Fidlock Water Bottle | Know THIS Before You Buy!

Спорт

after lots of research i decided on spending more money on the Fidlock water bottle system for my enduro MTB. Lots of people saying it sticks like glue and if anyone said it came off they were led to believe they hadn't put it on properly.
Well after a couple of rides I fell victim to losing mine!!
NOTE: I still use and love my fidlock bottle!!!

Ive had mine for years plus thier toolkits and never had them come off. The only way they can cone off is if you hit them so they rotate imo. I think they are very good.

Sometimes the mount on the bottle become loose but at Aardrock we were tokd to put a lottke bit of a spacer under the brscket when that happens. Equally if its not mounted "inside" the frame they are a bit more prone to falling off as mtb has a lot of jerky movements. The magnets are strong but still not like impossibly strong youll never get it off. I know a few whove lost bottles but all seem to be down tubes underneath mount ones

  • @mitachu

It might just be a defect with the one you have. I know it’s an older video but I hope you are able to get a replacement at no cost from fidlock. I have a 450 ml and have no issues with it coming off. I ride fast downhill, jumps and the bottle does not come off. My problem is that I keep putting the bottle on my truck bumper while loading my bike and drive off without the bottle. Lost 3 bottles..not because it fell off my bike.

I've had mine for a couple of years, no issues at all, on multiple bikes and trails of all grades. I notice you have a pump mount mounted with yours, I'm not sure I'd set it up like that.

I agree. I think it’s the way it’s set up. Looks like it’s mounted toward the side of the frame and not center due to the pump. The mount should be dead center. Mine never fly off and I ride pretty hard on trails.

hi gordon. 1 thing to check before you bin the bottle. i fitted mine with the bolts that was in the frame originally, and my bottle kept falling off, it was because the heads of the bolts stood higher than the magnet plate just enough to make a weak connection between the bottle and carrier. worth a check mate!!

Weird that you've had issues with yours, I've been running one for ages with no issues, you can see the abuse mine gets on my page. As the other guy said, make sure the bolt heads aren't sticking out of the base and stopping the mechanism from engaging - the magnets are only there to guide the bottle into the locking mechanism, it should be impossible to pull the bottle off when it's engaged.
