FIBA ASIA - All Technical fouls at the World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers in 2nd round window 4-5-6 (24 Aug. 2022 - 27 feb. 2023)
Two T are missing because the broadcaster didn´t catch it.
Technical Foul - is a player non-contact foul of behavioural nature including, but not limited to:
- Disregarding warnings given by referees.
- Disrespectfully dealing and/or communicating with referees, the commissioner, if present, the table officials, the opponents or persons permitted to sit on the team benches.
- Using language or gestures likely to offend or incite the spectators.
- Baiting or taunting an opponent.
- Obstructing the vision of an opponent by waiving/placing his/her hand(s) near his/her eyes.
- Excessive swinging of elbows.
- Delaying the game by deliberately touching the ball after it passes through the basket or by preventing a throw-in or a free throw being taken promptly or coming on the court late to start the game or the second half.
- fake being fouled.
- Hanging on the ring in such a way that the weight of the player is supported by the ring, unless a player grasps the ring momentarily following a dunk shot or, in the judgement of a referee, is trying to prevent injury to himself or to another player.
- Goaltending during the last free throw by a defensive player. The offensive team shall be awarded 1 point, followed by the technical foul penalty charged against the defensive player.

just wondering if a warning is needed for the flop tec?

Not in all cases. Extreme cases can be direct T.
In the first clip, unless there had been a delay of game warning already, this is not a Technical foul; it is simply a throw-in violation on the defence. Subsequent similar actions and delay of game violations would be Technical fouls up to and including the last 2 minutes of the 4th Q and any OT periods. Art 17.3.2 OBR and Art. 17.1 OBRI.

@@einargun While I understand that, I don't think he "deliberately" tried to prevent the throw-in. Please refer to Art 36.1,2 in the Interpretations. Since this occurred in the 1st Q a warning should have been given; I would not have looked at this player's action as being a "deliberate" act within the spirit of the rule that would have required an automatic Technical foul.

is there examples of take foul (nba) in fiba. I have seen unsportsman fouls as clear path foul but haven't really seen take fouls (which I believe should be a technical foul in fiba)?

There are 4 types of US fouls in FIBA. 1) no legitimate attempt to play ball, 2) excessive contact, 3) unnecessary contact to stop fast break (take foul) and 4) clear path NBA actually adopted the take foul from FIBA (although they give different penalty). Along with other things, such as 14 second shot clock reset. Technical fouls are only used for non-contact fouls in FIBA
