im commenting this as someone who has a friend whos a big Kaiju/Godzilla fan. This was mentioned in conversation casually once and he stated how much he hated this story and its premise. And the whole bit about angry fans in the beginning made me wanna ask him why he hated it He says the story overall and its message are alright, nothing compares to Godzilla SNES creepypasta but thats not the main gripe the main gripe is about the main vicitim, the man in the suit. This story was made just months after the original costume actor Haru Nakajima died. Nakajima loved his role, worked hard, enduring horrific conditions to play in that bulky suit but loved it because of what the movies meant and still mean to the world as a whole. He was a man that supported internationality, and some of his motivations to be in this film was to be apart of a story that would be spread all over the world and not just Japan and to have the guy taking his place in this documentary being a etho-nationalist, justified or not, quite literally becoming a monster taking petty revenge on people who did nothing wrong instead of actually combating the issue in a constructive way like how the real life actor did, ON TOP of the the fact this was again made recently after his death...is a slap in the face to those diehard fans. and honestly, as someone whos had only a passing interest in this to begin with, made me not like the Story at the end of the day. Now he holds no ill will towards the story maker, just how they have made the story and i gotta agree with him. Not everyone on the internet hates mindlessly, sometimes hate has a reason

Nakajima Haruo died in 2017, that is ca. 6 years before the first episode of the series was made, I wouldn't really consider it *that* recent. It's very clear that we are dealing with an AU (e.g. Hirose Shōichi, King Kong's actor, obviously didn't die on the set and had actually continued to work for Toho basically until his death in the 90s). Also, as stated: there is a difference between constructive criticism (such as changing the message that the actor had for the world) and blatant hate, harassment and death threats.

This was the best theory that had to upload, despite it being the last.

In the original movie the officials of Japan never actually admitted to the population that the US was to blame for Godzilla instead deciding to not acknowledge it in favour of keeping the peace and moving forward. Also serizawa creates the oxygen destroyer and he is horrified by his own creation deciding to detonate it in the ocean, destroying all his notes prior. And killing Godzilla. The movie was also inspired by the events of the Marshal island nuclear testings between 1946 and 1958 I believe. Which killed a few Japanese fishermen and exposed locals to a lot of radiation. So VERY FRESH in the Japanese people’s minds. Some even accused the director of being insensitive. The director was also a Buddhist and his father and grandfather were both monks. He was made to guard the comfort women camps during ww11 so he wasn’t above criticising Japan and Japanese patriotism

This reminds me of the Big Daddy from Bioshock. From what I remember, the suit essentially becomes their new outer flesh & skin as the divers meld with the suits. That game's lore is so rich!

ok, when goji says " now i have become death, destroyer of worlds" was said by Oppenheimer in the year 1965, and goji says this in the 50's, but this line was actually from the bhagavad gita, many many years before both goji and Oppenheimer repeated this line.

i was upset but happy for the man when he announced he'll stop being the recording voice for the channels but aside from that i love the anger from him, truly built up over time

Ive been watching this channel since 2015, meaning you were/are such a major part of my life. you will be missed

The thought of MatPat not being the one to host future theory videos is constantly on the back of my mind now that I'm watching these last few videos. I can't thank you enough for making my childhood. I wish you and Stephanie all the best. We'll miss you so much.

This might be terrible of me but I hope an unsubscribe wave convinces him to come back so he doesn't go forever. It's really selfish I know but I just hate the idea of a theory video without him. I'm gonna try and get this thought out of my head so I feel any better about this

​@@AltAccount-cb7shlet me remind you that his reason for leaving is because there are more important things for him, his family, his life. He wants to spend more time with his family without constantly thinking about this channel. So i doubt people unsubbing aren't that matter to him that much

Except the fact that lights flickering out. He’s leaving game theory and we only have about 9 theories left from pat. And I think this is one of those 9 so say goodbye to a true chad who’s been on the platform for such a long time

Yeah I appreciate that he has a life and all and I support him but I genuinely think I may unsubscribe once he leaves, only checking every so often to see if it'll be an episode where he steps back into his old role again. I just can't see the channels without him, it's such a bittersweet feeling.

I love mztpat getting more and more unhinged as we get closer to his finale he is amazing and can't wait to see what these channels have instore for us

i remember watching these godzilla videos months ago and wondering when mat would make a video on this

I could already see, now I fully see.. This series is a true piece of art. Today it seems to be rather rare to see but I'm glad it's never fully gone from our nature.. I can inspire highly now, hope my own story will deliver the same message of peace to the world.. I can only hope.. and give hope.
