This song and the production? Masterpiece. My two favorite musical genres are hip-hop and metal. Sounds strange but it really does make sense. Both genres are intense and invoke the same feeling. They are the same frequency of energy. My mind was blown when I first watched this right after it dropped. The lyrics hold so much meaning. As a child, I was left to raise myself so I found wisdom in music and movies to help raise myself. I have a knack for finding the different layers of meaning in performance art. It's a blessing. Truly. I raised myself well and am proud of myself for the love and care I showed myself despite the horrific circumstances I was born into. That being said, these artists truly are changing the world for the better. I enjoyed your perspective on the visual aspect as I am not well versed on visual effects. All I know is how they impact me on an emotional level. Thank you for the clarification 🐝

Ronnie is really smart. incorporating multiple music genres, going above and beyond on visuals and adapting to modern culture and platforms his entire career. His music is now one of the most reacted to on this platform, which he sometimes reacts to himself to promote. As a kid, he was one of the first people I'd seen be "cancelled" before it truly became a thing. To see how he's adapted and stuck a finger up his entire career is pretty badass.

  • @ToTheWolvesTony

So the deal is back then going mainstream was rare because scene bands could never get mainstream or radio play so being in a scene band back then kinda already meant you were starting out cancelled, also within the scene they were hated on due to not being hard or metal enough and too prissy (lots of gatekeeping and pretentious people in the scene back then hating on bands in their own scene) but it always ends up the same in my genre of metal/rock with everyone hating on the band in the beginning then eventually coming around to liking them and placing legendary tier status on them years later which I hate. On top of that there was the drama and beef between his original band escape the fates at the time new lead singer Craig mabbitt and himself and just generally being known to be a dick to fans and colleagues alike. But he hatched an idea presumably during the two years he did in prison for skipping out on parole that he received for battery charges related to the death of an 18 year old which was falling in reverse which he then created after getting out. After the bands inception and initial cultivation their music and his persona ended up making enough waves in the scene to where he regained popularity quickly and came out on top over escape the fate comparatively (the very band that he started and was kicked out of) and since has only been climbing the ladder of success with falling in reverse and it makes me so proud to see and he's not so much of a dick anymore.

I've watched a few reactions to this song now. My initial thoughts were a little different from most people when it comes to the references to pop culture. The opening scene in the airplane calls back to Call of Duty: Warzone, a game that Ronnie streams on his Twitch account. Most people have been talking about the similarities to the Bane scene in the Dark Knight Rises. The other reference I saw differently was the closing scene that reminded Jonathan of General Zod from Superman. It reminds me of the scene from The Boys when Homelander lasers the crowd of people. Maybe I saw these incorrectly, maybe it's supposed to be up for interpretation. I guess it doesn't matter all that much considering how masterfully the song was written and performed.

I like how you look at videos on their production values, a lot of people look at them as just a tool to accompany a song, but they are so much more than that & you get that!

I hope you get into some european music videography aswell. Spectre does some mind boggling videos for various artist i.e. Rammstein. Nightwish did videos to all of their newest album (Human ||Nature) after it was clear that touring during the pandemic was not going to happen.

This was such a cool reaction, typically it's from musicians or just fans it was interesting to hear what a pro thinks about the video itself. Fun fact about the guitar shot where he makes the bends, that shot evolved from youtube videos. Guitar players post either covers or originals and knowing that they're appealing to other guitar players, they would attach go-pros to their guitars so they can see the picking hand technique or what the fretting hand was doing etc. It's a lot more interesting than watching someone in their bedroom just sit still and shred. Now it's like a staple in metal music videos.

Really cool to see someone from the movie scene reviewing clips from the music scene. Video clip quality has evolved a lot in recent years and it is very interesting to see the point of view of someone working in the area. I've seen some comments talking about 'Im not a vampire (revamped)' and it really is an unbelievable clip and you should check it out! I also recommend checking out Lorna Shore's 'Pain Remains I, II, & III' trilogy, they are a deathcore band that are revolutionizing the genre and to be honest with music in general, they have turned deathcore into a tragic love ballad in a way absolutely epic!
