    On the first clip at 0:18, the way gold #11 looks back before speaking to Mazzoni makes me think he did this on purpose to stop the break. Interesting strategy if this is the case, since you give up a nearly certain 2 points for a PF, 1 point and a set up defence. Perhaps a worthy trade. Interesting to think about.

    Thats what I thought too! I know some clever coaches do this to stop a fast break and hope the ref pulls the T on the spot. We as refs want to wait until the play finish and then give the T so the offensive team doesn´t get disadvantage but sometimes it´s hard in the heat of the moment.

    Good question. They didn´t publish this on tough calls page so I assume this was not enough to be given D. But I´m sure they consider it.

    first is a bad call, player ist allowed to do two step to shot or pass the ball. only way to be that a travel is him starting to dribble

    I think it´s the right call. Pivot foot is left and he release without drippling or shooting

    @@einargun i have to correct myself. he cought the ball midair, therefore left food is step one (pivot as you said), therefore it is a travel - good call

    @@cologneconductor8591 I´m glad you look at these clips with critical eyes. Not all calls are correct in these compilations so you have to look at them from the rule book. Comment as much as you like and keep working on your ref game. Thank you.

    I don't know if it's just for me but there's a slight lateness between sound and video like sound comes up late. Great video though thanks for helping us to improve !

    You are correct and it is very annoying. The BCL videos are like that when I get them and it is just too much work for me fixing the sound. Still I wanted to get this out to my channel. Understanding of the game will help watching this and looking at the referees giving signals. Glad this can help to improve.

    oh is it because his non pivot foot (left in this case) has to land after the ball is released form his hand?

    @@kostasskoulidas6549 He lifts up his pivot foot before drippling the ball. But it is very tight call.

    I think the main issue is not embellishing the contact to get the call but it's the guys hitting the floor when the contact clearly didn't warrant it.

    Fiba cannot admit this mess that is NBA, this mess that is football players facing each other pushing each other and nothing happens if there is disqualification it has to be used it is being used to the extent of some countries that basketball is a mess its Arbitration and going to world championships and Olympics this cannot be admitted

    @@einargun travel; Pivot foot rule 25.2.1., before either foot touches the ground, he shoots or passes the ball. When he lifts his pivot foot, the other foot is on the ground.

    That is a good way to have a great game, conversations, explanations and more by the referees. Not all is a tecnical foul or a disqualification

    Those referee are wrong, if the defensive player is in the charge/no charge zone no ofensive foul will be called, if the defensive player lift his feet no foul will be called, the defensive player have to stay still at the contact time to be an ofensive foul, if the defensive player is in movement and happen a contact defensive foul will be called. Hahah those FIBA referee required a good training

    Technically it is a travel but the player does not gain any advantage from it so no need to call it.

    Left foot is his pivot foot. He must start the dribble before he lifts the left foot.

    @@einargun Thank you for your comment.  I also made a similar mistake when I was playing basketball. We did a lot of drills for that.  Do you blow the whistle under NBA rules?  I feel like Luka and Anthony Edwards(MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES) is often criticized for traveling in international tournaments.

    A close call. He received the ball mid air just moments before stepping with the right foot, what would count as the first step. Then proceeds with the second step, and continues dribbling. If he received it with the right foot on the floor , or if he shot/passed after the second step, it would've been ok.

    The first attacking foul is Luka's fault. The other one cannot correct his position in attack and cannot avoid it. That's what the rule says. It's the defender's foul.
