In the og you meet your paradebuddies again on the submarine. So if they're not on the highwind i'm pretty sure they'll crew your sub

@@randomredshirt5274 Hopefully they'll do both- start off meeting them again onboard the sub and then at the end of that quest line, they become the crew for the Highwind, maybe? It'd take a bit of reworking to make it work though, but honestly I really enjoy these characters enough that I genuinely would love for them to join the team full time in Part 3 on the airship.

@@randomredshirt5274 If I recall correctly, they don't know you're the guy from the parade. As such, you have the option to fight them (which of course kills them) or just commandeer the sub yourself, which spares their lives).

Because at the end of the day, no matter what happened, the infantrymen are just people doing their job and are not good nor evil. It's the upper brass that carries the weight of the burden.

It’s super ironic how Cloud is supposed to be posing as an infantryman when that’s his actual rank and his “default” persona was playing SOLDIER

Even now, I wonder what's really going on here. His persona may be "SOLDIER" according to what stories he heard from Zack, but Cloud's skills speaks for itself. How else could we explain the difference in skill level from your typical Shinra Security Officer. We can speculate that that the mako-infusion is what's responsible for Cloud's strength, and for whatever reason, he's pieced together memories of all his experiences, plus ones from Zack's retelling of the events to craft this persona that passes for truth (before scrutiny). But Cloud has SOLDIER skills and there's no way to explain why. AFAIK, the timeline for Crisis Core events was that he was still crippled and found himself in Sector 7, where Tifa found him, then shortly after that the events of FF7 started. What time did Cloud have to build up the skills he has now? Surely we are overestimating how powerful Zack's memories are!

@@terrancecloverfield6791I’m pretty sure he has the skills to be a SOLDIER but he lacks the mental fortitude that Zack has because as you can see Cloud is constantly being easily manipulated by Sephiroth and also by the fact that he’s constantly mixing things up thanks to the Mako poisoning

@@terrancecloverfield6791 cloud was always physically capable of being in soldier, the reason why he didnt get in was because during the final stage where the soldiers are meant to fuse with mako, his mind was rejecting it. Even when he has jenova cells which is basically the advanced set, he was left comatosed his eyes didnt become infused til after zack died and his mind was basically reshaping bits and pieces of itself to make a narritive for him to cope.

​@@terrancecloverfield6791 I always imagined that Cloud DID have the potential, especially with Zack taking him under his wing. If it weren't for the Nibelhiem incident and give it a few more years, Cloud could've eventually ended up in SOLDIER.

The gap between the commander’s treatment of Cloud and her giddiness when her unit wins is rather charming, I think.

Despite not really making it to SOLDIER, Cloud would make a pretty interesting captain for infantry long term

​@X1erra I mean according to Before Crisis Cloud was able to fight Ravens and those are just reverse engineered SOLDIER's usi.g only a sword he'd managed to get and kept up with a turk, guy was better than people gave him credit for as an infantry man

Commander really struck out that one day. Had no CAPTAIN until the inauguration day parade and just hired one of the laziest ones who never showed up for practice and wins her battalion the reward.

If no one else got my back, at least I know the 7th Infantry will always have my back!

@@bladerj As far as I know, yes. From this point 31:52 five troopers will accompany you until you reach the boss, it is up to you to ensure that all or some of them survive. As you may have noticed in this cutscene 35:17 three troopers appear to support their captain, which means that the group had 2 casualties. The number of troops in the cutscenes depends on how many of the 5 troopers manage to survive. 38:06 But I don't know how the cutscene will be if none of the 5 troopers survive.

Genius putting Tifa and Aerith in the drill minigame. And it's so cool to see Cloud becoming the commander he never was.

*Seeing Tifa and Aerith in gear, I can't help but think Fist Soldier game was too beautiful for this world.*

@@terrancecloverfield6791 She definitely sees it and knows Cloud is a Soldier as she later comments that she only wishes he would stay as having a Soldier under her command is a dream come true. This happens in her final scene before she tells them she won't report seeing them. And THIS only happens if you score an "A" or better in the parade.

According to the lore in Before Crisis Elena's sister was a former Turk who after that game went into hiding, Elena even refused to join the turks till her older sister left due to an intense sense of rivalry

Shinra doesn't pay them enough. That and Rufus basically stopped caring. The commander probably knows, but will turn an eye. The grunts will just assume some black ops SOLDIER Turk psyops stuff is going on; Cloud helped them against the monster when no other reinforcements came right? He was clearly an undercover SOLDIER bodyguard; he saved the president on that podium!

The Captain was right on the podium with the new President when the Wutai assassin woman tried to take the shot! We saw everything! Clearly the Captain's a SOLDIER plant on bodyguard duty; the president even cut the feed to speak with him for a bit. If the Captain was in cahoots with the assasin, clearly the new President would have ordered everyone to shoot him right there on the podium.

At first I doubt what you say, but once Cloud's helmet is down and he's speaking to them, while the Seventh Infantry's loyalty were definitely tested, they are indebted to the captain, gave him the benefit of the doubt. They eventually met on the field and showed further proof that they're fighting the good fight despite their reputation.

Commander needs a name... I like the name Edelgard for some reason.

These guys cannot take out a Hell Rider II and say that they hope for the sake on the one that can hope that they don't mean on the battle field.

MA'AM YES MA'AM!!!😍🖖🏿 Now one of the things I hope for in part 3 is that this hot commander and her seventh infantry unit troops will join Cid's Highwind crew somehow.

What's up with Rufus' outfit XD It looks like a dress ha ha ha! I like how one of the commanders is a female and that's so cool.

They likely are going to be the submarine or High wind crew. Cloud mentioned that you need a crew for the Highwind and also the commander looks similar to the crew in the submarine.

You know… the guns sorta bug me. They don’t have the butt stocks. I get it’s a fictional item but… can’t help but think it would have looked better with the conventional stock lol

I believe those are standard issue machine guns or assault rifles and to why they don't come with shoulder stocks. Something tells me the Shinra's military doctrine is somewhat similar to imperial stormtroopers of Star Wars. Meaning a lot of troopes shooting a lot of lead down range and no concerned with accuracy. As long they're firing in the direction where the enemy is who cares if they miss a several shots, they got the numbers or whatever.😅 They do have rifles with stocks as see in the Junon parade scene. but those look like they're used for ceremonial purposes only. Not to mention from looks of them they're seem to be base on breech loading rifles, but that's just a guess until we see the official weapon concept art.

@@RedWolf777SG I think they took the stocks off for ease of animation/clipping. In the original game, the troopers had stocks on their rifles hence why they suddenly have them in the parade scene so they can do the gun twirling from the original.
