Thank you for this! Getting back into the game fater 2 years of being away and lo and behold, all my hotbars got deleted and I needed a way to get everything set back up. This worked perfectly! (Now to just remember rotations...)

I use this concept to make buttons that follow class combos. ie. press a button for the first action in the combo, it swaps my hotbar so the same button is now triggering the next action.

That's a really good concept actually. And I imagine it's faster than trying to macro a combo together too?

The way you explain things is very helpful! I JUST started gaming last year again after like 10 years and started with LoL (yikes) and then moved on to GW2, BG3, and now FFXIV. All of the graphics moving on the screen is literally still overwhelming to me sometimes. Nevertheless, there's several concepts I've been trying to understand and you've been the ticket, sir. Thanks a million for making this game a million times more fun for me!

One macro that I like (because my armory is always a nightmare - I'm still leveling most of my jobs), is an Armory Sort macro. It goes like this: /isort condition armoury ilv des (next line) /isort execute armoury (Next line) /e All Armoury Chests sorted by item level!

I have found that the job category macros copy buttons over to the unshared hotbar unintentionally, i.e. after I click a job icon to swap jobs, the unshared hotbar then displays other unintended job icons. The solution I found was to create macros for each job and include a “/hotbar remove # all” to clear the buttons after I swap - # being the number of whichever unshared hotbar you are using to display the pop-up menu. This was more macros than I wanted but it now functions perfectly.

I have never had that issue at all, mostly because it's a copy macro, But I feel like that macro could be very handy for a few other things. So thank you for sharing that!

I have the same bug sadly when i chose a job, another job category show up, tried multiple thing to fix it but nothing works

by any chance is there a way that you could give us a copy paste thing to make this more stream lined??

No no, it's not necessary, it's very handy even when you start. But it's better to play for a bit and use it only when you decide it's the best time. I had done all the base game content before even dabbling into this.

@DyingLegacy nice to know! I got the free trial on PS4 just to try out my first MMO but after you said the controls for the controller are pretty good I realized that you don't necessarily have to play on a keyboard

You definitely don't have to play on a keyboard at all, and vast amount of people and content creators use a controller instead. @@dekuramzie04

After I change class using the collapsing hot bar it doesn’t hide. Anyone know what’s going on?

Check the macro, and make sure you have /hide in it

I’m sorry, this seems very in-depth but it seems like a late game thing. do i need to wait til end game or can i do this early? I’m also not very tech savvy is there a dummy version?? Edit for additional information: i used to play this game a while ago but only on console, i recently started again with a fresh character on PC, i used your HUD clean up video (which was amazing by the way) but this video is just wayyy over my head

It's not late game, but you would need to wait till you had a starting job at level 30, and unlocked an actual job. it uses macros to copy a hot bar layout from another job. Maybe I explained badly, as this was one of my first FFXIV guides

@@timtate09 nah you're not dumb 😂 I think I just speed ran it a bit, easiest way to do it. Is make sure a few hotbars aren't shared. It's in the settings. Go to a starter job you don't use. By removing the soul crystal. Put what you want on a hotbar. Make a macro that copies that hot bar. And put the macro on a shared hotbar! You can also if you wanted to instead. Is, in the settings you can turn on the cross hotbar for consoles, and it'll be it's own hotbar. You have to click the skills that are on it. But it is extra space ☺️

Yes it still works, it sounds like you might be inputting the command wrong, or there is something blocking it

I clicked for the glamour, not the hotbars lmao what jacket is that??

Thanks for clicking regardless lol The jacket is the "Rakshasa Haori of striking" For monks and Samurais I think

/hotbar copy ACN 6 current 8 /hotbar display 8 on /wait 7 /hotbar display 8 off /hotbar display 9 off i belive dawntrail messed this up as the hotbars dont work right for me anyway you know to fix this? cause nothing is showing up on the 8 hotbar :(

@KujizaArurfaOkami check that you actually have your hotbars saved on the arcanists 6th hot bar to begin with. When you say its not working. What do you mean?

@DyingLegacy I mean whe I hit tanks nothing shows up I had it set up but some reason now tanks, healers show up on the tank. Dos, and healers fir some reason

You still ahven't said if you have checked out your arcanist to make sure that you actually have anything on that hotbar to begin with
