I would say zimzalabim is a red velvet concept while bad boy and psycho are velvet concepts. Although you could argue that psycho is a red velvet concept. They never do the same “concept” you’re always going to be surprised. I tend to enjoy their b sides more and they are known for their b sides.

They have 3 (?) Sides. The 'Red' side has songs like Red Flavor, Power Up, Umpah Umpah. The 'Velvet' side shows darker concepts like Automatic, Bad Boy, and Psycho. Then there's just... well, Red Velvet. It's not Red, nor Velvet. Peek-A-Boo is a great example here.

Red Velvet's concept is definitely all over the place. Irene and Seulgi just put out a subunit song, "Monster," and that is even more completely different from anything Red Velvet has done too

Alex Greeley okay. it’s still rude to say it’s “all over the place”, it implies that they don’t know what they’re doing or some other negative connotation. this matters if you’re really a fan, you shouldn’t set them up like this.

I personally love the diversity of Red Velvet. It really makes them unique that they can pull off any concept and excel in it. Also it is funny to see how people react to something so different. But I understand that some people like to stick to one genre or sound. With RV though you need to expect the unexpected.

@@reaKtpop every month at a certain time they kill pizza delivery boys. When the moon is full I guess. While waiting they train themselves to hurt first, to draw blood before killing. Also they kinda let the victims come close to them, tame them. In the end they give them false hope, you saw girls pretending to help him escape (and they were changing every time). Well, you know how it ended. There are so many things to pay attention to in the video that I notice them one by one (like stacks of pizza boxes, t-shirts of other guys as trophies and so on). Red Velvet MVs are a feast but can be overwhelming too.

I respect your opinion. Red Velvet is like an acquired taste. You're either turned off by them or in love with them. Personally, their ever-changing concepts are what keeps me interested. Like I don't know what to expect but I know I will love it. And their B-side tracks are heavenly. I think if you will look at their concepts, their high-budget MVs, the members' personalities, talents, and charm, they should be more popular than they are now because not a lot of groups do what they do or even dare do what they do. But I'm okay with them not being very popular. I just wish they're more appreciated.

So agree to what you said.! Like I am interested in their changing concepts, their B-sides, their personalities that are also diff to other groups, their creative MVs, also their vocals are in another level can suit on diff concepts. I also thought that they must be most popular than other groups and just realized that many people in the world don't have a unique taste in kpop music or just music. They just like hype songs not artistic, creative songs.

Actually red velvet doesn't have a "cute song or cute concept" their songs concepts is "Red" which is the brighter side but the song itself doesn't actually sound cute its just their style of music, and the other one the "velvet" side the more darker songs but even the songs with velvet side isn't really that dark music as you heard in peek a boo. They just have their own style of music

Even though I respect your decision not to stan Red Velvet, you are missing out on one of the best current kpop group right now if you don't. Red Velvet has the best discography of any group and they are called b-side Queens for a reason.

Irene = Irene I like her = I like her voice = Wendy She’s pretty = Joy

I like it when people being honest about their preference, not everyone have same taste with us (reveluv). What makes me stan RV isnt just bcs their interesting concept & their talent but their whole B-Sides are my taste, they really have various genre & their harmony in the songs are always surprise me, try to listen with earphone and you'll find many interesting instrument in the song. It's a common thing for non fans to confuse with RV concept but us, reveluv that's what we like about them, they never afraid to bring a new concept which isnt a public taste yet they slay everytime they comeback. I think a part of the reason why people love them is because they're versatile and have 2 concepts (or well 3 - since they can be combined)... also their voices are amazing, especially Wendy and Seulgi.

Hi! Red Velvet has a big range in terms of concepts but generally can be categorized to Red and Velvet. Red is the cutesy more summer vibe while velvet is the sensual sexy stuff. Dumb Dumb is Red, Automatic is Velvet, and I believe Peekaboo is a mixture of Red and velvet Although as you said their title songs can be a hit or miss to general listeners, their bsides in the albums are VERY good.

Yep, a lot of people call Red Velvet queens of b-sides and rightfully so. I love b-sides even more than title tracks.

red velvet is the group you’ll never meet again in kpop industry. they are so unique and too talented to not be loved.

I'd love to see you react to Irene and Seugli's new subunit debut with Monster! I wasn't expecting to love it, but it's my favorite track this year. I think you'd jive with it, seeing some of your tastes!

People want one identity from one group. Because it is usually difficult to have only one firm identity. But Red Velvet has always changed and maintained its highest level of originality. I think that's why they've been loved so far.

Wendy is one of the strongest Vocalist in 3rd gen KPOP. Her powerful voice, technique and everything.

I suggest lyric videos for knowing who sings what. RandomK does really good videos with correct lines. Red Velvet is the most versatile group in Kpop so they change concepts a lot so I get how they can be hard to stan. But they will always have incredible vocals and visuals.

@@reaKtpop if you like Wendy's singing than you should check out her collaborations and OST songs and stuff like that. These are really beautiful. For several days in a row I am listening Light me up (an RV song) Wendy solo version on a radio.

I think dumb dumb is one of the best SM production,... Their composition of music, their concept, music video, makeup, hair style is everything...

They definitely are missing a lot! It reminds me sooo much of early Beyoncé, which I love so I'm so glad I checked it out!

It is said that red velvet is actually a seven member group, the sixth member is a table and seventh is a car, which both often appear in their videos. I'm also a big stan of MAMAMOO (since even before their debut in 2014), but they were eclipsed by Red velvet because they continue to surprise me, have nearly the same vocals and by far the best discography. If you want to try second generation, I would try 2ne1, which is my ultimate ggroup.

As a whole Mamamoo have better vocals but Wendy's technique is more developed.

Red Velvet's versatility keep casual listeners coming back every time they release a song because they get you excited.

RV has two different side of music, that's their music concept. Totally different with others girlband. They're stunning as always, and the vocal also. SM entertainment is never jokes for their artists, trust me.

red velvet has a versatile discography and it's either a hit or miss for the audience lol. check out their bsides in their albums! since you liked Automatic, i suggest you listen to the songs from The Perfect Velvet (Peek-a-boo was the title track, Bad Boy as the title track for the repackaged version) and The Reve Festival Finale (Psycho was the title track). and imo, red velvet doesn't do "cute" concept. maybe the term is energetic or bright (red concept) because the cute concept in kpop is different from red velvet's red concept while their velvet concept is more of a classy vibes than sexy. hehe :)

They have the most diverse and the best B-side song, even Billboard admited. Try to dig up into their songs. And u'll surprise everytime u heard it. Anyway listen to their subunit song MONSTER by Irene and Seulgi, that's a whole BOP

Honestly, rolling stones names Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb" in Top 10 Music Videos of 2015 and the only kpop group that enters top 10 best mv in 2015

I also mentioned something about this in your GG reaction video. Girls' Generation, NCT, WayV, and RV are from the same company which is SM Entertainment. They really like exploring new genres and new styles for their artists. And also one of Lee Soo Man's (founder of the company) goals is culture.

LMAOO Automatic was owned by Wendy!! You was like: i like this gil uff *wendy*, and this girl *wendy*, and also this girl voice *wendy* SO FUNNY, well cannot judge u since wendy is my bias too, her visual and vocals!! plus she is so humblee

Red Velvet have had a nice balance of both concepts whether it's cute and bright or whether it's mature, dark visuals :) .... You can see it if u watch all their MVs ! Korea generally prefers Red side like Red Flavor, Power Up, Rookie etc. so they lean more towards that but Intl. fans are contrasting to that leaning to Velvet side.

I don't know if it's just me but it's always satisfying to see the faces of reactors whenever they hear a red song and a velvet song. They're blown away at the diversity. It kinda assures me that red velvet is doing great because people are always shocked at how different red velvet sound in both sides. RED VELVET are chameleons when it comes to concepts, they can pull off anything imo! Their fans know to never expect the same thing twice, which we find so exciting, but to some people it can be off putting so each to their own ig ^^

Not only they are Versatile with the concepts. They turn complete 180 degrees from Cutesy to Sensual. Their musically discographies are just Top Tier known to be Experimental then they become Sexy and R&B vixens. They are top tier when it comes to music and concepts. No skips on their album. Almost 90% of their songs (b sides or title tracks) are just PHENOMENAL

I can see why people might not be into Songs like Zimzalabim ( as a die hard rv stan i dont like that song either) but generally they have the most diverse discography when it comes to a kpop group. I highly recommend you to check out their B-Sides too. Kingdom Come is an absolute masterpiece in my opinion.

If you are watching some kpop videos, you'll see everyone's mentioning Girls Generation (SNSD) because they are like the trendsetters not only in fashion but also in music. I hope u guys, will react to them too. Here's some of their songs: 1. Into The New World (Debut Song) 2. Gee (they became hit after releasing Gee) 3.
