The 1st time I ever played FF2, I had played straight through the story without ever level grinding. I couldn't beat the fallen emperor. His starfall move would wipe my entire party. All final fantasy end bosses are incredibly easy if you grind long enough, but they tend to be incredibly hard if you just make a b line right for em.

Obviously you’ve just accepted, by internet law, the responsibility to make one of these videos about each of the 15 final fantasy games, and to update the series each time a new final fantasy is released, in perpetuity. Well, keep up the great work!

Taking damage increases Max HP. Using a weapon to deal damage increases the skill with that weapon and the attack stat. Getting hit with a weapon attack increases defense. So it does increase those just on two different people.

I'm still recovering from the sheer shock that was Guy Speak Beaver.

Great to see another Final Fantasy II fan, and even better to see the best mockery I've ever seen of it. Won't lie though, I would've also loved to have seen some parody of the Soul of Rebirth dungeon...and the notoriously overpowered Blood Sword. There's actually two of them in the original NES game and the Origins version, watching the heroes own everything with them would make for some gold. XD

For some bizarre reason, in "Dawn of Souls" (Can't speak for PlayStation Portable release), the first Blood Sword was replaced with a Power Staff.

Guy is going to have so much HP.

This is incredibly accurate. The only thing I felt that was missing was more reference to the horrible key-word system. Ugh this game...

After the battle with Lamia in the game Firion asked the rest of the party "How much of that did you see?" Like he was embarrassed to be caught off guard like that, because the power of boners.

I liked FFII as well. I was always really impressed with how FFII decided to make an entirely new world, battle system, characters, and story instead of just copying and pasting FFI over again. Also, the Emperor is an awesome, underrated villain. Anyway, it's always nice to see a parody from someone who actually played this game. The jokes were great, especially the part about raising your HP, lol!

Thanks for this. Final Fantasy 3 next? That game is full of silliness. I will admit I was hoping you would have the Emperor turn into a Frog like you can do in-game, and Firion would squash him.

I made the mistake of un equipping the guys that died when playing FF2 20th anniversary on psp as I was following a walkthrough on the pixel remaster that didn’t have souls of rebirth. My party’s defenseless

I had the opposite problem with characters dying when playing FF2 on GBA. I gave them terrible equipment in the main game, and when I got to Soul of Rebirth, I had a very difficult time surviving.

A punishment for those that had already beaten the original before and thought the game was too easy. I never actually beat the Soul of Rebith part. It frustrated me so I took a break, and before I had gotten back to it I bought my ps4 and got lost in Hollow Knight.

@@propheinx2250 You really didn’t miss too much, story-wise. Out of all the Final Fantasy added content, this one had the most potential. And yet it was all ruined by its “twist ending”. Spoilers ahead: That monster-infested “hell” you fought through is actually heaven. Congratulations.

He shouldn't cry about the decent armor he gave Joseph if he's from the what's arguably the best version - the GBA Dawn of Souls one. In it, you go to a neither realm or some such place in an epilogue and you meet the spirits of your fallen team. The equipment you had on them will still be there and the enemies are at a difficulty that roughly reflects what they should have. BUT if you're like me, knew the older version from a previous release (in my case Final Fantasy Origins on the PlayStation), you got upset just like that on the video when they died and you ost their equipment. So you learn that whenever you beat a boss with a new party member, you should unequip all they have because they are about to leave or die. So I did. And when I met the spirits in the epilogue they were all completely unequipped and I had to play through the entire game over again a long time later to do the epilogue because I couldn't get anywhere in it with no equipment.

I didn't realize that they added stuff when I played it. I made sure to reclaim all my equipment from characters before they died in the story. I didn't really make it far in the soul of rebirth part. It's hard to make progress with characters that have no armor, no weapons, and no fist proficiency. What a mistake it was to have Joseph use weapons. I was trying to challenge myself at a game I've already beaten... I was unprepared for challenging myself at the part I'd never played before.

I am loving these man. Cant wait for 6 and 8!

The leveling thing was so on point it had my sides hurt from laughing.

The jokes here landed pretty good. The Ultima joke was just TOO true. It’s so dumb, and I’m so happy they didn’t keep that in future games. The gameshow part and the taking days to get to the final boss to grind caused me to audibly laugh. The complete absence of Gordon is made funnier by the knowledge of the outcasts. Two was such an interesting game that tried some mechanics that didn’t work to be honest. Dawn of souls when? I kid of course. Thank you for making these funny animated videos over the years.
