Man, Advent Children sure makes it look like Aerith was Cloud’s true love. Idk I know Tifa and Cloud were close, but Cloud is deeply scarred from Aerith’s death and it just feels like there was more chemistry there to me. The remake makes them feel closer too

Its like a Twilight lovestory. Where Bella aka ( Cloud) was in love with Jacob aka (Tifa). They knew each other for a long time. Then Bella aka (Cloud) meets Edward aka (Aerith) more through on the story. That's when Bella aka(Cloud) falls in love with Edward aka (Aerith) way even more than Jacob aka (Tifa).

It could have ended with zack and aerith holding hands walking towards the light together but it didn't. It ended with cloud looking at aerith knowing that she is fine and will always be with him. In conclusion, both of them have feelings for each other and that they both know for a fact that they would always protect each other no matter what

The sad thing is that Cloud never realized that he's in love with Aerith until Sephiroth killed her. Cloud line : "This cant be real......Aerith will no longer talk, laugh, cry, or get angry....My finger is tingling......My mouth is dry.....My eyes are burning...!!"

I hope at least in the remake she gets a happy ending with cloud, cuz from what I remember in the OG, Crisis Core, Advent Children, and DOC; Aerith actually loved Cloud more than Zack, as for Cloud; he actually loved Aerith more than Tifa; Cloud had better chemistry and outgoing personality when he was with Aerith than Tifa

​@@kevindieMost actually fans who understand the FFVII narrative know it was always a love triangle story. Most fanboys and fangirls are not very bright.

What is so unusually poignant is that Aerith almost always seems to have THE final word/moment of encouragement in Advent Children for Cloud. And it is always the one that moves him forward in his moment of need. When Tifa says "Dilly dally shilly shally", it gets easily written off by Cloud. When Aerith uses this silly term, Cloud starts to seriously consider starting the process of forgiving himself. Though Vincent does a good job of helping our hero along too after Aerith. When you get the scene of the phone dropping into the water, you first get the messages of some of Cloud's friends and allies. But when it settles you get Aerith telling Cloud that she doesn't blame him for not saving her. When Cloud is getting tossed up to fight the monster in the sky, it's Aerith, from the grave, giving that once last push. And in the ending, Cloud takes a peek at his old gang before settling his gaze on Aerith (and Zack). The pattern isn't foolproof. I think when Sephiroth said he will take away what's most precious to Cloud, the latter's mind flashes to Aerith first and not last. But besides that, I think the pattern I noticed could say something significant. I think Cloud certainly found the courage to forgive himself for Aerith's death. But whether he moved on from Aerith herself and the joy, the counsel she brings... that's more of an open question.

There's a canonical book that takes place between Advent Children and the end of the original FF7 game where Aerith states that she loves Cloud but that he is destined to end up with Tifa. I think if you read the entire canon it makes sense that the ship will be Tifa and Cloud in earth and Aerith and Zack in the liffestream.

The narration here goes like: "Someone I love went to livestream too", and what do we see during this sentense? Exactly, Cloud letting Aerith go, and she is going to the livestream. Cloud loves Aerith. Fight me.

I’ve never played the original game, but after playing the Remake and watching Advent Children I have no idea how people can justifiably sit there and say Cloud loves Tifa more…..

I have nothing against Cloti ship and I do want Cloud to move on post AC with Tifa just for him to be happy, but I will forever stood by Clerith. Some people say Clerith is wrong because of bro code but I’m sure Zack would’ve been happy to see them together and Aerith didn’t lament on his death for long, same with what may happen with Aerith towards Cloud and Tifa post AC. People can have preferred couple, but to downright deny what actually transpired is kind of sad. Cloud have loved both girls in separate times, but who he ultimately loved the most was deliberately left ambiguous.

Also in FF7 OG there are many times Aerith has directly quoted that she didn’t like zack anymore I think she called him a “lady’s man” and Tifa has confessed that she didn’t have anything to do with clouds recovery. Lol The highwind sex stuff was all Made up to please the Clotis

He only move his head when aerith speaks.I really can feel his sadness and grief.

"The flowers, they have something to tell us, but before they can speak, something has to be done, or we won't be able to hear them." "Follow them, the yellow flowers." "This flower is a symbol of reunion between people who love each other". I feel like Aerith is trying to warn Cloud, so he can be reunited with her at the end. Aerith's death is too important to ignore, but I know they will have a different ending.

3:09 I love that they used Aerith's Great Gospel limit break to cure the Geostigma. That was such a smart way to tie the game mechanics in with the movie. And Cloud, Zack, and Aerith are honestly the perfect example of a poly ship, to me. Even in death the three wouldn't be separated. I don't think that wave and smile at the end wasn't goodbye, just "see you later" and Cloud acknowledging he isn't as alone as he though he was.

Lol people need to understand that the original protagonists of the game when it was first released were Cloud, Aerith and Sephiroth. At that time when there were no other ff7 related games to further give insight for the characters, all the extra stories and games were created because the original story was successful as it was and people wanted to see more of the other characters and how Cloud was connected to them. We knew that Zack was Cloud's friend and Aerith's ex kinda boyfriend. Tifa was a childhood crush. Both girls loved Cloud. Cloud loved both girls BUT at different times. And let's be realistic, if Cloud wanted Tifa so badly he would be with her in this movie by now. Even with his inner conflicts but still with her. And guess what, he's not and even at the end of the movie it's Aerith that catches his eye. People just don't know how the story goes.

I agree until the end part. I think it’s more the fact that Cloud finally got over Aerith and her death and moved on. As for Tifa, Cloud was keeping his distance from her because he wanted to protect her from not only enemies, but from himself. Much like during the Black Materia Temple part of the game, Cloud loses himself and beats up Aerith. I can’t say much about his feelings he has for Tifa or how he approaches with them, but I feel that’s the reason why he never hooked up with her during the skip between the game and the movie. Perhaps things will change after the ending, idk but let’s leave it at that.

​@@konjiki8203 At the end of the movie Cloud moves on from his guilt of Aerith's death, not of Aerith herself. It has been stated from the game's creators in interviews that Aerith's consiousness lives on in Cloud and that's why he can see her or talk to her during the movie (and after the movie). Also for people who doubt it's Aerith's death that make him depressed in the movie I think they should take a look at the fact that Cloud speaks to Zack's sword at the place he died while he refuses to even go at the Forgotten City to save the kids because that's the place he rest Aerith when she died. He also can't even look at her the first time she appears to him. The thing is, while in the game the player has the option to give Tifa more affection the most romantic scenes are by default with Aerith, which means either that he loves Aerith or that he loves both Aerith and Tifa, but not Tifa alone and that's what people just can't accept, thus the debates go on and on...

I agree in that Cloud was interested in Tifa in the past, and is now still in love with Aerith since the original game. There is NO indication that he is in a relationship with Tifa, in any of the media. He is still shown to be in love with Aerith, even here. I don't know what "getting over" means when it comes to love. You don't stop loving someone because they die.

Advent Children out here foreshadowing that Aerith’s power is growing. She’s pulling Cloud into a different dimension like how Sephiroth does with Cloud in remake.

Just like the Remake, only Aerith can make Cloud’s jaw drop 4:02. Aerith is so beautiful and innocent and loving, she didn’t have to die! 😭 It pains me that Cloud cant be with the Flower Girl he fell in love with. The Remake series will change her fate, mark my words.

I fell in love with this game age 7 Im now age 31. And it still brings me so much pain to think about cloud and Aerith. I just finished watching the first episode of Arcane and couldn’t help but come back to my roots and watch cloud clips😊🫶 Final Fantasy 7 had and has so much influence on my life. Truly the best game ever to be made.

I just noticed that in the battle scene against the gaint monster, after everyone take turns to give Cloud a push, it's Aerith's turn and their hands never let go.😭

I think she has to die tbh, her death is the emotional core of the game, it's what gives cloud meaning and what ultimately redeems him

When I was about nine, I watched this...I didn't really understand it , but ai thought it was awesome... only in the ending when Cloud is watching her walk away, I felt a deep sadness that I couldn't describe. I then realized that she was dead, and that he must have been in love with her.🎉😢

I know how you feel... but the problem is her death is a central part of the story. FF7 would be a much different gene without it. Her death (unfortunately) is unavoidable.

Anyone else notice Cloud has barely any lines in Advent Children? If there are, they're super sparse and said quietly.

After playing the game from OG, from the remake, reading the novels of SQ, and watching the avent chilren countless times, it can be said because when I watch the remake, I go back to this AC, That sad, heartbreaking feeling is even more intense than in someone who has known ff7 for more than 10 years like me. There are still people who think that Zack and Aerith are a sad couple, but Aerith's death and Cloud's suffering for her makes us players feel sad, and miss the most. Even if she dies, the two of them have a bond that can never be separated. As Barrett said in the sewer to Leslie, you don't know how much someone means to you until you lose them. The same can be seen with Cloud in AC, he really feels the loss of Aerith and that's always why I prefer Cloud and Aerith's relationship over Cloud and Tifa or zack and aerith.from vietnam =))

Let 's be honest . The couple Aerith and Zack were made cute enough just to increase the pain of Zack 's death in Crisis Core . This is not a love story at all . It is written in all the books that Aerith is in love with Cloud much more . Cloud literally goes crazy after her death . Although he didn 't know her for long .Clerith have always been the central couple , only for their couple there are official fanarts , a museum . FF7 OG used the words that this is a story of tragic love and intense hatred. Only the blind don't want to see which couple is real in this universe. Even in the remake , it can be seen which pair is given more attention

I love Cloud for Aerith tbh I see the biggest LOVED in their eyes and really compatible to each other esp personality.., and for tifa I ship her with Zack nor I find her perfect to Zack their character is suits to each other opposite attract I think tifa need a guy who can made her open-up for herself experience of fun,enjoy, kind of aerith type of personality just like how she did to cloud.... with that I think Tifa would know her worth and value not that she always reside, clingy to cloud about her feelings and her mindset over herself relationship that cloud even himself can't find and questionable for that... I just say this bcoz if ever ff7 sort of made them happy ending I guess it's best way to say that Cloud is Perfect forAERITH and tifa to Zack..

I love Clerith so much :( Cloud is able to move on from Aerith and find a new lover just like how Aerith was able to move on from Zack, but it really looks like Cloud never got over Aerith :( I want them to have a happy ending!!!

It makes sense for him to not ever fully move on because he’s had such a difficult life. If he were to move on, it would be with a new love, not someone like Tifa that will forever reminds him of the time he was with Aerith. Poor Cloud.

This is the good ending, it's end the empty feeling in my heart after her death. But even when i knew that, why the tears still coming up ? Why ? What is this feeling ? It's hollow, even when i think i can't feel it anymore. It's still there after 12 years since i finish the OG. The sadness of her death grow up with me and now i'm here playing the Remake. I couting on you Cloud... Save her this time... For me please. This sadness been long enough (I'm Vietnamese my english not very good) i don't know how to describle my feeling right now. The only person who is being salty is you I love Cloud X aerith but I also love Cloud X Tifa and the truth be told there's much more Cloud X Tifa than there is cloud X aerith aerith only loves Cloud not only because he resembled Zack it was because the cloud was his own person that's true but the only reason why Cloud came back and the only reason why Cloud left in the first place was all for Tifa he wanted to become Soldier fortiva he came back for Tifa if. @@renhonjo1680 no it’s not. if cloud wanted tifa so badly he would’ve been with her by now. and also don’t even try to mention the high wind scene because it all depends on what the player chooses. cloud liked tifa when they were children but he loves aerith in the present when they are all adults. if he loved tifa so much then why did he never tell her he had geostigma and planned to die without telling her during advent children? and why did he live in aerith’s church in advent children??? cloud x tifa doesn’t make any sense. if cloud truly loved Tifa he wouldn’t treat her this way and shut her out of his life.

@@renhonjo1680 during final fantasy 7 remake aerith was more supportive than Tifa ever was. and it even shows in this 5 minute video that Aerith is supportive. she literally said “i never blamed you, not once. you came for me, that’s all that matters.” that is EXTREMELY supportive lol.

Aerith sounds so different before the remake (kingdom hearts series, advent children, crisis core) and really does sound very mature. At the remake square make her sound more playful and joyful. Let's wait how things resolve

I actually really like Cloud in this movie. He is a bit more “emo” as some would say in this movie, but he has reason to be. I mean not only is he processing all the stuff that happened in FFVII but his adoptive son and him are also suffering from a disease that can’t be cured. I honestly think AC was a logical progression to his character. But then again I also thought FFX-2 was a logical progression to Yuna’s character and we all know how most feel about that game. 😅

Now seeing the remake version that tells several times about Change the destinity/Destiny doesn´t write yet thing, and knowing Aerith gonna die anyways, make sense see how broken is Cloud in Advent Children. The sense of guilt must be unbereable for him :( So sad...

Watched this movie again today and balled my eyes out at the ending

4:12 😢 damn zack and aerith. I've watched the movie and played crisis core still gets me every time.

Devs purposely made this inconclusive but with enough material to fight for either side and they probably will keep the same recipe for the remake. Which sucks because they are toying with people since 1997. I wish they come out and give a concrete answer

What people need to understand is that Aeriths relationship with Zack was retconned after Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core since his popularity has exploded in Japan. So stop trying to find parallels with the Remake as far as Cloud , Zack and Aerith relationship wise goes.
