they switched engines from the ignite engine to the frostbite engine. which frostbite has better lighting, and better physics. notice how the clothes move in a realistic way on frostbite, but not on ignite. notice how the grass in frostbite has this realistic look to it, and then notice how the grass has pop at night.

It's amazing to me how every new FIFA iteration seems to look so much better than the last at first glance but when you compare it to the successor one year later, you realize how average the graphics really are. They always seem to get better but at the same time somehow they don't.

yeah they have better cloth dynamics here and sweat on faces, but this video is not a true representation of fifa 16. I just played it at 1080p on 3D, and the grass looks better than either of the examples here.

What about now

How does 16 look better? 17 has: • More detailed ground textures • Character models look far more realistic, the skin tones don't have that weird bland tone and the facial hair is improved. Not to mention you can actually see peoples eye colors •Grass doesn't have as many jaggies so I guess we can chock that up to better anti-aliasing • Colors pop far more • Better Draw Distance ( more NPC's view-able in the bleachers)

Now all they need to do is put in player ID and drop the cartoon-style graphics and go for something more realistic. Don't think they'll ever do that. It's too much work. It's much easier to add one small thing, promote it, and sell it as a new game, and suckers will still buy it. EA are the worst game developers ever to walk the earth as much as they are publishers. Greedy cunts who should be frowned upon in the game industry.

Huge improvement :) Cloth physics, grass, animation, faces, ligtning. Great :)

i just played the demo on pc, the grass looks way better than that. To be honest, I think Fifa really took a step forward considering graphics. I also like the AI, the computer will now try to beat you with deep, direct passes instead of circling the ball around. This always annoyed me when playing against

The nintendo switch must need at least the ignite engine, so the difference between ps3 and switch can get larger, that is how you make fifa (18/19)on the switch, last gen upgrade is for Wii U graphics

As someone who plays PC and only has an xbone just for fifa and pes. I'm disappointed by the graphics update. Yes it looks better but 16 looked better than 15 and so on. This is running on the same engine as Battlefront, one of the most graphically beautiful games I've ever played and BF1 which looks fantastic and this is the best they can do? I'm sure they held back just so they can do a "graphics overhaul" on FIFA 18. Even on my PC at Ultra settings it just looks average. Also the LT ball guarding mechanic is overpowerd as fuck. I can just hold that button and no one can get through that.

Frostbite is the better engine, but in sport games the "map" is static and clean

It is 30 fps on consoles if you switch to the pro cam. On Pc the fps is 60 or more when using the pro cam.

Those aren't cutscenes. Those are scenes from Instant Replay mostly and every scene we show is rendered in real-time. We are a graphics comparison channel, so we focus on graphics, not on gameplay.

the fifa 16 style of grass was better for me, more long and straight, in fifa 17 they tried to make it more realist and nobody apreciates it, the textures are better but they made it too curved and short (more like real life, but i still prefering fifa 16 grass) anyway is the best graphic upgrade ever in 1 year for fifa or pes

According to the cpu_benchmark site, the i7 6700 processor is only 3% better than my i3 8100 (4 cores and 4 threads), but it costs almost 3 times more. Blessed 8th generation of Intel processors!

Honestly, the more colorful graphics of FIFA 16 are much more stimulating than 17, even when considering the technical differences.

Guys did anybody noticed that on PS4 when playing on night, the ball is so white that it almost glows and the same for the white shirts, I also noticed some lag with long passes, also the colours are very bright and they tend to hurt my eyes. I am the only one experiencing this issues or it is general problem ? I mention I play on Tele Broadcast

Well my tv is a Samsung 32" and I don't sit very close i noticed this problem only in Fifa 17, in 16 I had not problems playing or GTA or other games, I just sold my 16 Copy and I kind of regret it because if the original game will be like that it is a dissapointment for me, frostbite does not impress at all

I also tried on standard mode and on Game mode on standard it is unplayable and on gmae mode looks good but this is the only problem that it has every color seems to bee too bright

It makes me angry that FIFA did not want to put the frostbite engine on the play station 3 and that in battlefield they put it on that engine and it works very well

Miss the ignite engine

Some games get more changes in a free updates than Fifa give you for 60$ every year.

PES has player ID. Players dribble and shoot like they do in real life. Players have accurately proportioned bodies as opposed to muscular and big. Konami puts more realistic details into their game aside from graphics. Not sure if you noticed, but FIFA tends to have more cartoon-y graphics. Before you jump down my throat like the mindless fanboy you probably are, I like FIFA better.

Byron Cai Authenticity in what? There has to be more to it than that to make you like FIFA more. Sound? Presentation? Have you played PES? The game has authentic player movement which alone competes with FIFA where the animations for every player look the same. And it plays a more realistic and technical pace whereas FIFA is arcade-y and fast-paced. So, FIFA is just about equal with PES if only because the sound and presentation is more appealing.

The green shaded, striped rectangle still looks the damn same. Not to mention everybody plays this on console from far away, so it still looks shit. No one wants to pay 60 dollars a year for literally just an update. This might be the only one worth buying since however long ago the ignite engine was integrated, but still not worth 60 bucks. at all.

Well it looks like this year Fifa didn't show its love for ps3, pes 2017 for ps3 looks better than Fifa 17 and it includes all modes like ps4, I'll go for pes 2017 for ps3 and fifa 17 for ps4. That's all.
