I love the fact that this exists, it's 2022 and there should be no reason for Somnus to get a remix like that, and yet here we are. Knowing that the concept still exists and is getting acknowledged brings me so much joy, even better if it would be a lead-up to something in the future...

I find it very interesting how a lot of the synths Mizuta uses in this level's music sound an awful lot like the synths that he and Hamauzu were so fond of when composing for the FFXIII trilogy. Maybe it's unintentional, but the connection it creates between XIII and XV (at least in my mind) made this level even *more* melancholic for me. Thinking about what could have been and all that.

Never thought of it that way until now, which is pretty crazy. It has this sort of sad futuristic ambience to it.

As a kid that waited in for FFV13 , this theme brings some nostalgic comfort. Though FF15 was a good game, I'll never forgive SE for throwing away Nomura's vision for Noctis story.

Nomura barely had a vision with him changing things or coming up with things to add willy-nilly. That is why he could never complete the project and they moved him to something he could. All while putting the pressure on Tetsuya Nomura to finish what was barely started while keeping as many revealed concepts as possible.

@@Lex_Nocturna You literally failed to understand what I said. He wasn't building on detail. He just kept adding ideas, whether he thought they fit or would work. The team either disagreed or couldn't implement said ideas. He was not coherent but all over the place.

@@griffionow1468 I believe it was out of Nomura's control, I think there were tons of engine problems, by the time they figured the engine out a new generation of consoles came out, and I assume Square decided it would be better for him to work on KH3

@@dovax The engine swap was definitely part of the problem. I don't know if Nomura had as much to do with working with Luminous Engine WHILE it itself was being built. But yeah, the engine swap def didn't help. Nomura still put too much on his plate and should have focused on the details instead of throwing every new idea into the pot. I'd love to see what semblance of the original idea he did have someday tho.

I finished SoP last night, and when I got to this stage and heard this song, I started to cry. The memories of playing through 15 and seeing everything with versus 13 and how much Nomura has been sprinkling it into KH, SoP, even Dissidia. You know while Square is done with it... He never was, and until he can tell this story, even if it's a different game, he'll remind us and Square that for him, it isn't over.

The best way I could visualize this song is Noctis floating with his heart above him. He’s stuck in limbo, waiting for his return as the music calmly reminds us of a better time. Fortunately, another figure is there to take his place in the meanwhile. Hearing this tune once more reminds us of him: Yozora.

It genuinely breaks my heart to see footage of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, even as a massive fan of FFXV. I love that game, platinumed it, paid extra money to get an early copy days before release and I've said that in a couple of other videos related to FFXV so if any of you are seeing this again then sorry, haha. I was just really happy to be able to play it before most of the world and at this point I've put in hundreds of hours on it on both PS4 and PC version. And yet the thought of Versus XIII still haunts me. It's one of the biggest what ifs in gaming. And when I saw Verum Rex in KHIII it was clear Nomura couldn't let go of it either. I do hope a Versus XIII or Versus XV if it needs to be called that becomes an actual game someday.

@@ultimamage3 Very stoked first and foremost as a long time KH fan. I didn't enjoy KH3 as much as I wanted to but I have the feeling that this game will right all the gameplay wrongs KH3 had. As far as what was shown, it looked incredible. It's nice to see the "fantasy based on reality" aesthetic is going to be featured majorly in a world in KHIV. It's no Versus 13 but I get the feeling Nomura's not gonna give up on that vision until it comes to fruition eventually in the form of a remake. This is absolutely wishful thinking on my part, but I just get that feeling. Until then, I can't wait to explore that world in KHIV and enjoy the game whenever it comes out. I hope it brings back a lot of the eerie mystery and vibes of KH1, COM and 2 and I hope the game has a more focused story than KH3.

This is not calming, its sad and melancholic. Something we'll never get the true vision of, like a distant memory you can never fully recall.

I remember in 2010 I had this dream that I was listening to an ambient variation of Somnus. It sounded very similar to this version! …I’m seriously getting goosebumps…😱

The name is so fitting " Will You Resist or Accept" They accepted their fate only to resist in Dawn of the future and well only the future will tell if the director will do the same

If Kingdom Hearts IV and Verum Rex are anything to prove, it's that he chose to resist. He would bring it back, no matter what. Because that's how dedicated he is to the mythos he created for Versus XIII. And I commend him for that.

We getting closer. Just a bit further my prince. After all these years since I was a teen I have been waiting for Versus my whole life. Now 33, Nomura is keeping his word and Kingdom Hearts 4 is the start. Whether Verum Rex or Versus The TRUE KING is coming back. Oh and SCREW XV!!!

@@Jose_Doe There’s a lot of stuff that had to be cut, and some of what people were promised in trailers never happened. Some of it we were lucky to receive through dlc, the rest is pretty much lost.

I missed out on the versus hype. What made FFV13 special?

It's special to me because of the history behind it and none of what was shown in VS trailers made it in the final game, Nomura took the downfall for the project and now everything else at SE, I just want the man to get the game he deserves and not mindless hate, the development of VS is a massive story, If you're interested in VS there is first a LOT of research to be done. 💀

@Dwip_po_po We don't know fully what happened internally at Square, but we know China had issues with the original Story, and they took Nomura off to "Make games only he can make." In my eyes, it's an excuse, a lot of what we know doesn't scratch the surface

@Oliver's 50th Account Perhaps it's a reference to XV Noctis as well. Rather than being purely Versus XIII, Yozora bears some aspects to FFXV Noctis. Heck, some are theorizing Yozora is the NOBODY or HEARTLESS of Noctis Lucis Caelum
