Thank you so much for the translations! The most interesting part is the last line where Sephiroth says he’s supposed to have killed Tifa. 😱 I’m very excited for for this game and more news.

It's all very exciting! Although it's a bit hard to process with XVI so close to dropping!

I had wondered if the last Sephiroth line about "you know I killed her" could maybe be a misdirect and actually related Aerith, but this cleared that up

Yeah, I think most other languages also mention Tifa specifically. But it definitely could have been a misdirect judging by the English trailer.

I was waiting for this. I suspected there were only small differences this time around, but I'm glad it's here nonetheless. Great work as usual!

Fantastic Translation! Thank you so much for making this, as even with my meager skills I could tell the English localization was "off". BTW at 1:18 could you also translate it as "you might say those are Sephiroth's 'clones'"?

Sure, just not literal clones in the sense of cloning. I think this is what is generally translated as Sephiroth clones, just thought I'd point out an alternative.

The German translation is almost completely accurate to the Japanese original. Yet, when the first FFVIIR game came out quite some people (and even some game critics) complained because the German translation was different to the English version... Which is super weird to me, because they should know it's originally a Japanese game...

I guess they could only compare it to the English version of they don't understand Japanese. But it is very interesting to see how these games get translated not only in the English context. Thanks for sharing!

that wasnt he point back then. if you have english voice overs and german subtitels, you can sometimes not really follow the dialog if you listen and read at the same time.

There's a faithful translation project for ff7r on nexusmods released earlier this year that's dead in the water due to lack of contributors/manpower, would there be any possibility you guys could chip in to see it completed?

That sounds like a bit more than we can chew at the moment. We're already spread thin trying our best to create content for the channel whole also taking care of our families and jobs. Sorry about that.

Japanese version: The planet is stronger than Aerith In Tifa's memories she doesn't remember Cloud being in Nibelheim 5 years ago. Aerith: Are you asking me that? (confused) (Rufus or Tseng might be speaking) Spiritual Energy is needed to save their dying Planet. The Whispers could be Manifestations of Sephiroth (Advent Children vibes) If they (Shinra?) follows them then they can lead them to the real Sephiroth. Tifa asks Cloud: Why do you think he appeared now? I wonder what he was doing these five years. Barrett: Is this also a Beast of Nature? Red 13: Seems like we woke it up (They fight the giant rock monster) Yuffie: What is this??? GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! T^T (Poor Yuffie LOL) Sephiroth: There once was a monster. This monster read the hearts of people. . .And changed its shape. Showing the faces of those you fear, of those you love. Controlling people. Whisper: Reunion! Crisis Core Tifa: (with sword in hands) How dare you. . .My dad. . .Everyone in the village!!! (Charges at Sephiroth) Sephiroth: (Grabs her sword) I'm supposed to have killed Tifa. (throws Tifa and slashes her with her sword, blood spraying through the air) Sephiroth: So who is that? FFVII Rebirth!!! (Coming out early 2024 on two Discs)
