Final Fantasy IX (PS4) - Ozma Boss Fight

Ozma is the super boss of the game and the hardest. You need to be prepared coming into the fight or it will be extremely difficult to win. You should be at least level 60-70 before coming in. You should power up dragon crest if you haven't yet to do 9999 damage every time (requires you to kill 100 dragons). Shock is also very effective and if you have good enough strength then Steiner will also do 9999 each attack. Quina can be useful by using frog drop, but it requires you to catch well over 100 frogs to get it to 9999 damage. You can also power up thievery for Zidane but I didn't because it takes a ridiculous amount of steals and isn't necessary. I brought in Eiko as my healer but Dagger also works. The only time you are really going to want a good healer is when Ozma uses meteor which is pretty random unfortunately. I recommend having auto haste, auto regen and auto reflect as well. Make sure you have equipment that allows you to absorb or lower the damage of shadow and holy attacks. You can steal his items if you want even though you can get all of them somewhere else at some point I believe. Dark matter which is one of his items does 9999 damage if you use it on him so you could have Zidane or Eiko/Dagger use one of those if you don't mind getting rid of it. One last thing is Ozma will automatically fill up his atb bar when you do an action so try to attack when he's in the middle of doing a move while the animation is still going in order to prevent him from getting more free turns.

A classic example of a secret superboss, the ultimate test for the best of the best players. Secret bosses have the potential to be even stronger than the final boss albeit they’re optional. A superboss often appears in RPG games like this, often in the form of something mysterious and is meant for the ultimate challenge, not intentionally 100% fair. Plus, I’ve always seen giant mysterious spheres as something potentially divine anyways.

Ozma is just winged dragon of ra spheree mode the rainbow version.
I can't believe after all of these years I finally beat this boss for the first time on my first try today. Though I got extreme lucky because once Ozma used Meteor, somehow everyone except Zidane got wiped out. I had to quickly revive everyone with double casting Full life after using Phoenix down on a Tranced Eiko. I also used Vivi instead of Steiner since he used Return Magic to cast Doomsday back on Ozma . Freya and Zidane had to put in most of the damage though. Curse and Flare star also almost defeated my entire team at one point too.

compared to FFVII(Emerald Weapon) FFVIII(Omega Weapon) FFX (Nemesis) FFXII(Yiazmat), Ozma is the easiest boss to beat (under 10 min)

@@moistyjurjes9084 yes. Coz FFVII has many glitch. Especially DMG glicth (barret or vincent) and duplicate item (W-item) Hero drink and Counter ( Counter and Counter attack) very strong in here U can beat Emerald and Ruby only using Counter+Mime
I got the Ozma card from Mene after defeating this guy and then i lost it at a card game 😂

Im glad this boss only has 55k hp This boss is such a painful experience, fun but so much pain😭

Doomsday & flare star was cursed
I would’ve used Steal and enable Mug. That’s the only thing useful for Zidane since he couldn’t reach Ozma. I managed to Steal pretty rare items. Forgot what it was.

I think if you finish the friendly monster challenge, he becomes reachable.
Basicaly kill it before it kills you

I somehow got EXTREMELY lucky with this boss battle and won on my first try today. I don't know how I did it because Meteor, Curse and Flare star almost took out my whole entire team. I would have hated it more if I kept losing to it.

@@Auroralights321I hear to be extremely lucky is to make sure you have 99 Phoenix Pinions and increase the chances of Rebirth Flames, return magic, the correct gear/equipment, etc. along with just being incredibly lucky.

@@jewellcleveland2226 I don't think I had that many Phoenix Pinions, but I did use one character with Return magic and had the right equipment. I also got extremely lucky because my whole team could have died plenty of times lol.
Someone killed it at level 7 said so need a good meta and gg
