all except when you fight barbariccia. "you're not the only one who can ride the wind" from kain would of been fucking epic, but yes! all these cutscene are amazing. Kain has an epic line in Dissidia 012 when you fight Ex-Death from ff5. Ex-Death says to Kain "you offer your life in exchange for theirs?" Kain so epically retorts "Of course not. I offer yours" and bam, fight stars. fucking truly badass lines in that game too. his VA in that game is great as well.

I didn't know they were in this game. That's pretty cool! Coincidentally, Sam Riegel is voicing a bard, and Taliesin Jaffe is voicing a guy with white hair who tries to avenge his parents. The only exception that I'm seeing is Liam O'Brien, unless I'm missing any similarities between Kaine and Vax.

Cecil voices Sasuke Uchiha while Kain voices Gaara.

The fact this story came out in 1991 in the 16-bit era (early 16-bit era at that) shows how much far ahead of their time Square was when it came to story telling.

Rydia as a child makes me cry so damn much. She watched her mother get brutally massacred-- she screamed her hatred out at Cecil. Edward was crying as his love was dying, this 8 year old girl was telling him to stop crying- because she had to stop crying over her mom in order to keep moving on. And she was thrown off the boat, and presumed to be dead afterwards. This game dude. Her story hurts me almost too much to play.

The time jump that Rydia experienced is always such a wild thing to contemplate: how did she grow up? Were her friends mostly monster summons? Was queen Asura and Leviathan like parents or harsh? Was she able to see how Cecil and the others survived? Like a whole ass game could have happened!

Rydia's always been the most interesting character to me. I wish we could get to see more of her story after falling off the boat. Does she age a year a day or something? Suddenly she's all grown up when we meet her later. There's so much more I wish the story could have explored there

now imagine all of FF4 as a full motion picture with the trailer's graphics... why oh why didn't they do this instead of "the powers within" which nobody cared about :(

Faewaterspirit ‘The Spirits Within’ was a complete travesty and an insult to every fan of the Final Fantasy franchise. Aside from the name, there was nothing to link it to any of the games. No Chocobos, no magic crystals, no Espers, nothing! I understand that the studio wanted to widen the movie’s appeal, but you don’t do that by sacrificing EVERYTHING that makes the games so unique! Imagine Resident Evil without zombies, or Mario without Bowser.

Edge had a damn good voice actor, seeing that scene with his signature line still just hits.

yeah your wish kinda came true. the pixel remasters are great, but the version of them in the bundle is based on the NES/SNES versions. sadly this version of 4 was left out. the psp version of 1/2/3/4 (incl. after years and interlude) were all left out, and DS version of 3 was left out lol. would of been freaking amazing had they added them as well to experience all of the FF's up to 6 but oh wells.

​@@3godzilla3 the only problem of FF2 is that the characters that died were with us for one mission and that was it, their death was ok at best. Minwu is the only one who we had more interactions with, and even his death wasn't like super impactful.

Thanks SO much. Killing myself trying to watch these as I play on New 3DS XL.... with so much pixelated. Didn't get to see Cecil's expressions in that opening cinema at all.

I need more chibi Shakespeare in my life. Golbez’ human form at the end made me shed a tear.

I love the dialogue so much. Not just the voices, but the script flows so well and fits the game perfectly.

people can say what they want but this 3d version is still an improvement from de 2d games. i played both and enjoyed this one way more. it has voice acting in some scenes, it HAS cutscenes wich the previous ones didtnt, and some other features that were a great addition. if u want more 2d remakes, why not just play tge old ones since u dont want anything to change anyways? give some credit to the people who made some effort to see this great game remade. it could be better, sure it could, but it is a very good improvement. id rate 4.5 stars*

The reason why we Edge as a playable character instead of Golbez is because ninjas in video games were so popular back in the day. Cid had to sacrifice himself to make room for Edge and Kain had to leave the party after leaving the Sealed Cave since Golbez had the Darth Vader treatment. Remakes had to follow this trend unfortunately.

I literally call this the "Game of Thrones of Final Fantasy" due to how many characters you will get attached to and they will either die, vanish temporarily, or turn traitor. If a single scene made you cry, you are normal.

Cecil as Sasuke is so cool

Decisions are too powerful to magic users. So that’s why Palom and Porom decided refuse to take Tellah’s healing ability when they turn themselves into stones, just to get Cecil and companions away from Golbez’s trap.

because intro opening movie is rendered CGI animation typical for Square. And game cutscenes were made in in-game engine powered by Nintendo DS.
