Awesome stuff! I can't wait to finish this, hopefully it'll be done by the time we're out of lockdown 🤞

Word of warning I had one of these. As soon as the fuel light comes on you are out of fuel. No 50 mile reserve or anything. You have literally no time to find a petrol station. Look forward to the build. If you need any advice on electrics for campers shout up.

@@jackjc why?? They are so solid and practical. I love everything about it. Im on my 3rd one, got a longer one also a camper. Just a car brilliant in its simplicity and functionality.

Yeh one of the first things I did after fitting central locking was new barrels and keys, so much better now

That's because the key is not entirely symmetrical!! There is one right way to open and close it. If you have the key upside down it will spin out of alignment! You have to give it another half turn then, and remove it, rotate the key over and put it back in, it will be functional again! I bought myself some new locks because of this, but in the end I did not need them! Just mark your key so you always put it in the same way!

Got the same van as yours only the Citroen variant. I am currently camper converting mine and doing (boring) vlogs of it. May be worth stealing some of my ideas? 50mm insulation is the perfect height for the sides of the van. Just starting to get the floor in on mine. Doing a video now ;)

@@jackjc yeah it's hard with the lockdown. Thankfully I have a few bits from another van project we have on going. Just put the damp proof membrane in over the selotex on the floor. Calling it a night and heading in. There's a Facebook group dedicated to the conversion of these vans into capers. Worth joining! Cam belt job on these is pretty easy. Well worth doing if you don't know the history.

I'll have to have a look for that too, I'm planning on just going nice and simple with it for now as eventually I'll be getting a bigger van. Just thinking walls, floor, a counter top and a bed that's it really nothing crazy maybe some electrics

@@jackjc well i recommend avoiding transits and Ivecos. rot boxes. we have the iveco daily and it had so much hidden rust. even though it looked ok. french stuff does not seem so bad rust wise. always recommend going for something pre DPF. if you could get the Traffic/Vivaro with the HDI engine it would be a perfect van. good body and good engine haha. sigh if BMW made a van.. have to put the m57 in it. godly. anyway. its worth checking your fuel tank support mine has rusted out. seems to be an easy fix to weld it up or swap it out. backs of the sills at the rear, and just after the rear wheels under the bumpers. my latest video (10) shows that haha you can move the passenger seat forwards a bit on some extra bold holes. if you are tall this will help. also that lower floor level bulkhead thing will come out. a bolt each side and its just glued in really well if you want to remove it.

So were you at with it now 11 months down line
