For many of the reasons that you mentioned for this unit is why I went with the Qudelix 5k. It's very robust with the chrome extension and smart phone app.

That's a FIIO case that's sold separately. When new it's not loose.The clip on it helps a lot.

Hi, BTR7 sound thin with iphone AAC compare to android LDAC or connected with cable?

vs similarly priced hip3 for sound quality ?

How's the peq function? I heard it didn't work with shelf filters...

Can anyone comment on how this compares with a more expensive amp/dac? I have the HD820. I also have a SMSL SU-8 and SH-8 stack. I can't tell between the SMSL stack and the BTR7. So if I spend more will I get more from the HD820? I don't want to be chasing a unicorn!

Qudelix 5k is still IMO the best BT dac amp around. Looking forward to seeing what Qudelix's next offering will be as the 5k has been around a long time now.... It's app is better than the fiio app and I love the super lightweight build of the device which makes it very convenient to use as a wired dongle. All the need to do in a new Qudelix is add 4.4mm jack, upgrade the DAC chip and increase the power output. I think the would be wise to keep the small and light form factor

Interesting.... The new Qudelix's looks very interesting in terms of hardware. 4 dac chips, 2 mics, 20 band EQ, 4.4 and 2.5, very powerful.... But a lot bigger than the 5k (sadly) and NO Bluetooth (?!). Guess they are going for a different use case. Question for me now is how does it compete with my collection (Cayin RU6, RU7, Questyle M15, Mojo 2 as well as the btr5 and 5k) It has a lot of stiff competition there.

Hey ​@@reflection1119I am intrigued by your collection of dongles/portable Dacs. I currently have the Mojo2 and am tempted by the RU7 or RU6, but primarily to use in my desktop chain. Not sure if you have any insights into that use case,.or whether it is worth getting one of these if I already have the Mojo2. Cheers and enjoy the music!

1:05 mine is still tight. Maybe it does get loose with time, though.

You can run it wires too. Bluetooth is a connivence thing. Sounds good either way.

great review. I have owned the btr7 for over a year now: the sound is great (flat eq) I use the BTR with the Fiio FH3 and Beyer 990's 250 Ohms, and the sound is great; the mid bass is accentuated in the fh3 and there seems to be more sound stage when using the BTR7, and the Beyers get enough power from this small device. The blue tooth connection is junk; you lose connection as soon as you block the headphone jack. The app is also junk, still buggy.The app is only great for increasing the boost, which is great for hard to drive headphones and IEM's.

It does come with a case. It's pretty ugly tho

Im old fiio user, 7 is the only has THXaaa28 compares to 3 or even 5..but i skip it cuz ESS.. AKM is just THX ideals couples.. Aesthetically hexagon design for latest product while older not. simple to know. The only things i wanna know is.. UsbC does support in n out like DAP which also frm em?.. U r noobs towrds THX.. It is worlds most linear amps..of course 'Clean'. Ur b7 app s... at least oversampling filters app.. mine fiio has it, y not urs? Sumore 24hrs batt bro with analogue in on Q5S TC thats extinct due to fire incident at AKM factory...Just dream on ownin it nowdays..Hm ur desktop systems. U know wut my Endgame system for audiophiles IEM just Q5S TC( dualAKM4493 which in RMEadi2 + dual THX aaa78 as amps modules) + xduooMT604 (4pentodesClassA)= heaven is it.. In audiophiles IEM worlds.. money is not the things Perfect pitch Hearing abilities is mo needed. Peace!

while it sounds good, the screen and buttons implmentation is horrid! the screen is much larger but entire screen shows LDAC! and the vol numbers are now even smaller than that of BTR5. the buttons....if you wanna pause music, you have to tap once to wake the screen, then tap again to pause. and the screen dont even show that you have paused the music. why wake up the screen then??? a complete waste of its bigger colour screen. e.g. it will be more logical if the screen change to show the volume when one is adjusting it. and number changes colour like red if passed 60 to show harmful loudness and green to show normal listening volume etc so that the colour is information. really great sound and poor UI.

A review on used, or another person's hidde broken junk.
