Lol why were Xavi and Messi even in that list? In 2008 Messi and Xavi weren't in that level which they reached in 2009. Barcelona in general were terrible that year : Liga BBVA table - Real Madrid 86 points Valencia 72 points Barcelona 66 points half of the squads of Chelsea and Man Utd in that year were better than Messi and Xavi. For example : Cech, Drogba, Lampard, Rooney, Van Der Saar

+Tom Bekhor Xavi was voted as the best player in the UEFA European Championchip 2008 and he won the titel with Spain. He also was good in the first round of the season 08/09. I dont know why Messi was second place but maybe of his amazing first round in 08/09. He also came to the semi final with Barca in the CL.
