The #2 curse could have a movie made about it. That was one of the literal funnest years of all time. Prime of college football back then.

That 3rd and 20 play is one of the best plays you’ll ever see in college football.

Doug Flutie made me fall in love with BC football as a child. Matt Ryan, though, I got to watch every game of his at BC as an adult and it was incredible, I knew god damn well the man was going to be an absolute stud in the NFL. I don't care what team he plays for, I'll always love Matt Ryan. Easily the greatest BC quarterback of all time after Flutie. And really his time there was the only period BC was ever really even close to being competitive on a national level in most of my lifetime. Fond memories of 07.

I loved this game! I repped BC gear to high school the next day and I live in VA! My dad went and played football at BC! I love BC too! #WeAreBC

Go Hokies! Awesome game, wanted VT to win this one but it's such a classic NCAA game that I can't help but go back and watch it. Brings excitement every time, Matt Ryan was meant to move on to bigger and better things, clearly.

My favorite college football game and team, the 07 BC Eagles...if only they could have beaten VT again in the ACC Title Game...

2007, the absolute wildest and craziest college football season I've never witnessed in my life. So many twists and turns and chaos in the BCS Standings that year. It was a curse that year to be ranked number 2, I can't remember how many teams were ranked number two and lost that year. It was only fitting the season started with an upset in Appalachian State upsetting Michigan in the Big House to ending with Pitt stunning West Virginia in Morgantown in the Backyard Brawl, ruining their National Title Opportunity.

I remember this game like it was yesterday.. Long live Matty Ice

I'll never forget catching the end of this game in Lower. Literally ran there from Walsh to avoid missing it, and the Mods went nuts after it was all over. Great memories, and a very hard-fought game on both sides. Nothing for any of these guys to be ashamed of.

hokieguy95 i did not hold, our center pushed the d linemen into me and we all went down together. That said, we hold basically every play, but I stand behind not holding that play! Va tech will always have a special place in my heart and nothing better in the world than a night game there! And I hope somehow the old cheers are allowed to be said again. Special place and I hope both of our programs get back where we were then. ~#78

I was at this game too. Soaking wet from the rain and stunned "Matty Ice" had just single handedly beat us. I was so pissed at Macho Harris for giving up both TDS.

BC is o line U. Matty Ice had a line here in Chestnut Hill, though that does not diminish his greatness. What he didn’t have and what BC rarely has is a wide receiver.
