I don't think I've ever seen the Borderlands Ruins map EVER when I've been doing Frontlines. I've been doing it every day for the past week or so to get to 25 before Dawntrail and not once have I seen that map.

In Secure, I never understood why we dont just hold the point in Front of the base + the one on the left/right side from the Shuffle. Instead of leaving it and briefly only holding 1 point b4 we capture the other side for a second again, why dont we just sit down and actually hold it so we keep 2?

Because what would ultimately happen is you'd have 2 teams fighting for one point allowing the remaining team to get three points almost uncontested, and since they aren't fighting and losing players they'd get a sizable score increase while the fighting/guarding teams would end up losing more score than the point actually provides through player deaths.

When a buddy sent this to me and made fun of this guide, I was honestly pretty skeptical as to what you're trying to impart into newer players. For reference, we're both high level PvPers with a relatively long history of PvP (though he hasn't experienced the glorious Stormblood PvP days). I'm genuinely surprised how much good there is here though, but there's a few things I strongly disagree with or feel should not have been omitted. I'll list what I can think of on the fly, as those are most likely the most glaring issues. 1. Objective vs Fighting. Especially in the early game, it is okay to give up an objective if it means you can get your team way ahead with battle highs. Those will snowball down the line and get you into the lead, given proper decision-making. 2. Battle Highs. It also buffs the amount of healing you receive, which in turn means you spend less time backing off to refresh mana. Very important to note imo. 3. Shared Abilities. I'm a little sad that you did not mention them because they are *core* for your survivability. Guard is key to survive burst (especially as Ninja, as you can get away with being out of position a lot of the time due to your mobility), but the healing pot is just as important as your sustain. Don't think of your healers as people who will heal you. They're moreso supports. Your healing comes from your Potions, which in turn use up your mp. 4. Class Switching mid game. It's a lot worse than you think, it does kill off all of the Battle High you have accumulated. 5. Which team to focus. If you notice that your team has very little Battle High, it is perfectly acceptable to go for the weaker team to farm up Battle High to then challenge the stronger team. There's more with certain strategies and such but... I think this is not quite in the scope of this video. Borderland Shuffle comes to mind - You only wanna do it if all teams are completely even. If you're the strongest team, you wanna bully second place instead. If you are second place and feel like you can challenge first place, do that, else farm up battle high on the weaker team until you can. As I said, out of scope for this.

This was one of my oldest videos when I was just getting started, so their are a lot of things I would actually change about it. Which is why I literally just made a more updated version of it. To your points keeping my new video in mind. 1.) I think I do better talking about the importance of going for objectives(specifically the correct objectives) and constantly looking for smart fights like flanks to get safe points/battle high 2.) I don't really go into the specifics of battle high, but I do point out it's importance and how it basically increases personal power significantly 3.) So I do assume some level job knowledge when talking a game mode because you either try to figure things out before you queue or you go in knowing nothing in which there are more important things for you to figure out. Moreover, I do try to stay specifically to the topic at hand in any of my videos. Basically, if I was going to talk about shared abilities it would be in a separate video for people considering trying pvp for the first time that way I could give them information without overwhelming them with other things they don't need to worry with yet 4.) I completely omit this from the new video 5.) Kinda going back to one I focused much more on picking smart fights so flanks or clear wins noting that you should often focus your closest point rival unless the other is easier

Everyone always says “there’s no strategy in frontlines”. Clearly people who don’t pvp often. This guide just proves their ignorance.
