Did anyone else notice something similar to the Azem Symbol on top of the Dimension Key in the last cutscene before the trial opens?

Yep. I feel this is going to be a major part of the story arc moving forward. Still wondering who or what will actually be the constant threat looming over the next few expacs.

the rock inside is 100% auracite, they brought back that plot point on the last raid tier just like they did aloalo on 6.5, they were writing those pieces of content in tandem with dawntrail msq I'd say Ultima, or whatever her kind is, is the "new big bad" but we'll have to see

"Similar to", no, that wasn't "similar" it was exactly the Azem symbol. Which is an interesting connection because it ties the artifacts powers of dimensional manipulation to the same sort of power used by us to summon helpers from other worlds. Makes me wonder if a prior incarnation of one of Azem's shards was involved in the creation of the artifact, and maybe the reason they were never able to fully utilize it's powers is because the one who opened the initial gate like us was a shard of Azem and capable of invoking it's power.

Goblet of Azem just reminded me of something… the Dawn Throne in the Azimme Steppe. It looks like a goblet with hands reaching up to grab it

My group immediately wiped from the first suction, which we learned is an insta-kill if you get pulled in

The Azem symbol on the Key/Cup is so interesting, since it implies that Azem was doing stuff for a LONG TIME after the Sundering. I wonder if Azem was in the process of trying to do a Rejoining but without causing calamity. Or were they actively fighting against the Rejoining, and was trying to find safe harbor for the Shards, especially after the creation of the Void. It implies that during Alexandrias destruction, that someone came and helped them escape. One thing thats always made me wonder, is that we start the game on the cart. We arent from a town, we arent from anywhere, we just show up. So is it possible Azem was whole for a long time, but eventually got split. Is the "Key" actually auracite? Does that mean Azem is in there, or that when auracite is used, it doesnt just absorb the entire person, but instead splits them? Is auracite a substance that is also "Sundered" and so anything put within it that is not, becomes so? Alot of weird stuff nevertheless, but im glad theyre telling us they arent done with Azem

@@NeroLucifarious Previous Sundered Ascians regain knowledge and memories of their past self. Especially if Azem has some ability to "fuse" things together, its possible shards of Azem are reconstituting, and theres a 4/12 shards Azem walking around. Remember, we fused with Ardbert, which otherwise shouldn't be possible, so potentially one of the Azems went to the Shards facing destruction in order to save themselves and refuse together.

@@Oizys0miseria elidibus didnt give us anything. Emet left the crystal behind and the copy of hythlo gave it to us. Emet made our crystal cause our unsundered self left the convocation in disagreement for the zodiark plan, thus azem didnt get to make a memory crystal and emet made it in secret with azems signature magic

Just got to this battle. Seems like a lot of mechanics for normal mode.

@@RaizerSkybreakerthe voice director is very obviously at fault here. THANCRED sounds like he has a completely different VA on his first few lines of dialogue. Wuk lamat has plenty of great voice acting segments but a weird bit in the finale because she wasn’t given proper context or told to re-record it.

Seriously?! The final boss? Is the main scenario story really short?

That trial was so cool till they ruined it by having her get the nine tails.

I loved this boss, super fun and cool. atleast until Wok Lameass showed up.

That Finale is a bit of a shame. The wanted to give us another Endsinger Final Phase but for some reason exactly here the Voice Acting sounds terrible...when you least would want it

I literally switched to Japanese audio and I think I'll do that from here on because god damn Wuk Lamat is not very good. JP is just overall better in general, they put way more emotion into it

Sheesh. Seems like I made the right call to skip on Dawntrail. This Wuk Lamat VA would drive me to play in another language, also the whole setup of Dawntrail seems way under cooked. Maybe next expansion 🤷‍♂

It's not just that VA, it's the whole character and the story. It's FAR worse than StB, and i'd say had less thought put into it than ARR.

@@xalmor6044 It’s not worse at all, people are nitpicking. Yeah, DT story have some significant flaws...just like the story in other addons. The pacing is much better than in HW/ShB. Let be real, all this hate for the DT plot is mostly due to the fact that he was unlucky enough to be after EW. Despite the fact that EW is glued together from two addons, with a noticeable (but who cares) seam.

@@xalmor6044 I really enjoyed the story. It's a good point for a fresh start of an Arc, I don't really see the issue with Wuk Lamat's VA. I don't get the disatifaction, it's like people expected Dawntrail to be EW2 when it was marketed to be anything but.
