i think one of the biggest things to note about this boss is that the map can really change how you fight this thing, as on sockeye you can attack it easily from the tower, but on something like spawning grounds there is less high ground, so you have to really maximize your damage whenever he is in reach

Not to mention that on marooners Bay it just kind of sucks in general because you have enough high ground, but the boss salmons tended to swarm it really quickly, giving you very little room to actually work

6:19 i didn't know the left basket myth was still kicking around. If you check the overfishing guide written by Marty, this was tested in s3. either basket will always result in the flyfish focusing the nearest player.

as soon as he said that i had to scroll to the comments, i always thought it was the other way around with the right basket being random and the left basket targeting the nearest player. thanks for the info, now i dont have to worry about which side i take out first 😅

It was a myth? I was gonna say I wasting my time with targeting the left basket, but recently, I forgot about it, and it doesn't really matter as flyfish is still one bomb away from death.

I tend to find myself with Golden eggs ready to fire, but I'm no where near the head of Horroboros. I either waste time trying to get to somewhere I can launch an egg at the bomb and trying to get through more salmonids, or waste time waiting for it to get in range of where I am. At least Cohozuna is generally slow and is an easier target.

yeah i prefer fighting the cohozuna. this boss is annoying and extremely dependant on your team playing well to actually defeat. if your team refuses to attack the bombs correctly youre screwed. at least the cohozuna just requires aim and shoot money mechanics. much more consistent.

Never defeated it even once. My teammates were quickly got overwhelmed by the enemies.

(Either most people don't know or care about this, and I'm fine with that, because I like having bigger power egg scores)

After this video i have finally defeated horrorboros

1:45 the health mentioned is for hazard level 60% (overachiever rank)or above! at 0% it will have 38,500 HP 10% will be 41,250 20% will be 44,000 30% will be 46,750 40% will be 49,500 And lastly 50% will be 52,250

Don't forget that it moves on a set path that can possibly be memorized.

During the Big Run where it debuted I didn't beat a Horrorboros once. Then during a standard shift I had a Hydra Splatling which I used to attack the bomb and wow, did it go down fast.

i have a skill issue because ive fought this thing maybe 10 times and lost each time. my team is usually allergic to exploding the bombs.

I legit did not realize you could shoot the bombs.

Minor correction on the math, but four eggs alone kills the bomb. You only need a few shots if you hit three. The eggs are 800, so 3 of the eggs makes 2400 damage, which is almost the bomb itself. Just wanted to point that out

I love the animated character you use in your vids :) I beat my first king today! And I also beat another koho afterwards with 1 second left!

i always struggled with the king salmonoids, especially horrorboros. saw this vid today, had an encounter with horrorboros after, and beat my first king salmonoid using the advice. i focused on hitting the mouth bomb anf boom. wave complete (i had an e-liter 4k)

As someone who used to lose all the time to both king salmonids and ever since I hit executive vp win like 4/5 times, I can confidently say having a good team makes or breaks your chances 😂

Horroboros… I fail it alot… I didn’t know about it’s weakness and go for it’s mouth. I should’ve gone for the head and I went for the body out of desperation. Noted, Defuse the bomb, it the weak spot. Lillie notes: The boss is big, it will fly around so remember to clean before. Small Area, smaller reach. Sadly the crew I went in with didn’t know anything and was pretty demotivated that day. It doesn’t help I was also at disadvantage by texting to communicate… I’ll go back to being silent and deadly. All I can say…. Know thy self, keep your friends close, know you enemy, and area before you’re toast.

The title made me think this was going to be demeaning, but it actually was very helpful! I definitely find Horrorboros easier than Cohozuna, and I still learned a few things--I swore the bomb successively got more health, but now that I know it stays the same each bomb, it'll be a lot easier to gauge how close it is to exploding. My friend struggles a lot with Horrorboros, I'm going to send this to them and see if it helps!

I k ow that the boss salmons come out to throw the eggs at the big boss, but I swear there is way to many salmons when trying to fight a big boss. It’s so annoying when some people are trying to deal with the boss salmons, and others trying to deal with lesser salmons, and the big boss salmons just have to much health. So annoying trying to fight them.

I know the reason I failed at horrorborse because I wasn't an eggsecutive because yesterday I ranked up to eggsutive and defeated horrorborse for the first time

I have not watched the video yet, but here are my two reasons for losing: 1. Every second more and more bosses appear and they crush you with their numbers 2. We do not have time to reach Horrorboros. Somehow, if we just look around, he's already on the other side of the map.

My teammates just straight up abandoned me when horrorboros arrived. I was left for dead!

I used to be a Factor customer. It is really good...but you will get tired of it after about 4-5 months in. The pancakes, however, I will never get tired of that when it comes up on their random menus.

During the golden rotation, the most cursed thing I saw was 4 grizzco stampers against Horrorboros. Against literally any other king, that’s practically an automatic win, but against Horrorboros none of them could reach and just had to do their best with specials and eggs.

Even if you are a godlike SR player it is still a co-op mode, so if you play Freelance and get stuck with shitty teammates (which happens most of the time) you are bound to lose. Also that poem at the end is like something Agent 8 would've wrote

I wish I could do some eggstra work waves with vasko the next time there is an eggstra work. I was the mvp for golden eggs and power eggs getting 67 golden eggs and 2547 power eggs on my best run. I still only got top 50. Vasko would prob be better than me but it would be great to have a fantastic teammate like him.

I'm an idiot. I had no idea you could blow up horoboros' bombs. I didn't get Splatoon 3 until 1 year after it released, so I guess I missed the memo.

3 reasons?! Its the same number as your teammates, hmmm. We almost defeat them once.

Go after the bomb? Where? All I see is horrobelly and flyfish target marks. The bomb is always on the opposite side of the map.

Additionally, just like cohozuna, USE. YOUR. CRAB. Aim for the bomb, shred it and keep damaging the body! Don't let its insane DPS go to waste! At most use a crab bomb or two to destroy a flyfish, otherwise focus your fire!

Soo to summarize, Horrorboros is better, no but seriously I find myself more motivated to grind shifts if that’s the boss in rotation 🤣
