We're woodworkers, right? These are easy to make with rivets and scrap wood.

On the upside it helps the manufacturer avoid waste (ie. not having a surplus sitting on shelves somewhere) but true it does increase the price. Their tools are so nice though so get a few to enjoy and try to get past the price.
