    That is a very good point. 5 rich people die and EVERYONE talks about it, but then over 500 lives die on a boat and I never heard of it. There are 5 people spending millions of dollars to see the Titanic, while 500 painful lives trying to find shelter never gets talked about. It's really messed up the world is this way. edit: btw i still feel bad for the 5 people on titan, and i understand why it would get so much attention, but still

  • @zdvxr

    Sadly that’s how the internet works. Also if the event is weird or messed up it will get more attention. A titanic seeking tictac with Pakistani billionaires aboard imploding is so absurd that it has been the main news for a week.

  • @chocolateblocks

    @chocolateblocks

    It was also so talked about because there was a period when we didn't know whether or not they were alive. Picture this: 5 men thousands of feet underwater with a limited amount of oxygen, each person fully aware that they were taking oxygen from one another. That was a possibility in our minds, that these people were alive, with a possibility of survival. Meanwhile the other story of 500 people sinking, they had died instantly- essentially, and it seems like there was not much chance of them surviving, at least, not for 96 hours or whatever the people in the submersible had. It's mostly the media's fault too, not many people even heard about the 500 people on a boat thing. All in all, both are sad, it should be seen as so and I don't know if it's necessarily because of their status or wealth. That's a cynical way of looking at it. I think it really is just because of what the story was. And as the quote goes: "A single death is a tragedy,1 million deaths is a statistic." I think it's something that can be applied here. The 5 people were easy to humanize and feel as if they were people you could've known. When you amp that up to 500, it's harder to think of each and every person on board, so it was easy for news outlets to dramatize it.

    The reason media doesn't care about many unknown people dying, is because many ordinary people like us die everyday. When it is about famous people the media covers it as many people are concerned about them. I honestly don't feel devastated or pain for none of the people who died in the Titan or the poor people who died in the other ship, I didn't know them. Yes, I do feel empathy and sympathy for them, but our minds will eventually move on. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'd feel absolutely devastated if MrBeast had been there as I'm a huge fan of him. But I didn't know about the people on the Titan until the news were everywhere. If I happened to die today or soon, the only people that would care would be my family, the rest of the world can continue, same case with most people here in this comment section. The thing we can learn from both of these tragedies is to enjoy our lives to the maximum as any tragedy can happen to anyone at any time, and there are no exceptions.

Because I take offense that the efforts that resulted in the rescue of those people get completely ignored, especially when you consider the state of overburden the greek economy is experiencing, in part because of the 'poor people' who paid 5000 euros to be aboard the boat.

    Sometimes it feels frightening when you say no about something usually awesome as a tour somewhere and later find out you dodged a bullet. Everyone reacts and responds differently depending on the scenario in question in front. Some people lost loved ones and friends to something like this, People who either wanted to go but had other plans or were invited but had declined, and People who are pretty much on the sidelines when it comes to tragedies like these surface. However, anyone who reacts when a tragedy happens is up to them. wither this makes them fear what happens next or spending more time with their loved ones is their choice. Live it fully to show your standing on the stage that is life and show whoever that there was someone there that had been living and breathing and who had been dear to you.

And he knew about the risks! But Its really sad of how they have lost their lives. I hope that this is moral to all the people out there, not to spend your money on stuff like this, and do dangerous things like this. Its the company Oceangate's problem for building such a weak submarine! And playing it with a freakin controller. But obviously we cannot blame them for this whole thing. Those billionaires are the people who spent 250K to go there! It was their decision to go! And they would know the risks! So you could say they paid 250K for their death. But now there is nothing to talk about. It ended tragically. And the whole world was praying for them! May God give patience to their families. And that is so true. Almost 100 people were dead but no one cared. And im suprised that I heard but I didint even know that. People just care about money😢! Rest in peace!❤

    In the solemn final hours of The Tragic Titan Trip, we gather here to pay our respects and bid farewell to those brave souls who embarked on this ill-fated journey. As we reflect on the magnitude of their sacrifice, the air is heavy with grief and the weight of their untimely departure. They ventured into the unknown, hoping to conquer new frontiers and etch their names in history. Yet, destiny had a different plan, and tragedy struck mercilessly, snuffing out their lives before they could realize their dreams. Let us remember each one of them with reverence and honor their courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit. May their souls find eternal peace, and may their stories serve as a haunting reminder of the fragility of life and the indomitable spirit of human exploration. Rest in peace, valiant adventurers of The Tragic Titan Trip. You will forever be in our hearts, and your legacy will endure through the annals of time.
