Seeing as how they release new content around the same time as new Saturday morning cartoons back in the day and the vast majority of subscribers are into cars and were kids at one time, it only makes sense people would reference the good times they had to the good times they have now.

    It just goes to show how much difference you can make as a driver, it's always tempting to think you are close to the limit of what the car can do, it's human nature, it's ego. But then a guy jumps in your car cold and casually beats the entire class. Gotta keep gettin good.

  • @SHADOWW18
    @SHADOWW183 жыл бұрын

    As someone that sets up cars for Motorsport, I can Honestly say that if you just soften up all of your shockers (coil overs/dampeners) your suspension issues will be solved. Effectively your Dampers/Shockers/coil overs were set to way to stiff meaning they had no give what so ever. That's why when you hit the curbs the car launched into the air and when it came back down it would bounce. You may as well of had no dampeners at all and just had solid poles in their place. Drop your coil over stiffness down by 50% as a starting point and go from there. Slick tyres can handle more G force so spring and dampener rates can be stiffer but you always need to factor in the track conditions such as the surface itself.

    The front springs are too hard, that’s why it’s pogoing, as it is gripping and releasing, you need a fairly large spring difference between front and rear. Try 600 front 900 rear might need to go up on the rear from there. Also get the dampers dyno’d bet they are all different 😬

    willmoua1 custom valving is key. 500f/800r 22f/24r sways w/lsd. 600f/900r and 800/1100 were what I rotated between on double adjustable konis depending on the track. Need more rotation, disconnect the front sway bar. I preferred the stability of the smallest front sway bar personally and just going bigger in the rear on spring rate. I used Hyperco springs, absolutely the best. I have videos of some of my racing on my profile, I’m not just talking BS. No lsd up front, no front sway bar helps a lot. I hope Ben learns how to setup the car properly, that car probably has seconds in it still properly driven and properly setup. Driving fwd fast should never be comfortable, if it is, you’re slow. The rear needs to hang loose 🤙 gl bro

    With my personal limited track experience, but experience being in a variety of different cars and suspension setups, it does look like the spring rates are too stiff for the dampers. For me personally, having a good damper setup gives me A TON more driver confidence to push the car harder because of that solid feel and predictable body control. Psychologically, it allows me to trust the car more. It looks like you guys are there for maximum mechanical grip, so if you could improve your damper and spring rate combo, I'm sure that will give you the confidence to drive harder and smoother to get those critical tenths of a second!

    Not even trying to pretend I know more than anyone, and it seems like you already know, you could use a lot more rebound dampening to keep up with the spring rates. Awesome job on third place though! That’s amazing!

    That ice cream run - that's what I love and miss about time attack events, at least the few that I've done. I remember thinking it'd be all serious competition and rivalry and what not, but everyone was there to have fun and just work on bettering themselves that it was enough a reason for comradeship.

    Gotta say, that catch that Peter did in that Subie? Fukin impressive, no ifs ands or buts about it that was sensational driving to keep a fishtailing AWD racecar on the track.

    Car looks really good by the end. I had crazy good dampening and more spring travel then a regular car, in my old 98 Civic Hatchback, but that setup would have easily been defeated by speeds required on this race track... There was this mall near my house and they had a huge 2nd level parking, that was going bad and had perfect ripples like 3 feet high waves. On Sundays when the mall was closed, if I carried the right speed, tons of fun jumping from the top of one wave, to the top of the other wave, from one end of the lot to the other.

    Been a repair tech for over 12 years and installed a set of skunk2 coilovers then proceeded to set the preload to 3 full turns and my integra did the same thing as your civic. Adjusted preload to 1 turn and suspension calmed down but still a little bouncey like the civic. Try adjusting the preload

    Hey, So I’m a new subscriber, but I just watched this video. I was your corner 1 flagger at this event. Right by the big bump. I actually remember I came and talked to you the last day. I’m a big Honda guy, and I have a 2000 civic track build my self. I wish I’d known about your channel before then, would have loved to met you sooner that weekend, not to mention subscribed sooner. I haven’t been back to PPIR the past two seasons, so if you have been back I’m sorry I missed you. I’m coming back next year, and hope to see you back at Gridlife. I will definitely be there! 😎
