I owned a fr Seat Ibiza TDI 130 bhp. The torque it has is addictive. It has a pull like a train. Plus 50 mpg . It's a fun diesel hot hatch. It feels much faster then 0 to 62 in 8 seconds. I owned mine for 8 years and missed it when I let it go

@@Doppo69 Just sold mine and miss it already. It was a 2005 model so 19 years old. Only 107,000 genuine miles. Ran it on red diesel for 8 years. Would be return around 50 mpg Al times. Very little trouble although the inter-cooler went. Plus springs broke but cheap to replace. That little golf engine would start on the button every time regardless of weather. Didn't burn any oil. Even at 95mph you put your foot down and it was eager to pull hard..very impressive torque. Needless to say it had no dpf filter that year. Road tax wasn't good at 190 pounds per year. Great little mini run around and the torque made it feel like a new engine all the time. Putting your toe down in 2nd and 3rd gears up a hill I would get wheel spin at 50 mph. Fabulous little car but sadly not many very clean examples left now. I sold mine on eBay for 1400 pounds. But have seen other clean examples fetching 2000 pounds same year 2005

@@voicevoice2053 mine was a 2003, think the generation before the one in the video, I’ve had a look on auto trader there’s 3 on there with high mileage with the 2.0 litre engine, I looked at a 2016 Mini Cooper s yesterday, the used car market has some ridiculous prices now! I have a golf 2004 tdi 2.0 for past 6 years it’s never failed me but it’s falling apart and the same gear box and clutch now it’s at 120k miles! I would get another diesel but I do short journeys and the dpf has killed the fun 😓

I bought the R56 SD off the back of this (and similar) review - horrendously fun to drive & still looks amazing all these years later.

@@NB_NB_NB I've owned it since 10/2020 and had no issues so far. If you buy one just keep it serviced every year and let the engine warm up before spirited driving - also, don't forget to do DPF regen runs every so often.

since both cars are fwd I don't see how mini will do better in dry and ibiza possibly won't. it should be equally proportioned, unless ibiza has some sort of diff lock that adds more grip in critical conditions and mini doesn't....

Obviously didn’t listen to the fact the mini has far stiffer suspension and much less body roll, which negatively effects it massively in the wet, because it will just constantly understeer. So no there is far more to it than that.

@@ESKATEUK you don't seem to understand or don't have an idea how to explain your opinion....less body roll is less safe in the wet because the car slides eventhough the driver doesn't feel that as much because it rolls less? that is pretty stupid and mini is far from racing go kart....
