Today was our first full day at Musket Cove on Malolo Island, Fiji.
We quickly fell into a routine for our stay at the resort, which commenced with an awesome breakfast by the pool. Later we could catch a complimentary boat ride out to a Deepwater snorkel site. After we returned, we would have a long swim in the Resort pool while enjoying a few too many cocktails at the swim-up Bar. After showers, we would return to the Restaurant for a sumptuous dinner at the restaurant.
Note: When booking, we decided against an all-inclusive Meal package, as we didn't think we would eat enough to make it worthwhile. It turns out we were right. We were so busy snorkelling and paticipating in other activities that we didn't bother going back to the restaurant at lunchtime to eat. If we were hungry, we could buy food from the cafe or supplies from the supermarket to keep in our Bure. We ordered all evening meals a-la-carte and they were charged to our bill. All up, it worked out a lot cheaper that way.
The boat rides out to Deepwater Coral reefs were timed to coincide with the tides and currents when the water would be clearer and calmer. We were slightly disappointed to find the coral less colourful than we hoped but the multitude of Tropical fish was very exciting.
