You are so right about that. We never get any development in the relationship between Noctis and Luna except in flashbacks and even then it was more Luna teaching Noctis.

Yet Lunafreya is still canonically Noctis’s wife and one true love. Not Stella, she’s a dead concept and never to be seen again. Let her go. Y’all Luna antis are way too pressed. EDIT: love how pressed I made y’all with my valid comment.

@@Lunafroyo and Stella with what little we have of her is still an infinitely better character, at the very least she wasn’t designed to be just a plot device and had a bigger role to play. Canon or not Luna is a hollow replacement of a better character that never saw the light of day

Lunafreya is just some overglorified receptionist to the gods with that covenant bullshit they made a “chosen king” do...the kid was already raised for sacrifice like a lamb and the dumbass gods basically put red tape to that shit too... IDC what they say, Noct’s sacrifice was pointless because he was “destined and preordained” by the crystal thus taking away his agency to do so plus the “sacrifice” was not that much impactful by the fact that there was no real reason Noctis even cared about Eos other than that he is supposed to. The closest we ever had was that dumb thing with that old dude Jared who had basically zero screentime to be any form of impact.

This whole scene has more story, mistery and implications than all Noctis x Luna scenes put together. All the scenes showcased of Versus XIII felt iconic.

And then Final Fantasy XIII happened. No, really. That's how the game got cancelled/reworked into Final Fantasy XV. XIII is why.

@@NebLleb Not exactly true. It was called Versus XIII because it was supposed to be the game that came out along side XIII. It got cancelled because Square got bored of Nomura fellating himself.

I feel so robbed everytime i watch ANY versus XIII content

I honestly find it sad that Noctis had more character development with Stella in just a (almost) 4 minute scene from a cancelled game than he did with Luna for an entire game (FF 15).

Hopefully one day Nomura reveals what the story was here. In a distant day when NDA is over.

From what I hear, as far as they got was a Romeo and Juliet esque story with both of their respective nations going to war and it eventually leads to Stella's death

To this day I feel so robbed. This had the potential of being an unpresedented story in FF universe. I wish to this day this story can see the light. 30 min of trailers had a lot more story, character development, and chemistry than 40+ hours of what we received.

Stella seems like she would have been WAY more interesting than Lunafreya. At least we got a really good female companion in the form of Jill in FFXVI 😅

I remember seeing all the promo footage of Versus 13 and Stella looked so cool and mysterious. It's such a shame we never got the original vision of this story.

Poor me, who didn't know versus 13 had been cancelled and played the whole game watching this trailer and kept waiting for stella to show up during my play through 💀

Love this version of Somnus so much. Can’t wait for the next arc in kingdom hearts and see what Nomura’s got planned with this verses 13 story.

Choosing a boy's band as the only "protagonist" was one of the worst choices the development team made for this game. I didn't want to have to watch all the time, metrosexuals without any charisma, walking back and forth just to please a specific and "rotten" audience. The girls have a lot of appeal and charisma in the few moments they appear.

I guess the original script about FF XIII was revealed in FF crisis core.The lost chapter 4 of Loveless.The princess Stellar is the so called enemy of Noctis.Their story was symbolized in that poem such as black dog.

Stella looks so badass

Ngl, I prefer Stella over Luna. She's much more interesting as a character. Luna was just kinda there to serve as a plot point for Noctis. There wasn't anything that really drew me to her character and I honestly didn't care about her relationship with Noctis because there was zero chemistry.

This is amazing. The females voice was incredible! Man this was giving me goosebumps the whole time.

Yeah, I haven’t seen a dub that natural and believable in years. Made Stella feel like a completely real person. Honestly kind of didn’t fit with what Final Fantasy has become these last twenty years. Well, there was Sazh. So, this fan-dubbed cancelled character, and the dad bod shuttle driver from Cocoon are the most relatable Final Fantasy protagonists we’ve had since Final Fantasy IX. Yikes. Why do I give this series so much of my time and energy?? 😂

This is awesome! I think Final Fantasy Still also made a fandub of the V13 trailer.

I hope Nomura recreates this scene in KH4 like he did with the car scene in Re:Mind. He could swap out Noctis for Yozora and Stella with the Nameless Star.

I can't tell if XV voice or this voice is better. They both sound good

This would make me wish that Square didn't take Versus 13 away from Nomura and just let him finish the game that he wanted that way he wouldn't go turning KH into Versus 13 (Yozora and KH4)

These voice dubs actually go really well for Stella and Noctis, and their interactions with the voiceovers make it better.

I still need this game.

We got Noctis and Luna in XV. Now it looks like we'll get Yozora and Stella(?) in Kingdom Hearts.

I wish they could have done ff versus XIII as a prequel to noctis story

They should complete this as alternate timeline now where noctis lives

Hope we can see Stella and Versus 13 getting revived, it would be sad to just leave them like this.

Too late. This game truly was a product of its era. Nomura has moved on from this aethetic, it's obvious with how cartoon-y and lame Yozora looks compared to this Noctis, Lightning, and Cloud. Maybe the new engine in KH4 will fix it

@@bluemoon4944 yes it was, It was a disaster when it came out, it didn't live up to the expectations that many of us had even though it had been in development for like 10 damn years. The first half of the game was open world and was decent but the other half of the game seemed like a race to finish the game. In addition to the fact that it felt too incomplete, only when they released the DLC for the other characters did the game look more complete and a little better in the "royal" version. But even so, the game was still not what many expected. And I can go on naming many other things but I don't want to make the comment so long. If you liked the game, good for you, prick, but for those who don't, well... we can give our opinion whatever.

hope this spirit can live on in ff. it seems these days they are going all in for the western high fantasy vibe but the impact and yearning from the fanbase for going more in the direction of what nomura and se built up to with V13 is unmistakble. a girl can dream

There are different units Square-Enix making FF games. They all have their inviditual goals. Unit 3 made FF16 which has Yoshida. He likes the western dark fantasy style more, it shows on FF14 and especially in FF16. Nomura got fired from this project, shit got scrapped and made into FF15 by another unit. Nomura full work goes now to FFVII Remake trilogy and his own pet project KH.

This was suppose to be the Goddess Etro's game. 😪

This voice acting is great! When I watched this it gave the scene more meaning than it did before and I just wish we can see what was meant to be not just story-wise but Noctis and Stella wise of course. It's interesting too because this was supposed to be a Romeo and Juliet type story so that part in the trailer with them about to face off plus gave this part a more beautiful mystery. Now I know some people say that Stella is no better than Luna but that's just not true. Luna while not a completely bad character (tho the changed story is not that good too mixed up) she is just a shell of what Stella was supposed to be. The original story was going to revolve around Stella, she would be the bad guy in a way but not because well the Shakespeare quote did say "There is no good or bad just two sides to a story" and that all screams more character development. I mean come on. She's just too cooly intresting! Nomura too also thinks Stella is a better character than Luna, now while he hasn't diretly said this he's made it clear that 15's story is not that good. I just hope this whole origanal story gets out somehow thru. Yes thru KH4 it will but it will of course have to be changed some so it's not what I want all the way; just glad Nomura's doing that and I hope he tell's what was meant to be and that Square Enix stops being so extra and at least give this game a second chance. Stella will always be one of my favorite FF characters even if she never see's the night of day. Also Noctis, *sigh* he would of been done way better in this game too... Anyways nice job man lol

I don’t blame Square for screwing with his work. Nomura was coming up with all of these cool ideas, character designs, set pieces, trailers, etc. but he wasn’t tying everything together. I heard that Gentiana was named something generic like “the lady in black” for years and Nomura had no idea who she was or how she fit into the story. Tabata had the unfortunate duty to make something out of nothing, because all they had under Nomura was all style/fluff without substance and there were no signs of him getting development on track. The final product may be flawed with some cool ideas, but it’s _something_ that otherwise was going to be nothing.

He screwed himself up. Nomura was always the creative guy on the team, but he never knew how to work out his ideas in a planned and cohesive way. It's one thing to have a brilliant idea, it's another to know how to plan and execute it. A classic example of his "genius" limitations is the FFVII AC movie which is full of cool stuff but hollow in substance.

@@UndertakerU2ber I 100% blame Square. It's not like he had all the time in the world. Look at how many spinoffs KH had while he was working on this FF spinoff. Then he had to do KH3 on top of that. The moment he was finally free and had time to work on it Square was rushing this game because they were in the red with failure after failure after failure. You could tell how desperate they were because they made it a mainline game when it was just meant to be a spinoff. It's awful what happened with Tabata, because given time he can make gold. He's responsible for Typo 0, after all. At least Square learned their lesson for FF16 and let Yoshi-p cook.

Only Final Fantasy game I've ever played was XV, and the only reason I played it was because of the trailers for Versus XIII I saw when I was younger. While I enjoyed XV, it could've been a lot better based on the trailers that were released. Just another case of what could've been.

I’ve written better dialogue in my primary school textbooks than whatever the hell this was. I’m seeing why SE vetoed this garbage, Nomura really needs to just design characters at this point. I heard this came to him in a dream, must’ve been a fever dream .

Well let's just pretend this is after, couple of yrs later Luna and noctis forget each other and noctis is finally acting his character. Before it was character in development that's what it kinda feels like. He rebuilds insomnia and takes over, hes king and cants remember luna, luna cant remember so she calls herself stella and their memories and souls got reborn from etro blah blah 😂

Can't wait for the next kh4 trailer and hopefully we'll see yozora and his stella? I mean seriously though how dare you square enix for canceling nomura's dream project

It was part of the same universe as XIII initially. Then it became it’s own thing when it became it FFXV and got its own lore and basically became something else entirely
