pop in my mind as for decals to add: somewhere on one of those panel doors place some "tick marks" to indicate the number of vehicles that were towed (kind of like victory marks placed on fighter aircraft to indicate the number of kills).
Nice build Andy! Wow, a bit complex for me kinda reminds me a little of a mecanno set and ki cross. Please keep the build videos coming! Cheers!
I'd use the crack as inspiration for a weathered and roughed up tow truck.
Thing looks awesome Andy. Really great job 😊👍🏻

very good video, kit..... local hobby shop here in mackay australia had problems with tamiya paints... hard to get
That thing is a beast, awesome!
Such a cool design!
Great build! Would love to see it towing something as well!
Well, that's the r/c life. Super build ( finally lol ) . Keep them coming. How about more R.R. builds / R.R. dioramas?
Nice video Andy . To repair that window you can use Gauzy from ak interactive its a real amazing product to repair and restore clear parts.
Very very cool Fun video Andy Crashes happen....sorry But hey its weathering The bounce made it look n sound real. Cool Andy !!!! Keep em coming !!! Apperciate your video's!!!
Nice driving
I have a glass repair kit that I got for a similar accident. It's in my workshop, I'll dig it out and send you a picture. It may help you with the crack. It's the same liquid that they use to fix chipped windscreens.
LOL, only Andy gets a Fender Bender in a beast of a recovery truck. I feel your pain man.
Love this channel
Well, look at it this way. When you add the extra lighting, you can replace the windshield at the same time.
Great model and build Andy. 2 things that might have been mentioned already. Its to fast, need a 50t motor or lower. Also try to get the LED wires from the back of cab to rear body work hidden better.
Great job ! Could you publish a list of all specific options besides the kit itself that I would need (MSC, Actuator, ESC, Paint, etc.) Thank you !
Now you need to make one of the racing trucks to go with it 😀
Sweet looking rig.
EVEN DRIVER SKILLS WE ARE PLEASED WITH YOUR UP LOAD CHEERS 🍻 👍.
I thought you had drove it from the tabel to the ground and it was destroyed into pieces, i love the build and truck a lot! And it's just really a minor scratch wich is great in my opinion like all those build are spotless and in real life most trucks looks like they can use a new window or powerwash lol
I want to retire in Arizona and go to the hobby store every day. The crack in the windshield is just weathering, a rock flew up from another truck and hit it!
I'll visit this place one day, I live in Tucson.
That’s just awesome. Question- do you always apply a gloss coat to your tanks before you apply washes /Filters?
Fantastic build. This on puts Tonka Toys to shame.
That's awesome - such a cool thing. It seems a bit too fast though, was it in a high gear?
nice model
you should do a supermarket sweep style event where you have a trailer attached to the back and the customer drives the vehicle round the store stopping at a kit they want but it must all fit into the trailer and see how much they can fit in in five minutes.
I’m a retired cop. Heard that story before. Better check you have your CDL license and insurance card. 😎
Please build more big models like this

Are there going to be any new 1/16 armor models you would recommend?
Yo, the crack is like in real life and it seems like it hit the field of vision too, as an added bonus! Just run it until the next inspection is due, I'd say...
AND THIS ONE TOOK HOW LONG , NO IT LOOKS GREAT HOPE YOU V GOT A LONG LEG .
You could ask Tamiya for a replacment part. I had the same problem, when I accidentally broke the windshield of my 1/25 Revell Mustang.
Very nice built and a very nice truck but i think it's to bad the lights on top don't work (yet) and if i may say to bad the flashlight/lightbar on the roof should blink on and off pretty fast.....You have led's to make it work like a real rotating beacon
Andy just "Safe Lite "and they come out and fix the windshield for you. ;-) I should have read the comments before posting this. LOL
Ohh man not fun too crack it after a few minutes, but luckily the crack is up high and out to the side so you can easy hide it with a windshield-banner .
how many cans did you use? im just curious. if i go with tamiya paint i was estimating I would probably need at 5-7 cans of stray paint.
Nice truck I like it but I like all your videos and I have a question for you
Fially You did it!
awesome!
That re-creation of Evil Knievel at Caesar's Palace was probably a bit too much.😉
You should put a picture of the interior looking thru the roof on the black card stock?
LOL. Makes it look like a proper lorry then. as i know tons of lorry's with cracks and chips on there windscreens in uk, as stuff hit them a lot.
DOH! 5mins old and a smash :D
Andy, just a question about the paint. If you had run out of the yellow why not fade the paint into a red so you had a two tone paint scheme?
too bad about the broken windshield, but that was gonna happen anyway. Maybe you better put some fences like the ones on the highways around your shelves in the story? saves you from lots of accidents in the near future with RC driven products? ;)
Every Volvo truck has cracks in the windsheld. It is a feature of Volvo trucks, I see a miljon Volvo trucks everyday.
Did Andy ever build the Ryefield M4A3E8 Sherman ? I might of looked over it.
Ohh no still looks great
Nice Tshirt
Can these be geared so the speed matches the scale?
Damn what luck, and no need to file a claim seen its probably cheaper to replace yourself. thanks for sharing.
The cracked wind shield actually provide a realistic look. How about hiding it with a little weathering? The truck doesn't have to be shiny new to look good.
Does safelite do rc car window repair
Andy at some point you should build the war of the worlds alien tripod model kit made by Pegasus
Hey Andy do you want us to *'smash that like button''* (I did of course) like you SMASHED IN THE TRUCKS WINDOW???? Sorry for that silly joke but I just could not help myself! Love your show btw Andy it helps keep me sane during 'lockdown' here in Sweden.
