Filtration & Separating Mixtures - GCSE Chemistry | kayscience.com

In this video you will learn all the science for this topic to get a grade 9 or A* in your science exams!
Filtration is a separation technique where large insoluble substances are trapped, allowing the solvent and dissolved solutes to pass through. The equipment needed in filtration are a filter funnel, filter paper and a conical flask. The large insoluble substances which are too big to flow through the holes of the filer paper are trapped and are called the residue. The smaller soluble solutes and solvent which flows through the filter paper and into the conical flask is called the filtrate.
