I love the first encounter with him is him being SUPER dramatic and also an old man who doesn't know how to technology well. This is a great way to characterize Vincent that isn't just "edge lord mcedge".

@@cooperalt7980 I didn't, but I don't think Minsc counts as an iconic video game character. Not saying he's bad, but only OG fans who've played Baldur's Gate 2 will even know who the hell Minsc is. Ganondorf and Vincent are so iconic that even if someone has never played Zelda or FFVII, they'll know who they are just by seeing their pictures.

OMG Matt is perfect casting. As much as I love Steve Blum, you can just listen to his voice and imagine Vincent being handsome and broody. So glad he also added Vincent’s nuances to his performance such as his jesting side and calmer side. The writing for his character also seems to be WAY better and I am SO happy. ❤

Like how they gave him the Quicksilver instead of the Cerberus for the first encounter with him, staying more to the original story. I love tiny details like that

Steve Blum will always be my favourite but i must admit Matt Mercer is growing on me as Vincent.

Matt even reaches out to Steve when he got the part and Steve gave him his blessing. Not only are they both great for vincent i their own ways, but having the original VA allowing to pass the torch to the new gen, especially someone that is a fan of his i would say is the highest honor and respect to receive ❤️

Headcanon: After the events of Dirge of Cerberus, Vincent remembers an old pasttime. A type of game where a group sat at a table, each playing a character, and one group acted as the storyteller. Wanting to enjoy his new life free from Chaos or anything from his past, he gathers Shelke and the party, and even the kids, and he has them play roles of their choice.

Vincent being a boss is not only hella cool since we get to see Galian Beast in remake form but fighting him and the boss battle music almost looks like a Dark Soul/ Bloodborne boss battle, especially in his second stage form.

Every time that one melody kicks in, it sounds sad, in a good way. He's been through alot of hurt before he wanted to sleep in his coffin for a very long time. Its like He still holds that sadness in his heart when battling us

I hope we will see Vincent confronts Sephiorth in part 3 and tell him about his True origin even if that doesn't change anything. I want some Vincent and Sephiroth moments.

I'm sure he'll get it in the third game! He starts out with Quicksilver just like in the OG, and gets Cerberus later.

To me this is such a good cinematic representation of ffvii just purely of the fact Cait sith is failing around like he should 🤣🤣🤣

Can't believe i fell in love with this men back in 2006 after advent children. I was 8 😂 Then i remember forcing my elder sister who is 8 years older than me to play dirge of cerberus because my mother not allow me to play it, seeing the age recommendation. Being a kid, i don't understand anything, not advent children, not dirge of cerberus. I just love him without knowing anything. I still love him until today. He always has a place in my heart as one of my top 10 beloved characters. As i get older i slowly know his story, background, ff7, advent children, DoC, crisis core. Now he appears as handsome as ever. 18 years of love and still counting 😂 I'm gonna beat your record of loving lucrecia, Vincent! ❤

Theory: Vincent is another character who "remembers" the future, and now he is deeply depressed but not for Lucrecia, but for Dirge of Cerberus.

"Our bond is unique." It sounds incorrect to me. What is it referring to? Vincent was Lucrecia's lover. That's all. It was him as any other man could be, there is nothing unique when referring to Sephiroth. In fact, there really shouldn't be a connection between the two. Have they perhaps met and discussed each other directly in the remeke on some occasion over the years?

The main reason Vincent was an experiment by Hojo and Lucrecia was because he objected to them experimenting on the fetus when she became pregnant. That's what he means by the bond: his destiny was signed when he wanted to save Sephiroth's and couldn't do it, so he feels guilty for what they did to the baby and for him going crazy as an adult.

@darjah is correct however there is an ongoing debate for many years. Many fans including myself, think that Vincent is the real father. Even if Square says Hojo is, it would make more sense and be far more interesting if Vincent is Sephiroth's real father, perhaps even if Vincent doesn't know it himself.

@@brukaoru If that were the case, the statement would make sense. Even if Sephiroth didn't know of Vincent's existence, theirs would indeed be a unique bond. As well as a mutual connection. But being a theory, however sensible, I don't think Square Enix has any intention of changing Sephiroth's fatherhood.
