    Fiac.. are what dreams are made of! I love how compact this unit is and doesn't need floor space and I should've considered one of these last year because all I needed was something for light duty. The Kobalt Quiet Tech compressor I ended up buying got retrofitted it with Prevost couplers, blue spiral hose and blow gun!

    Sometimes it’s best not to overthink the moment. And it’s all about communication with your customers. In 25 years of detailing cars, I have never heard of a customer being unhappy about attentions to detail or anything happening other than them being repeat customers. But hey, I do understand your point, but that’s why detail shops have insurance. A car could also catch on fire just sitting in your garage. Or there could be an engine failure after a pro detailer details the engine bay. Should people stop detailing? I think you get my perspective on it.

    Scope of intended use seems to be too limited for the wide range of use cases for DIY detailers and around the hose activities. I see it displacing the need for an air compressor (as long as you don’t need to use pneumatic power tools), but you can buy a portable Ridgid or Milwaukee unit and get 90% of the same functionality as this unit.

    Pan, I'm new to auto care, and I do want to do regular maintenance washes on my car. However I don't want to spend a lot of time washing my car. If I can suggest a video, how about creating a video showing what methods/products you would use if you only had 30 minutes to wash your car. It would be great to see what products/methods you would prioritize with only 30 minutes. I love your channel, I've subscribed. Mike

I have been detailing for 25 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. This being a detailing channel, I don’t cut corners when showing my viewers how to do things properly. So unfortunately, for a proper wash in under 30 min, that is impossible. I take 45 min to wash my car, and that’s being efficient. If your car is only lightly dirty, you could do a quick rinseless wash in 20 minutes, like I showed here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/omlsu5eqgseZf7g.html Or if you want something in less than 10 min, just a quick contactless wash if you’re in a hurry and aren’t looking to get 100% clean results, watch my video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dp6gt7yncteypMo.html

    @@PanTheOrganizer thank you so much for the reply and for the links to those videos. I'm excited to learn more about detailing and your channel is a wonderful resource! I'm definitely in the beginner category, but that's where everyone starts! I bought a 2000 PSI 1.1 GPM Greenworks pressure washer (I wish I would have gotten one with a higher GPM spec) and I bought the BOSS foam cannon system from Griots garage. I did my first foam cannon application last night with the Griots surface prep and the results were quite good! The car still has some spots and areas where I need to do the 2-bucket hand wash (I still need to buy buckets and car shampoo) and I still need to buy wheel/tire care products (I think I'm going to go with the Adams tire and wheel cleaner). I need to upgrade the hose and trigger gun on my pressure washer as well, and I need to buy a hose reel for the pressure washer hose. One step at a time! So much to learn and so much to get better at! Thanks again for your videos and your thoughtful reply to my question! Mike

    Here’s a quick question….I’ve been shopping for a micro vacuum for occasionally though the week when I want to vacuum light dust, fibres or pollen that accumulates around the dash or seats but something that gets into the tight spaces and won’t scratch the dash. Something you can keep by your door or even in the car that actually has decent suction. Is there anything out there like that? It’s a pain to grab the shop vac every time my OCD flares up. 😆. Thanks pan! Obsessedgarage always gets the best detail tools. I got the kranzler 1322ts pressure washer. And this air compressor looks good for a mobile detailer set up.

    Thanks Michael. This isn't made for heavy duty use though, so for mobile detailers I will have another solution coming soon. The FIAC for example isn't made to be used with Tornador air tools, as it doesn't produce enough continuous power to drive those. The FIAC is perfect for light use as blowing interiors, or inflating tires.

    Hi Nick, how much air delivery SCFM is needed and at what PSI to run a Tornador would you suggest? Been looking at the Husky 4.5 & 20 gal silent flows? Or need something more powerful then those? 😊

  • @PanTheOrganizer

    @PanTheOrganizer

    I will have a video on that topic coming soon. But according to Tornador, you need a unit capable of producing 5 CFM at 90 psi. So something that can sustain a good amount of air delivery.

    I am sure there are many knockoffs out there. Same goes for any tool in the detailing world. Look at all the copies for Rupes polishers from other brands. One thing is for sure, FIAC is made in Italy and the quality is there. Not sure about the brand you were mentioning though.

    @@PanTheOrganizer After more research I found that FIAC has manufacturing in 3 locations, Italy, China and Brazil. Further research shows that this compressor is indeed made in China for FIAC and the other ones that are out there that look exactly the same (such as the one on Amazon I mentioned above) come from the same manufacturing plant in China. With that said that doesn't necessarily mean they are all equal when the products leave the plant. A company, such as FIAC, may insist on better components and higher QC from the manufacturer for their versions.

    I've had the Chicago Pneumatic version for over a year. Specs are the same and everything looks and sounds the same as this Fiac, for $160. Just looked and it's on sale for $129 on ebay. The CP version also includes a lot more, higher quality accessories. Read the earlier replies - CP is NOT a knockoff brand, it is an upper-mid tier manufacturer of tools and competes with Ingersoll-rand. No reason to get this Fiac version at all for U.S. viewers.
