Update: I FINALLY KILLED THE HELL HOUSE ON HARD!!! It took me sooo many tries, but it's finally done lmao 😂

I really love how Sephiroth is depicted here. Very faithful to the original game. Truly a madman. You can see his broken, twisted psyche after the whole Nibelheim incident. Even in his eyes.

You know what‘s creepy about this ending and Sephiroth in particular? Remember when he told Cloud - and by proxy: us - that he would never be „just a memory“ in Advent Children? Guess what he would have been, if Square only did a one-to-one remake of the original? Right, just a memory. What is he now? A real threat to our memories of the original and a real threat to our party. So by doing this, Square aims to recreate the feelings we had while playing to OG years ago, not just the story. Can‘t wait to see where this unknown journey will lead us. 👍

Per se, Zack is still dead on Cloud's timeline. But with you fighting and defeating FATE, it creates a new possibility (Zack being able to live). Its also somehow prevented Jessie and Biggs dying, but on Cloud's timeline. He's gonna see Aerith again! It's all possibilities in Zack's timeline!

My theory is that Jessie and Biggs are only alive on Zacks timeline. Because with the both of them during the plate falling scene. Avalanche now has an extra pair of hands to get them to safety.

It feels like Aerith totally senses Zack's presence there. Cloud keeps walking while Aerith just stands still with her hand out to feel the rain, while Zack passes by with Cloud. It feels like the rain symbolizes this, as you see the dry cracked ground... it doesn't rain a lot here. Like in Crisis Core, it rained when Zack died. Now it rains when he lives at that same moment just in a different reality... Also, notice the little Stamp chip bag... It is a different dog breed. Not little Stamp. Sooo beautifully done Square! Omg.

I had the same reaction w/Zack. I'm soooooo hoping he gets to have a big part in the 2nd part of the game

Little note most people missed. When Barrett is killed by Sephiroth, and then revived by a whisper. That is actually foreshadowing to Zacks first scene. If you notice the few whispers there among the shinra soldiers. One can say they might be there to revive some soldiers, to make sure Zack is shot in the back carrying Cloud. No more whispers across all timelines, means in one of them Zack actually kills all the soldiers. And there are no whispers to make sure he dies. So therefore he lives and makes it to Midgar with Cloud. Could explain why Biggs and maybe even Jessie is still alive. With the extra hands during the plate scene, one of them are able to get them to safety before it all comes down, or prevent most of the plate from falling. Could be the reason we see the 7th heaven sign.

Your reaction to Zack's survival was awesome! I had the same reaction and i'm super happy about this new direction. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in the next chapter! Thanks for posting this video, it was really fun to watch your reaction to this game ending!

zack is universally loved ff character

You'll benefit from watching Maximillion Dood on the Easy Allies podcast. The game also warrants a second play through whether you do watch that podcast or not..Now you know what the ghosts are think about a few things: Why does a ghost show up at that specific point? Hint;-its never random Why did Sephiroth show up at certain points and what effect does that have on the timeline? again, its never random. Its not for Remakes sake of spicing things up. Once you approach the game with that kind of mindset you will truly understand what Remake *is* and whats going on.

Loved the reactions! I was similarly moved. Looking forward to #2!!

I never played Crisis Core so it shocked me that Zack’s last stand is an (almost) exact replay of the Crisis Core ending. Only thing that kinda killed it for me was when he says “as a SOLDIER” instead of “as SOLDIER” but I’m not gonna hold that against him (eh close enough lol)

Omg I had to watch other FF7R ending videos and I just realized you can fight with Tifa instead!! I guess it depends on your choices early in the game! Just how I got the Aerith cut scene instead of the Tifa or Barret one at Aerith's place 😮

I am SO GLAD this happened! I never did like the fact that Zack was killed by stupid shinra mps just as they were reaching Midgar. Now that that's been changed in an alternate timeline the possibilities are endless! Perhaps in part 2 along with Zack's help they'll be able to actually SAVE Sector 7 from being destroyed somehow. That's one possible outcome!

I've been on a spree watching people react to Zack surviving and yours is one of the best. Looks like you had a good time! Hoping for the next game to come out sooner.

22:08 Wait, how did you get Barret in that cutscene? In my playthrough it's always been Tifa who attacks Sephiroth at this moment. I have watched a lot of people reacting to this moment and they get Tifa as well, with Barret arriving with Red XIII later...

That is very interesting ending ngl. As a person who is not a huge fan of FF it really made me dig into it. I am eager to see what comes next, but I can see such a reaction after experiensing Zack's death in Crisis Core lol. Very emotional one. But I still have so many questions that just not answered. Like did Cloud just wished something for people who died around him to be back or something? Biggs was super dead, he died in Cloud's hands as well. So I guess there are like 2 timelines kinda merging or something? Since the ending of the DLC didnt answered the questions but added more! LOL but nice job, I am hooked.

I got one word to sum up what direction FF7R is going in; multiverse. Biggs still being at the Leaf House, Zack surviving the attack, the original games/Advent Children, anything can happen in this new game and yet it still doesn't render the original game non-canon. SE really struck a strong balance between keeping everybody happy, really. Well... everybody except the assholes who want to be miserable regardless, but they're a lost cause. If you don't like the new directions that FF7R can go in? You still have the original you can play. I, for one... I'm kinda glad they really subverted my expectations with this one and delivered something memorable. FF7 Remake is definitely the top contender for Game of The Year for this year unless Cyberpunk 2077 delivers on what it promises and then some but those are gonna be your top 2 contenders for GOTY: FF7 Remake and Cyberpunk 2077 with Doom Eternal, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Ghost of Tsushima, and maybe Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 rounding out that list.

Had no idea this scene changed on who helped you first 21.35 for me tifa came to help me. Had no idea it could change Didn’t she got Barrett too. I had tifa and then Aerith come

"Gasp, is that Zack?" Of course it's Zack, he's the only person in the FF multi-verse dumb enough to wear a sword like that with the blade facing down, where it'll slice his calf if he starts running.

The Wispers represent the original game's storyline and they're going to do whatever it takes to ensure that the original story plays out as its supposed to. Well by killing the Harbinger of fate you destroyed the Wispers, and by doing so they can no longer ensure that the original story happens and as a direct result changed past and present events and essentially breaking from the original story, now just to clarify Zack IS in fact alive because the Wispers being destroyed ment that they couldn't ensure Zack dies like he was supposed to. I also think Sephiroth is aware of this and that destiny as ordained that he won't succeed In merging with the planet and will be defeated in the final battle in the north crater. So perhaps Sephiroth is trying to prevent the events from the original game from happening, so by killing the Wispers and altering destiny you did Sephiroth a huge favor and played right into his plans congratulations.
