Am I alone in my love for this game? It catches alot of shit for being "baby's first RPG", but i loved it growing up.

Not at all. It's a fairly decent game, with a wonderful soundtrack. I'm down with it.

I often wonder if people would like it more if it were called "Final Fantasy Legend IV" or even something SaGa. Or if it wasn't the "replacement" of FFV. :P

It's disliked for a lot of reasons: we supposedly got this instead of FF5 because Square thought US RPG players would find FF5 too hard (the Japanese release is literally "Final Fantasy USA," and that's the same reason that our FF2/4 is WAY easier - I think there's an even easier release in Japan, FF4 Easy Type), and because the dialogue is pretty cheesy and overall the game doesn't play like an actual FF. I feel like it's actually more likely that by the time we would have got 5, 6 would be out in Japan, just like what happened with FF2, by the time we would have got it the NES wouldn't have been nearly as relevant due to the upcoming/already available SNES, and 4 would have been out a little while over there (up until FF7 we were getting the series at least a couple years after Japan did). On its own merits, it's a pretty solid game overall, and it's a lot like the Game Boy SaGa/FF Legend games, they shared a team from what I understand, and it's pretty easy to see that - the graphics are similar, and FFL3 also had the jumping mechanic going on. The music is also a very strong point that even haters can't deny is pretty sick.

I always wanted to see a sequel with Benjamin coming back from his journeys to an obviously not very happy fantasy land that's been in desperate need for his help.

I forced my little Sister to play through this game. It's the only RPG she has played / beaten still to this day. Was very proud of her.

Thank you. Why TF does the video comment say it starts at 0:43? Did they just type a random number and think nobody would notice?

I was one of these guys who stayed in the beginning area to get the money to buy the weapon only to be told to ****off because even if you have the money the game won't let you buy it.

Man, this brings back (bad) memories. My family took so long when I was a kid to figure out the Falls Basin puzzles; I eventually had to take the reins at the Lava Dome despite being scared as shit at video games; and then the whole Otto quest because we accidentally skipped over the bit where Otto told us where we were supposed to get that damn thunder stone...

Yeah, that "only giving you important information a single time." was a recurring problem for this development team. It was the same people who made the SaGa games (Final Fantasy Legend 1-3) All notorious for doing the same thing. "okaywehavetogettothepowerplanttoturnoffsuzakusforciefieldwellmeetyouintheeastsubway" "Wait, what?" "Come back safe!" ... "Come back safe!"

It'd have to be awful block. It's the 2nd worst game I own. Waldo is practically impossible to make out due to the low resolution.

The interview at the end and the Where's Waldo competition while not visually exciting for the viewer, was still lots of fun.....and something that wouldn't be done at GDQs anymore :( GDQs feels like a business first now.

i love the videos I must say, however its troubling how much money RPG limit break is making off this... how much of that money is actually getting donated??? Is this another AGDQ knock off where u guys get all this cash and barely give up the donations? they don't even give 10% I hope you guys are doing the right thing
