Australian viewer here :) These fish are eaten in the Northern part of Australia near the Tropics. They are very expensive and not caught as often as other varieties of snapper, but definitely a delicacy.

Interesting, im from Malaysia and this fish is super common and cheap i ate it almost everday back when im just a kid.

Jackson river North of Weipa straight line from the mouth of the river 6NM 22m of water small rubble bottom about 30m2 red after red after red the trick is every drop you will get massive catfish that's when everyone leaves but the trick is stay there and after around 10-30 minutes the cat fish stop biting and all you get are big reds u till you run out of bait

I had the weirdest dream about Masaru and it was that he supposedly died back in 2020 and someone who killed him was the one uploading the videos I literally woke up worried and teary eyed. This man has carved his own place in my heart for teaching so passionately about fishing and delicious food I could literally cry if something happened to him. I'm glad I woke up to find a new video but that made me realise how much I like this channel and how he has gained my heart that I almost cried thinking he was gone, my gosh.😢

Okay so some simple advice from someone who has made emperor red snapper dishes in the past. Their meat when blanched is dry but tastes MUCH better when it is stewed and mixed into a ramen or fish pie. I had the honour of getting more snapper than I originally expected when I went fishing with some friends from Palau and in the end they made me a beautiful Sashimi platter while I gave it a whirl at experimenting with a pastry dish. Funnily enough, the fish pie made with cheese, red snapper, mashed potatoes, pepper and some extra ingredients was incredibly tasty to the point its now turned into a "family recipe" by my friends. You should try to make new recipe's like I did, if you feel its too plain or dry, then mix it with "wet" and "savoury" ingredients in a dish.

5月6月は美味しくない時期って言ってるし、もっと昔に撮った説を提唱したい…
白だしって味見した時はもうちょいあってもいい感あるのに出来上がりで濃いな・・・ってなるよね。 楽しみにしてた食材の時ほど白だし味で食ってる気がする。
硬い頭の魚は口から包丁入れて刃先がまな板につくくらいの刃渡りを使い、まな板に刃先をつけて刃先側の峰を感じながらテコの原理でアゴがわを使って体重かけて押し切りすると切りやすいです 脂が全くないのに体高も厚くてすごい魚ですね!旬の時期だったらきっととてつもないポテンシャルがあったかもですね 動画楽しみにしています
We catch these in the north west of Australia, Red emperor one of the top table fish in my opinion. Be good if you could try our Dhufish

Where I grew up in Australia we had one fishing spot where red emperor where the only fish you would catch and they where all around 80cm I miss that place

I think he uses a bunch of free bgm music that's available. I recognize the one when he starts chopping up the fish since a certain vtuber uses it on occasion.
