What settings do you use? Like what picture mode and then what hdr mode? I don’t like how you can’t change the picture mode without turning off the hdr mode. I can’t tell what picture settings makes games look the best. I have a s95c and for some reason this monitor doesn’t look near as good as that screen does(when it comes to colors) and I am hoping to get it to look more punchy and vivid.

I actually think Dell takes good care of their Alienware brand and makes sure it’s well-supported and well-built. A good warranty covering burn-in, quick firmware fix turnaround, and responsive customer support (which I’ve had to engage in the past for a laptop) all speak to this even though, sure it would be better if there were no production issues in the first place.

I play sports games as well as single player triple AAA games so it was what I decided on. My uncle who previously didn't care about monitors said he wanted my monitor after seeing Diablo 4 in hdr after I had calibrated that games hdr.

I'm stepping up from a AW3423DWF which is a monitor I absolutely love (so much so I want to keep it as a second vertical monitor in my setup). I doubt I'll sent it back for a replacement because A) I can't see the marks unless it's under direct light from a flashlight or other really bright light source, and I'm in a dark room, and B) it's a common problem going back a couple years starting with the original alienware OLED's... So, chances are I will get another and have the same issue if not worse... otherwise, the panel is great. Looks good with my ps5, browsing etc. The DV bug would have been a reason to send it back, but since they are gonna be fixing that I'll deal with it for now.

The ASUS seems better in a lot of ways, it’s real tempting, but personally the pros aren’t worth the huge con of having to deal with Asus support (or lack thereof). Not for something as prone to issues as a cutting edge OLED monitor. If it’s anything like Dell’s monitor, there will be issues and causes for contacting support, but don’t expect them to help you nearly as well as Dell will.

@@fallenlegion1828 Off the top of my head, pros of the Asus that Dell lacks. -USB-C 90W power delivery & DP alt mode (Dell's USB-C port is I think 5W and no display signal, only for peripherals) -KVM (useful if you have two computers or a work laptop) -Toggleable DSC (DSC is needed for 240Hz on either model, but I believe 120Hz can work without DSC on the Asus. DSC is known to cause alt+tab black screen delays and prevents the use of DSR, so the option to disable it might be nice). -Bigger heatsink & no fan. Potentially slightly brighter because of this -Uniform brightness setting (reduces overall brightness but makes it more consistent) -ELMB / Black Frame Insertion @ 120Hz. Makes 120Hz look smoother, good for consoles. Reduces brightness though, some believe the brightness loss will be too great to make this worth using. Needs testing. -24" & 27" window presets (though you can do this in Nvidia driver anyway) -Not curved, if you prefer that (for me that's a con)

General advice for any situation: - Don't rush to be the first to buy a new generation item, no matter what youtubers tell you - Wait for multiple independent reviews, user experiences and - ideally - competing products to appear - Don't get upset if reviewers try to make some money with their bonus content, it's their job and it's your choice to patronize them or not
