Final scene - "Cyrano"

Ойын-сауық

Final scene from the opera "Cyrano" by David DiChiera.
Roxanne (Madelaine) - Leah Partridge
Cyrano - Marian Pop
"Breathtaking arias by Pop and Partridge and the incredible comedic timing of Guèze lead us through the moving story of the boldest soldier, disheartened by a physical flaw, and a love triangle that could only happen on the opera stage."

"I saw the role of Cyrano as a baritone that had a complete range with multiple dimensions to his character," DiChiera explains. "Cyrano is very outgoing and a great swordsman. This needed music with tremendous thrust and power. Yet at the same time, there's an inner agony of a man who is living with a physical deformity and feeling that he can never find love."
"So I wanted a voice that was both powerful, but also was at home in the upper regions of the voice, since the music lives a lot in the upper part of the baritone range. Marian had that, as well as a tremendous amount of personality. I mean, Cyrano is, if nothing else, a tremendous personality. I needed someone that could inhabit that, both physically and musically."

Mulțumesc stimate domn Diaconu. Eu am făcut premiera mondială și încă 5 producții, din 2007 până în 2017, când a fost preluat și de alți baritoni. Mă bucur enorm pentru realizare! E ca și cum ar fi puiul meu.

Congratulations!!! What a long and difficult role, with lots of compromising passages in the tessitura. I absolutely LOVE this opera and have the complete audio. Would it be possible to get the complete video, please, only for my own personal academic purposes??? I am an opera scholar from Uruguay who works for the Ministry of Culture and Education. I absolutely love your voice. And would appreciate a prompt answer. With best wishes, JOHN DAWSON.

Thank you John. I appreciate very much your kind words. This opera is very dear to me cause it was mostly tested on my voice and I gave the first steps to this baby. Give me a few days on the video recording issue. I will get back to you. Ok?

@@MarianPop Oh, you´re quite welcome, Marian. The words I really meant them, you are a splendid baritone. And it must have really tested your voice, I believe you. I see this opera perhaps as the opposite of Bloch´s MACBETH, Enescu´s OEDIP or Chukhadjian´s ARSHAK II, which test the baritone in the lower register. Or even Nicolae Bretan´s gorgeous GOLEM. In this opera I believe that you poured your whole artistic soul, so I believe you. Yes ,please I will wait for the the video then, thanks so very much. You know my private e-mail address since I´ve also sent you an e-mail. Can´t wait to watch this one!!!! It´s a real pleasure talking to you. With best wishes, JD.
