I saw his regalia and all his royalty ... it made me think he is the definition of a spoiled kid. Afterwards I realized that he paid the highest price for that... his father raised his son Noctis just that he can sacrifice himself in the end.

Yeah... that's what made it so shocking and heartbreaking at the end, the game is so light-hearted and they just seem like a bunch of spoilt brats, especially Noctis, that the contrast at the end is so much more heartbreaking

people die in FF left and right, but we never been able to feel as much for the characters like in FFXV. Everything about this game is just so sad, from the story line, the side characters, the main purpose, the main villain, everything is just sad. The only happy redemption is the bro's love we get to experience through the open world. It all makes it much more heart wrenching at the end.

bomapdich I think what made this sad is that since we played through their past life and see them leave each other(or probably die) after all we've seen them go through in the past and them hear all 4 of them pushing the car in the credits along with the "stand by me" song. That's what makes it sad. Basically what I'm trying to say is "Their Brotherhood lives on"

I think it’s quite touching that Gladio’s words were “you finally spit it out” and he cried. Not because of the emotionality of the situation, but rather; when you look at Gladio’s character he’s always been about Noct improving and being the best he can be. He is *proud* of Noct for being vulnerable. The big strong warrior is moved to tears because his liege and friend was able to grow to the point that he could be truly honest, something many of us will never be able to be. That’s brilliant writing.

@@yaichino The whole point of the story is sort of the opposite of Final Fantasy XIII where the point was to "defy your fate". In Final Fantasy XV, the point is "sometimes your fate is inevitable, no matter what". That's the definition of a true tragedy and that's why it's so powerful.

Imagine Newgame+ mode didn’t erase the memories of before you started the new game so everyone remembers Noctis will die... Noctis: Ignis what’s with all the onions Ignis: uhh I concocted a new recipe (says while hiding tears btw)

What I liked is that they never hugged each other or anything. It made their relationship that much more impactful.

Gentle Singularity that was the one thing that made me the saddest. Not a single hug or "I love you." To me it would have been more poignant if it happened even once. Without that it's just highlighting how tragic and depressing Noctis' life ens up being. It's more than okay to show those feelings to your closest companions

I had this close friend group. We knew each other since basically birth, are families were intertwined. My parents and their parents babysat our older siblings, ect. Two of them died unexpectedly within a year of each other. Leaving just me and and my other close friend. And this game, and this scene, remind me so much of us. And it really really hits home. I love this scene, really well done. and I miss them very much.

I will say without a doubt this is one of the most moving moments I have ever experienced in a video game, and in most forms of media. I really connected with this.

it might be unfinish with tedious enemy locking system and short. but it doesnt take away the fact that it has the best final fantasy ending ever. manly tears

One of the best stories ever... Shit made me cry like a little girl knowing after you went on that road trip, got comfortable, started liking all the characters and then the game goes boom. I was extremely skeptical of this game for the first 2 hours of gameplay but then it went up from there. Truly a masterpiece

It's been months since the last time I cried, I had a rough life lately... But never cried... When I watched this one... At some point I cried like there's no tomorrow...

I did something like this but it was over a anime character. I don't know if you've seen it but the anime is called Banana Fish. The feels at the end. I legit bawled for like 30mins.

I didn’t cry for Noctis being sad, or him dying, or this scene, but the fact that the photo I selected to bring with Noct shows up right after this scene and it was my fav photo I took manually

I remember reading somewhere that in the game, Stand By Me is meant to represent Noctis' feelings towards his friends and what he wants to say but struggles doing so. At least in this version, the lyrics are a love letter about friendship.

this is probably the saddest scene in the whole game. What really drove the story was the relationship among these four guys, and it really was a great group story (whereas generally in FF your party members are just there to support you during the fight) and... seeing them basically bid farewell and Noctis express his feelings really brought up all the love I'd gotten to nurture for these four idiots on an adventure together. And they were going to be over, and that's just... too sad. Heartbreaking, even. If FFXV really did something right, it was its building of bonds among the four main characters, which basically only happened so that it would be broken. UGH.

I feel like this game has the most relatable friendship dynamic. You love your old friends but can not say it. It's not just about the shyness you have there. More like you just can't find the best word to describes your feeling. This game was the first game that hit me hard and made me shed my tears. I just couldn't let my boys go :( .

And most of all made no sense. They might as well have said "They all die. End." Also replace the "he's" in your last statements to "his"

seriously don't finish this. It is a great game but I regret playing it, it's too beautiful it fucked me up and throws me on the street. It's like one of those love story that you wonder why we ever meet in the first place.

Final Fantasy XV has the best story about friendship, particularly male friendship, that I have ever seen in a video game.

I was a little tearful at Noct reacting to Luna death...I eyes stung when he told his friends to "Walk tall..." oh but this scene....this one scene BROKE. ME. DOWNNNNN.......😢😢😢

I was balling my eyes out when Stand By Me was playing, and this scene just kept me going :'(

No background music but it's still manages to be so emotional and impactful and the fact that this is the final goodbye breaks my heart.

This game genuinely made me cry and it will always be near and dear to my heart.

The biggest impact this game had on me is the fact that Ignis lost his eyesight..every single moment just made me tear up and cry.I wish Ignis wouldnt have went blind but unfortunately this is just how reality is..truly my favorite game of all time.

My God, the moment prompto broke down my heart legit shattered. I was strong throughout the entire stand by me credits scene but when this scene came and prompto broke down, that did it. He broke down, they broke down, I broke down. Thank god for the episode ignis dlc..i love this game

I still feel like they all died and this was their last campfire together. The three of them were getting wrecked on the front steps of the building to buy Noctis more time and then here they are all together again. They were best friends in life and also best friends in death.

I've been an avid fan of the whole final fantasy franchise, it takes a whole heart for me to say that this is by far the best Final Fantasy game I've played.

Alot of guys have a hard time expressing how they feel inside. That's what makes this so touching. Alot of final fantasy games have a love story like Squall & Rinoa or Tidus & Yuna.

this scene made me feel sad and games don't make me feel anything but that part has to be one of the best parts in gaming history because it built a bond the entire game and seeing a band of brothers knowing one might not come back home ever again kills.

this did bring tears to my eyes. this game did a great job at getting me to grow attached to the guys. what a journey it was

Noctis always had a hard time voicing how he feels, so when he said this, I started crying a waterfall.

Watching this listening to Stand By Me of the wonderful Florence Welch has no price.

The only words to describe this event Noctis is going through are , “I’m ready to die, but I don’t want to leave you guys.” Acceptance, especially under these circumstances, is a heavy choice to make. And that’s the duality of it all. You are ready to make the ultimate sacrifice and yet it doesn’t seem fair. Doesn’t seem right. But, you want to regardless. Why? A higher purpose? A selfish wish to grant yourself? For the glory of it all? Because… because there is no reason? There’s no one right answer if there is even a right answer to begin with. I hope for everyone who has been met with a terrible decision to make remembers to at least make one. Don’t go silently into that cold dark night. Rage. Rage against the dying of the light.

Gladio crying is the most heartbreaking thing ever.

I didn’t cry when I first watched this scene, but I did choke up. The sacrifices these characters made for Noct, and he finally realizing how much he loves them right before going to his death is enough to make anyone with a heart tear up

See I was already sad seeing this scene feeling the tears but the moment I broke was when I saw gladdy try to hold back the tears eventually letting one out knowing what is going to happen soon

You know it hits you hard when noctis know that it's the last camp he will be with his friends, not just a comrade, bodyguard, kingsglaive, they are family, fighting deamons together and never let one family suffer

even after all these years this scene still never fails to make me cry
