Fiat Abarth 750 GT Zagato Coupe: Torino Blue - Petrolicious
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Perry Solomon was very young when he discovered that he liked driving. That’s normal for plenty of kids, but not many would take their dad’s Chevy Nova off of motorcycle jumps either. When he moved to California in the late 1980s Perry found himself surrounded by cars and events of every variety, while Concorso Italiano and Pebble Beach were the ones that he most enjoyed and dreamed of one day participating in. Along the way, Perry discovered the story of Carlo Abarth, the legendary Viennese-born Italian car tuner. Having always been drawn to smaller, low-volume production Italian cars, finding one that combines the histories of Abarth and Zagato is about as good as it gets.

@Byron Kelvin Yup, I've been watching on Flixzone} for years myself :)
Love this car. It was a pleasure to restore this one. The history was awesome. The ability to restore what needed to be done and preserve some very cool features of its history was a high point. We do a lot of Abarth work in the shop and this 750 is always a fond memory. It shows at Pebble this year 2019 with the owner Perry.
This video awoke a feeling of nostalgia with a bit of sadness. When I was a junior at Purdue University a fellow student had a "Double Bubble" and I had a chance to buy it from him. The price was a few hundred dollars, but I was a student and didn't have a job, so even that was too much. I have always regretted not having purchased it. I did get to drive it and it was certainly a lot of fun, if not exceptionally exciting. Thanks for the memories.
Yes! Petrolicious is back!

He means because you have been uploading random 40 second clips.
Yet another car that shows you don't need big engines or big horsepower to have a great driving car. Along with the 131 Abarth, this is Fiat at it's very best!

Eric Hakanson I love this car, and having seen one in person I have a little bit of a dilemma. This car is tiny. An adult human being who could comfortably sit in it and drive it would be rare. Otherwise, it’s a lovely thing.

The engine layout/type/displacement was never mentioned? only the HP.

@@Skyepuncher I've seen a couple at various Concours, vintage car shows, etc. IIRC, like most marques Fiat called it a 750 but it's more like a 745cc. They were single cam 4cyl motors producing (maybe) 50hp. But if you kept them wound up in their sweet spot on the tach, they moved at a pretty good clip, mostly because there's just not much to them.

@@jm0489 well that's why they made the "double bubble" variant. So tall guys like yourself could fit in it while wearing a helmet!

Wow! Italian designs are just amazing. I mean look at this, a piece of art. Beautiful car!
I’ve been associated with Autocrossing in San Diego on and off for more than 50 years. In the late 60s to early 70s Dr Chuck Thompson ran a Double Bubble Coupe very successfully in our area. Everyone marveled at how such a small engined car could do so well, plus it looked so cool doing it. Thank you for your video and preservation of the mark
I like the Donald Osborne reference, that guy is a legend!
This is why I watch this channel. Fills me with joy seeing such cars.
This automobile is one of those beautiful creations from the golden age of design along with the Glas 1600 GT!
I love the different lives this car has had. Raced. Rolled. Restored. It keeps on rolling.
Another great video along with all the other petrolicious videos. Best money I ever spent was becoming founding member!
Amazing video! The double bubble is a timeless classic and one of my favorites!
Fantastic car ! Petrolicious as we love, thank you !
Wonderful! Abarth cars were truly for enthusiasts. Even the littlest Fiat became a rally car with the addition of an Abarth marmitte, or even just a decal seemed to make the car go faster. Lovely example of the gorgeous 750 DB. Nice, correct Cavis fuel line and Lucas headlamps. Great video!
By 1980 every FIAT car was really great!!!!!
My favourite car of all time! You SIR are my role model from now!
great video i love Zagato cars ,my favorite for style and fantastic design ,bravo Petrolicious ,always a pleasure to look at
That's a nice little jewel...!
Che bella macchina !
Petrolicious! Petrolicius! Everytime I see you highlight and old tiny classic sports car, I immediately start hunting down again a clean low mileage Peugeot RCZ! Please talk me out of it guys lol!
3:33 wait a second: Jaeger gauges? Amazing!
Love this car and its story In the brief glimpse of the ownership history I spied Westwood as one of the places it raced. Just outside Vancouver BC I believe this track is now a housing development. In the early 1970s I belonged to the BC Sports Car Club and we provided the marshaling services services at Turn 1 and I recall many fun (but often rainy - in fact we called the track Wetwood) days. No recollection of this vehicle but many fun and exciting period cars.
I read some car magazines in the old days.. knowing some unique and rare cars.. until I subscribed Petrolicious
My favorite color is blue! Good work Petrolicious
wow this car is so unique and beautiful! i would love to go for a ride in this
Truly passionate about his car, one is just as cool as the other!
Queste furono le Fiat belle da vedere...
I think Perry is also passionate about sixties Alfa Romeo cars. He has a red Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT in his garage.
Very beautiful!
Awesome car and video once again 👌🏻 I may just say that I miss a better matching music... Cheers 😊

If we're seeing the BAY AREA twice in the last month, why not have some Neil Young, especially with all these back roads?
Would love to see a Fiat Abarth 1000 tc Corsa video
A fellow I knew in North Carolina bought the car Pedro Rodriguez drove in the two-hour race at the 1960 Sebring race for importer Theodore Roosevelt.
Zagato is awesome
OMG! NO BODY SEAMS!!!! That's a freakin' work of art.
"The name is bigger than the car is".......I would use that line with everyone if I was his haha
I love it.
Perry - you have done well with this beauty and she appears to be in good hands. I really like the labels on your sockets and want to know where I can find (or make) some.
The tip-toe string music is pretty funny . . . and off into the sunset!
Ah ! I recognize the Road & Track articles.
Bellissima!
It's reminiscent of an 850 Spyder Fiat. A car you hardly ever see anymore.

My first car was a Fiat Sport Coupe, even more rare. 903cc engine 58 hp idled at 1850 rpm, redline at 8,0000 speedo went to 12,0000 and you run up to 10,000 sounded like a sewing machine in heat. Fun car but very unreliable. My buddies would pick it up and put it on the front lawn for laughs. But so many fun memories with that car!!!! I did see a yellow spyder about 15 years ago but they are pretty rare now.
FYI....I have Donald Osborne's DB which I recently acquired. He's confirmed that it was his. And I have been able to track down a number of people associated with it over the years. It only needs cosmetic work at this point as the major systems; brakes, cooling, drive train & engine (original, matching numbers) have had substantial work done,
A piece of art, different from the others, as usual for Zagato
Sooo cool
Nice. Why can't they design fun cars like this anymore? Oh, I forgot. Everyone prefers those lookalike SUVs.

Gorgeous car! Anyone else think it was Paul Dano narrating before the real owner showed up?

What a lovely car - so much cooler than a Ferrari!
FIAT!
💖💕
I noticed that the owner's log said that when the current owner bought the car, the deal was brokered by Donald Osborne - same guy who appraises cars on Jay Leno's car show?
I see a lot of similarities with the early Porsches and this car.

Actually in 60-61 there were some Porsche 356 Carrera build by Abarth...
So we're not going hear the motor, just the music and the owner talking?
Will this car be at pebble beach in the 100 years zagato collection?

Yes!
Why would someone go through all of the trouble and money of restoring the car, only to decide to show the scratches on the door? Lol doesn't make sense to me
Where can I get gloves like that?!?!? Just kidding.
I was sold at, "...and theres no seatbelt"
Do a fiat 124
Why is it the cars that really speak to me are all stupidly rare or expensive?
Just a friendly reminder: a coup is not a coupé. A coup in your car means you're sitting in Herbie. Or a Tesla.
For people with herring problems, especially with hearing aid, the mix between spoken text and totally unnecessary noise (computer music) is really unpleasant. Car driving however is a welcome sound.
Drive FASTER!!.
Sad to see how hard this channel took a hit due to bringing out all the premium subscription garbage. Only 15k views?! Ouch.
Seriously, it would be less frustrating to watch if you didn't drive the car at all. ....the little pedal on the right....Use it!
That’s how you start a Fiat 126p
Fiat 8v
It's not a porsccchehheeeeee, but a Fiat ?! what is happening to you petrolicious ?! found your soul under the bed have you ? :D
Sub?
Zagato make some UGLY cars.
Nice car horrible colour. There was a reason it was delighted Italian red...
