Of all the story beats I remember experiencing throughout the game, the reveal that the problems of Abyssea were what ourr world would have experienced had we lost in Chains of Promathia was by far the most impactful to me. The fact that the ending after defeating Shinryu also was one of the only times in the entire game that we got to hear a rendition of the Final Fantasy Main Theme was also something particularly special. For all its faults, I still remember this expansion very fondly, if for no other reason than how it wrapped things up at the end. I'd been waiting for this one, thank you for the video!

thank you for covering this but i found you to rush thru this it would of been nice to know what mission that move the storyline along. I myself didnt have the money when aby came out so i missed out on a lot of world as it was building and was only able to enjoy this part a few years ago as the all in one pack came out thank you for coving this this part of the story

The difficulty there is that Abyssea mission were basically just "go here. Kill thing" and didn't have cutscenes associated with them. There were 9 quests in abyssea, three in each region, that were kill quests for a species of monsters that led to an NM of that monster type. Basically between each of the main story beats we had to clear a region. What I cover In there videos is the main story quests only, so this is all that was on offer, generally.

@@zantravmotovin4606 Yeah, Unfortunately this era of XI was sort of the "filler" era. It got a lot better in the next expansion though, which I'll cover at some point!
