So basically, there are 5 fights happening simultaneously, and the losing team is the one that loses a participant first

Essentially it's 1v1 until someone wins in the 1v1s. Afterwards, it's 2v1 on the ground and there is no chance. Everyone gets brain damage after several of these brawls. Your team might win 2/3, but if you are the last one standing on the winning team in just 1 round, you are gonna receive some brain damage from being pummeled by 5 guys

Or you have 1 or 2 guys that can wrap up more than one at a time to give their team the numbers advantage. They need to hold on unroll their team mates finish then get back to help them out ?

Why is everyone complaining?.. most of these teams are gangs or thugs that would normally fight regular people at a Euro soccer match. This gives them a place to fight like minded people. Its genius.

You know i have to admit I don’t enjoy this as much as 1 on 1 mma competition but I think this is very valuable and offers a very realistic view into reality because I would say a good percentage of actual fights involve more than one person or are in crowded places. I think this offers us a controlled look into certain tactics and principles we can utilize in real life my main take away from this is wrestling would be extremely important in keeping your mobility and maintain your ability to keep it on the feet because the ground is an absolute death trap in this situation and I really need to start either boxing or Thai boxing again I’ve forgotten how useful striking actual is.

This whole idea is just dumb. It always devolves into 5 against 1, it just isn't something that works as a sport. They allow kicks to the head to a downed opponent and let the fight continue once one member of a specific team is all thats left. It just doesn't work.

+Lorenzo Franco but why does the fight keep going after like 2 guys are beat up so they leave the ring than the other 3 have to suffer on the floor blocking while being mobbed by more than 1 guy at a time usually. like why does the fight never end after 2-3 people are out of the fight on one team. it would make sense to keep the fight going if 2 people were unable to fight from both teams. but i dont find it very fun to watch guys get mobbed on the ground taking kicks to the head from more than one guy for like 1-2 mins. the fight should be over at that point it's pretty clear who the winner is, unless the last guy left is going to pull off some jacki chan shit and quad ninja kick the shit out of everyone on the enemy team all on his own. but most likely that last guy is just going to sit on the ground in the fetal position and take a bunch of kicks and punches from 5 guys for a good 30-60 seconds befor they finally call the match.

You ain't gonna see no omoplata, twister or even armbar here...its just like what you see from nearly every town or city center on a Friday or Saturday night except the referees are the police..If a certain select section of people didn't thought cage fighting was bad enough just wait until they clap their eyes on this...I'm all for cage fighting as I am of all mma events..but this is not my cup of tea...3 on 1 is not mma, its...a mugging, brutality at its finest.. I honestly think you don't need any coloured belts in any mma discipline here...I suspect your average doorman is skilled enough to do this.

Yeah, a strategy would to have the best fighter on your team knock out his opponent while the other 4 try to stay alive & in the game. Then after eliminating one guy, you can slowly move on to free up your other fighters by assisting in a mugging. This sport is just too messy.

From a television standpoint, I don't get this. At first you just don't know which fight to watch, the camera switches between each fight too fast. You can't be anywhere near impressed or intrigued. Once the lynchings start it just becomes unpleasant to watch, and I don't understand what's special about the fact that five guys can beat up one guy. Of course they can. That's sport?

A few ideas are coming to my mind. You have this as a general idea first. But a few more match types could be done. One type is survivor, each team has their five members each. One member from each team will enter and fight until someone for either team is out by TKO, KO or Submission, one that happens a fresh player enters until all team members are out. Another idea is a 1 vs 1 x 5 match where 5 one on one matches are done and the team with the most tko, ko and submission wins.

This just looks stupid as shit! I actually like the concept of team fights but there has to be a better way of doing it. There looks to be no skill involved just a bunch of dudes ganging up on single opponents. Also, they allow kicks to the head of a grounded opponent and allow shirt pulling but promote themselves as following "standard mma rules". Tell me how this looks any different than a fight out in a bar parking lot?

Cameron Philips I agree with Tomi Clutterbuck below, PRIDE used to allow all sorts of things, so I'm totally fine with the heel stomps, etc etc. I guess this league is putting a lot of emphasis on not having a weak link in your team, as the first one to lose a member seems to be the team that loses. It's not the best, it's not the worst.

This "concept" is an interesting one. Sure it need some adjustments, but the UFC started as Vale Tudo. They all have to start somewhere. What I'd like to see: (1.) The corner tires must be changed, we saw why in this fight. (2.) The match is pretty much decided when the first guy is out and the team favored in the 5v4 always win. So I'd like something like a survivor series styled match. 3v3 with 2 subs who will tag in after someone is out, or something of that kind. (3.) Rules for protection often develop after accidents/events, so this part will just mature. They should use UFC and other MMA organizations rule sets as template. Punch to back of the head, 12 to 6 elbow, kicking on the ground etc. I think making some of these changes can make this a professional sport and develop some sick athletes and fighters. Rules for safety should be their priority. It separates this from a underground brawl to a professional competing sport.

  • @TheodoreGrammar

Ola Nordmann Wow, you obviously don't know shit about any type of fighting if you think banning the 12 to 6 elbow is a good idea. It's a stupid rule that got implemented when athletic commissions saw karate brick breaking videos; the ban has nothing to do with any damage caused in an MMA fight and therefore based on unrealistic evidence.

Teddy Graham Oh shit a keyboard warrior. Better put my armor on. It's so nice to see you heard one comment from Joe Rogan, you most really be educated in martial arts. And it were ice blocks, not bricks. That's one of the reasons they banned the the 12-6 elbow, yes. Many fighters also supports the decision to ban the 12-6 elbow due to cuts and elbow poking the eye. Personally i don't see any disadvantage banning the 12-6. A simple punch, hammerfist or a cross elbow works just as fine.

The rules should be when a guy from one team defeats the other guy, he waits until other fights are finished and then he fights a remaining guy from the other team and so on. He shouldn't step until the team is a fighter down. Basically an extra fighter if one from yours team loses.
