What a game man

Ben Jackson AKA Smasher Height: 6'4 Weight: 280 lbs Background Smasher serves multiple life sentences and prison is very fond of him. The police have been renting Smasher out. The public doesn't know about it but it cuts down inmates deaths and it brings the prison a lot of money every time he gets sent out. Hawk wants Smasher to be set free. He made a bargain to "contact" Smasher 15 times. There have been problems, because Smasher is a loose cannon. He smashes everything in sight. His temper is immeasurable during heated times and no one knows if he turns on them at any time Man, if Smasher is a loose cannon he can beat the living hell outta Zeng henchmen and carrying heavier things such as a car engine sums it up

Smasher is the Hulk of Fighting Force!

Definitely. EDIT: He reminds me of Ben Grimm/The Thing from Fantastic Four also. Probably more than Hulk. But Hulk will do.

Right now, I have nothing to do with/in this game to be honest. I could start running the japanese version, but the thing is, I don't have the equipment, time or incentive to do so. I have a job now, and I have things to do. Moving out of the house to live on my own, possibly college/university, maybe go to a foreign country. Hell, if I had some competetion in this game, like I had recently with Trilby and TheWispsOfTime, I would probably squeeze some runs out of it. But right now, it's up in the air, on a hiatus that ends who knows when. Sorry.

I always play this character when I was kid, and I used basic attack all the time, lol. But it was a good old time, I think I first played this in 2008.

Im starting to try speedrunning this game im currently getting the first level down to just under 10 mins and can finish subway boss by 25 mins on a good run! its the late game that really slows me down though but learning some good strats through your run.

:D Yeah, that doesn't really make an awful lot of sense, but hey... But c'mon, his legs aren't tiny looking, they are decent-ish. The problem is those huge pythons make him look like he skipped leg day. The term I would use is "90's gaming". Not the greatest era to search logic in.

Have you played the japanese version called "Metal Fist" before? For some odd reason, the characters have slightly different hair in there. Mace lighter brown hair, Hawk is light blonde and even Smasher has hair and a little bun, lol!

I even have two speedruns of it uploaded, of course I have played it. And those minor visual changes were probably done to resemble Streets of Rage more, as this game was originally supposed to be the 4th entry in the series.

I used ePSXe 1.9.25 or 2.0.5 Try to choose "OpenGL" graphics plugin, click on "fast", disable Frame skipping, enable FPS limit, set it to auto. That's it.

@@FightingForceSoulless thank you go it running with the nice settings some how is there a difference between running the game on fast and nice im not very emulator wise

In the car you can see after the gate at (1:00), there is a bazooka and you can use it to blow up the whole truck that will come later, skipping that part completely! ^_^

Well I know there is a bazooka in the police car, but I don't use it, because it's kind of gimmicky with the autoaim the game is providing, the positioning of the enemies, plus the car takes some time to break. I just don't use it, at all. I would probably use it if I ever get to doing runs on hard, but for the time being, I doubt it's worth it. But I could try, for the keks. Also not sure about the "blowing the whole truck up" part. I know you can destroy the cars after they have stopped, not while they are coming to the spot. So what exactly do you mean by this. Like, when the Z truck comes, shoot the car and the 4 dudes surrounding it will get killed by the blow? I have no idea. I have to try today. But you could provide some more explanation.

Ok, unfortunately it is something that I remember from my childhood memories (and they are pretty broken XD). I remember that as soon as you broke the police car a Bazooka would come out, obliviously you can't make the whole truck explode while it moves but as soon as the Z-truck stop you can shoot with the rocket-launcher and blow it up before any single character come out from it, skipping the whole fighting session with the dudes coming out from the van. I'm not sure if it works but I'm pretty sure it does. If i remember correctly you can even do it while it's slowing down, try that! I played a lot when I was a kid and if I'm right I think I can give you some more suggestion about a speedrun but, if it doesn't work, I guess I just had some dreams about it. XD

Well I mean it sounds reasonable, but I am a lazy f..k and I haven't played the game in like 2 months. If it works, it will be gamechanging, I don't know how much time it could save, but hey, certainly better than nothing. If it doesn't....I won't hate you. Maybe. I will let you know as to how it went, when I try to do it. But even before, thanks for the suggestion :)

You welcome (and sorry if it won't works) and if it does work I also remember some little tricks I used to do with this big guy like placing a huge rock in the middle of the street in "The park" killing every single motorcyclist coming from the end of the level and some other idea for the airbase (even though I saw that you preferred the navalbase for the speedrun). I'll download the game right now and I'll try something for you ... If I'll be able to find a proper ehm... way to do it.

Well, I tried :D It doesn't work, sadly. That would be a game changer, but for the runs I am doing, that being easy and normal (as of right now), the bazooka isn't worth it. Had this trick worked, different story. But thanks for the suggestion anyways :) I don't go through the park very often, since Mall is the fastest and Bronx is the most interesting I would say, but I remember accidentally discovering this too. It's hilarious. Almost like them breaking against the invisible wall on the High Street. As for Air Base, it's kinda meh....like the level is okay, the boss is....okay-ish, though Vulkan only takes few seconds to beat, but the Airship (or whatever, the level after Jetpac) is sooooo annoying and long. As for the tricks, I know that you can break the Jet and get a huge cannon off of it, and I know that in some version(s) (though not my main one), you can break the side gate to the lower right, and there are barrels, grenades and health kits. Probably a pistol too, but not sure. And that's it for that level I think. If you know of anything different I might have somehow missed, let me know.

I assume you meant timer. It starts when you select a character in the main menu. It stops the moment you kill Zeng, the final boss. These are the rules I came up with, and they seem logical. Nice gambling :D I find this translation funny. But thanks :)

You mean smashing the ground? Circle and then quickly Cross O + X or just can just press them at the same time

@@FightingForceSoulless B.S. The controls arent responsive, the game moves like its in sludge. I've played every version of the game on original hardware and can confirm this. Theres slow paced, and theres laggy, and this is the latter.
